- Rear view (just out of Penn Station) but mostly side view from Amtrak's Northeast Regional # 86 from New York's Penn Station to Boston's South Station. The video tape of the ride actually ends around Providence, RI., but there are a few clips of the South Station just after arrival.
Z thank you very much for this video I took this trip in 1999 but it was at night time now I get to see what I missed on my trip I enjoy watching all your videos
thank you
Loved watching this. Very crisp image. I'm probably taking this trip in a few months so this was nice to see the train and beautiful scenery.
Instablaster.
That NYC to New Haven portion is just maddening slow. And I don't see any plans to boost the speed to 100+ mph, or better yet, above 135. Would make NYC-BOS so much more competitive.
I'm going to be taking this trip in a week or so.. I'm wondering if the Acela is worth the extra money? or just stay with the Regional. I love train travel. Thanks for the video.
Gewglesux Acela’s like only 40min faster but way more expensive
@@joeyu8762 Hey Joe,
Exactly.. That's what i found out.. I ended up going regional.
Did anyone notice the three Army helicopters at 11:11, again at 12:34 and yet again at 12:50. I bet they had a front seat look.
What are the differences between bay back station, south station and north station. I’m planning to go to Boston from nyc I’m a little confused
South station is the end of the line. All Acela and Regional trains terminate here. Back Bay is the stop right before South Station and serves the Back Bay area. Just look up a map of the area. Both stations are in the city of Boston. North Station is NOT on the Corridor. It's on the North side of the city and is not accessible by train from South Station. You would need to take a subway. The only Amtrak service out of North Station is the Downeaster to Maine.
10:45 Oof, busted. They did the same bull to me not even 5 minutes departing 30th street towards Boston.
Why do you constantly jerk the camera back and forth? It's tough to watch after a while.
Because I was holding it with my hand and the train was bouncing all over the place. It's not that bad is it?
ah my bad, it's actually pretty good for handheld. That's why I thought it was on a tripod and you were just moving it randomly. Yeah it's fine.
As you can see, south of NYC is completely different from north of NYC - electrically and every other way.
