Amazing work man! This is one of the best videos on Brooks Brothers out. Fun editing and script too 🎉
Thanks, appreciate that!
Please keep up the good work! Me and my wife love your videos. We were both flabbergasted to see such low view counts. Work of this quality is EST 1818 for sure.
Hahaha thanks, appreciate that!
omg lol the intro dancing lol so good!
I love BB. Their shirts feel amazing and I love their ties.
Thank you for this great video! I have been a long time BB consumer and even recall when they would come to fraternities to help teach my frat bros how to dress themselves like adults! I recently started to go and thrift for some mens wear because business casual at the office has be destroying work shirts and pants and i was pleasantly surprised to see so much quality BB shirts on the rack! I will most definitely have to book mark this video because as you mentioned not all BB is created equal and some shirts are HUGE because of the era they were made! Thanks again for this i will def be subscribing!
Glad you enjoyed! And yes, for people who wear business casual on a near daily basis, pre-owned BB is the ticket.
Interesting they came to fraternities! I kind of doubt such a program still exists but I'd be curious to hear more if it does. I bet they sold some clothes and established some brand loyalist by doing so.
Two of my best early finds were vintage brooks. A 60s-70s Trenchcoat with a faux-camel hair lining but 100 percent natural materials. And a surprisingly high quality 346 rugby.
Interesting! And yeah, old 346 is good stuff.
Genuinely surprised to see you had only 400 subs. Nice vid
Thanks!
Great vid, you should do a ralph lauren one
Thanks. And yes, highly likely.
Excellent video! A good place to look as well is the fabric that was used… BB bought high end italian fabrics such as Loro Piano and more…Stuff that lasts!
Good point!
Coyote, in NYC where I believe you live you can also find great Brooks bros stuff at Thrift Shops. Especially shirts
Yes, and in most thrift shops I suspect you can find some BB
Great video! You did a good job especially with all the sub-labels and the with the history of the brand in mind. Some of the vintage stuff is definitely awesome if you know what to look for, and can get a good price. Some of the non-iron oxfords are not bad but I agree that the regular, original oxfords are way better. Like you show in the video, if you can get them in good condition secondhand, than the value is probably unmatched compared to some of the other more niche brands. Nice Aldens! Is there an Alden video on the horizon? That would be very helpful!
Thanks! Yeah, BB oxfords of all varieties seem to be a good value. I haven't explored other brands too deeply but I suspect few (if any) exceed the amount of variety and value BB offers on the pre-owned markets.
And the non-irons are probably very convenient for an everyday workwear staple but for more casual relaxed settings I'll take not non-irons.
Regarding Alden - I don't know. They're kind of a small brand to commit a whole video to but maybe! If I was to do a shoe video I think Allen Edmond would come first - not as nice as Alden but a lot more accessible.
Solid info, thanks
Glad it was helpful.
Interesting video. I enjoyed it.
Thanks, and glad to hear that!
This was a great video wow! Did not realize you have so few subs until I went to subscribe. This channel is gonna go far
Thanks, and hope so!
Great video. You've inspired me to sell some of my BB collection! Outgrown and rarely worn, so i'm hoping for the best. Sad the 346 Madison HQ is closed. 😥
Should at least get a little something. And yeah, it’s bummer. Very storied location.
What sizes in shirts and pants, and tie lengths do you generally have?
Please make more brand reviews, J. Press and Polo Ralph Lauren would be good.
Plan to in the future. Will def be talking about Ralph Lauren at some point.
❤
It’s so sad to see what’s happening to Brooks Brothers now. Especially being New England based, I’ve always loved Brooks Brothers and their timeless style. The pre-owned is still excellent quality and style though!
Yeah but they’ve had a good run. And they’re still around and could make a real turn around. We shall see.
Personally, I would not spend $45 for a pre-owned Brooks Brothers OCBD on eBay when I can go online to Nordstrom Rack and get a brand-new one for $50. $25 - 35 would be my target price, depending on condition. I've picked up several BB items on eBay and at thrift shops and I love them. Currently I'm in the market for just a plain blue original OCBD but haven't found one in my size, I may have to bite the bullet and go visit Nordstrom Rack.
Yeah, but does Nordstrom rack have the $200, made in USA OCBDs for $50?
Hey Coyote Sharp, really nice video ! I was wondering if I could help you with Best Quality Editing in your videos which visually appeal to audience and would increase average view duration and will also make a highly engaging Thumbnail which will overall help your videos to reach to a wider audience ? Pls let me know what do you think ?
Most my tie are brooks bothers tie from 1950 and 1960 and shirt from 1960 and 1950
Dang! Another testament to their quality and timelessness.
Has anyone ever told you that you talk/sound like Ryan Reynolds?
No but I'll take it
'promosm' 💔
I always found Brooks Brothers brothers to be overly conservative and unsophisticated, which I guess makes sense since that's just how American business wear is in general. The quality at least was good enough but that is only part of the equation. I don't really know anybody in the 40s or younger interested in wearing BB, they instead buy from the various European brands online or go made to measure and get something custom.
You are right, it was pretty boring but it was meant for people who work for others, and for those people, myself included, your dress is supposed to be nice and well put together but somewhat boring since you are not the center of attention. That said, their weekend wear was always super fun and out there. I will also say, their offerings were of far better quality than equivalently priced European brands and mtm brands might be cheaper but I have not found one whose higher end line is equal to Brooks in quality of construction, so even though they are cheaper they are not a replacement. There were always mtm companies in major us cities that did comparable quality for cheaper but the price was atmosphere and, often, consistency
Conservative yes for the most part (except for black fleece) but unsophisticated is a reach imo. They have their basics for sure, but I wouldn't call a 100% camel polo coat unsophisticated.
@@CoyoteSharp Exactly. And you mention their weekend/ vacation focused lines, which were both very trendy and sohphisticated. Blew the European stuff at a similar price point out of the water imho.
