one thing David Bruce does in his 5 composers vs... is showing off the performance first and then play the song once again with commentary.
that way you also don't have to mix in the voices sensibly, but can just duck the track since we've just heard it. garnish with some links to channel and publications, and serve as cool as a slice of lime.
you could ask for a session view scroll to put behind the song, or grab a quick spectrum, so you don't have to create a big visualization...
