You have the right idea, my man! Most of my travel needs only take me between Boston and DC (I live in Philly) so I usually choose Acela First Class no matter my destination on the NEC. Though I have to say my trips south of Philly have been much more pleasant simply because first class is almost always booked solid and cramped going north of New York in my experience.

We rode the Acela once, and Caiden was excited that we went in First Class. I sat with him. Lizzie sat with Kyle. We went to NYC and not Boston. I just wanted to know how much I want to ride the Acela! Signed, Jessica Milton, Norcross, GA, USA.

7:44 What stop is closest to that bridge? I took Amtrak a long time ago and really enjoy that particular portion, but I forgot where it is.

No matter how hard you try, you will always be behind the rest of the world with high speed trains. You just love your cars to much. Wonder how long you will be prepared to sit in traffic while the rest of us glide along on rail. Feel so sorry for you all that your politics are fed and kept happy taking back hangers from the fat plump car dealers who don’t care how much pollution or how long you sit in jams for hours on end. As long as you keep buying there gas guzzlers from them.

A lot of people like trains, but too many private railroad companies think they're a pain in the butt. Also, many politicians think long-distance trains are a waste of money, so it's been a real battle to keep them going.

I do prefer trains for medium distance travel 500-1000 miles but the convenience of an automobile far outweighs HS rail. Not many people relocating out of US to countries that offer HS rail.

So "Wiggins" you live alongside the train station, or do you walk home ? Obviously you never plop your huge butt into a car seat, so how do you get to and from the train station ?

Richard Stephen Wiggins There are a lot of places in the US without mass transit making a car necessary. Many US states also have too low population density outside of their main cities to support mass transit.
I suspect that you are in the UK which is similar to a densely populated small US Eastern state.

NaYawkr I’me retired at the moment. I’me not talking about myself personally. A lot of money from governments in Europe knows that rail is the only way to reduce congestion and pollution. I am glad to see that private company is taking the lead. Well done on that but I cannot see the nation as a whole embracing it.
