This video published when I'm already in Spain so to everyone trying to give me suggestions about cutting tools, it's a little too late for me to be able to use them. To anyone worried about safety, the laundry room key is actually from an old apartment that I never gave back. But I left that one out to practice with at home and I packed another random key that I have no idea what it goes to anymore 😅 I think as long as you move efficiently, the time difference between a key and other cutting tools is negligible.
Good luck at worlds and I can’t wait to see the videos since I can’t watch the lives stupid time differences
Good luck at the competition! 🥰🤞🍀
Good luck ❤
Food for thought! I would use the key, only because I can tell more than the others that it for sure goes all the way through the sticker. That way I would know for a fact it cut through completely >.< Just from the video it looks like you couldn't be too sure with the other options >.< It could possibly save you time if you try to open the box and notice you didn't cut through completely
Good luck!!!! You’ll do great 😊
Missing piece note with no missing piece is epic puzzle trolling! 😂
I have no idea how that happened! Maybe he found the missing piece but forgot to remove the note? 😂
😂😂😂
@@KarenPuzzles Maybe it was meant for a different puzzle?
I got a puzzle from the op shop (thrift shop for Americans) and it said missing piece but all of them where there, that was pretty cool
😂
It's such a joy to watch your videos! I'm recovering from cancer. Was diagnosed in the early part of covid, and EVERYTHING was different in the chemo unit. We had very limited snacks, no one was allowed to be in there with us, etc. Last week, I had to wait for a B12 shot, so I went to the restroom and get a drink.....and next to the kitchen was a little card table WITH A PUZZLE ON IT! I asked the lab tech if I could wait over there, and happily whiled away the time there! I was a little sad when they came to get me. I realize I could have gone back to it, but my energy is so low ( and my doctor was 2 hours late, so I'd used up all of my spoons already!), and I didn't want to hog it! I do plan on working more on it....and next time, I'll just tell them that's where I'll be, while waiting on the doctor! 😁😘
Hi Karen! My name is Tamás! Greetings from Hungary! ( Central Europe )
Your two puzzles are also available in Hungary, which I was very happy about! The 3000-piece puzzle takes 35 hours, while the meta puzzle 1027-pieces takes 7 hours! I just did the latter today! I really enjoyed both and thank you very much! When you introduced them I knew I wanted to make them, I'm so happy I did! I have about 190 puzzles, mostly 500 and 1000 pieces! You are very fast, I prefer to play slowly while watching a movie! But there are times when I don't get up, 1000 pieces are not ready yet! I like your videos, but unfortunately I don't understand because I don't speak English, I'm still using a translator, but I hope you understood everything!
Good luck in Spain!
The English and Hungarian languages are so different! My mother is fluent, but i haven’t been able to learn much besides the very rudimentary stuff. It’s amazing that puzzles can be shared and enjoyed by people all over the world!
I'm so happy you enjoyed them!
The cool thing about the boxes that are closed by the stickers is that you can buy those same stickers and practice opening the box many times unlike the shrink wrap which is a bit more costly to reproduce.
Lady, we called the police. You have removed all the shrink wrapping from the Ravensburger puzzles in our book store.
Yeah, you can get shrink wrap machines but sockets are definitely cheaper. Haha
I gotta say, you definitely inspired me into putting research about speed puzzling competitions in my area and who knew there ARE annual competitions! Well I live in Germany, so I kinda expected it (because of Ravensburger) but I'm so excited and I think I will apply for next year. Although I need to practice a TON before even trying😂 I also need 500 piece puzzles because I only do 1000+. I hope to find new friends and make acquaintances in the puzzle community, right now I feel kinda lonely and nerdy over here😅 Wishing you Good Luck at Worlds🍀💪

Same!
@@luisa5550 schau mal in meine Antwort an Janny, hab da was zu geschrieben :)
Hey Karen, I don't usually comment because of my anxiety but just wanna say I love your content and Good luck to you at worlds! Someone I know will be in the same group as you, she's Australia's top puzzler so watch out! haha
Yes she's already on my radar! I can't wait to meet her.
Since the Worlds are in Spain I thought i'd offer a bit of spanish wisdom that I've used before in competitions (and in everyday life!) : "visteme despacio que tengo prisa" ("dress me up slowly because I'm in a hurry"). Sometimes pausing for a second it's better in the long run even if it seems you're wasting time. Buena suerte!
I've been watching for years, but don't normally comment. It is really cool to see how far your channel has come. Not only you going to world's (congrats), but also, I see you popping up in other UA-cam communities I watch. I was talking to a Booktuber about your channel, and a gamer I watch was talking about your channel on a stream the other day. Safe travels!
I hope you have sooooo much fun! I literally can’t wait for your recap videos and I’ll be cheering for you and everyone there!
I think the "no sharp objects" rule is less for general security and more for your own safety, because they don't want anybody to hurt themselves in a hurry. So you might still not be allowed to use the safety pin, but as long as the key works out there shouldn't be a problem.
Yes, I think next year I'll be asking more detailed questions and get a full list of what is and isn't allowed.
I personally love puzzles with tiny details I can look for and am less fond of big color block or low-detail areas! So interesting how different people have different preferences for stuff 😊 Good luck at worlds!
I agree. The garden & the dragon are 2 of my favorites.
You have such a likeable personality and your laugh is contagious. Love watching the championships.
I love the Circle of Colors puzzles! I bought all of them (at least the ones that were released at that point) in February and got so excited to see that they released a new batch in September! I'm not a speed puzzler, so I will definitely not beat your times, but I enjoy them anyways❤ good luck in Spain with your COLORS
Karen, the joy you’ve given with the title of this video 🔥
There were so many colors in those round puzzles! I just know we're going to place in the top three in Individuals! And by "we", I mean the royal "we" because I am definitely going living vicariously through you. Puzzle on!
Good luck at Worlds Karen. Will def be catching the live streams of the events. LETS GO KAREN AND THE MISFITS!!! 🎉 You guys got this!
Anything that brings people from around the world together is great. Good luck but most importantly have fun and enjoy being surrounded by all those colours!
To open the stickers, a metal nail file would work great and may be accepted.
Good luck and good luck to your sister! I’m rooting for her. Remember to have fun
You chose great puzzles for this video, vibrant colors and all
Super hyped for you! I love the circle puzzles with all those colors, so pretty! I think the flower one was my fav. Best of luck! I'm sure you'll have a blast ^^
The only thing I can think of that might work better than a safety pin and as well as a key would be a nail file… but then you have to worry about size & international flight. I think the key is the easiest & safest option all the way around. You could even get a specific Puzzle Key made for puzzling so you don’t risk losing a house or laundry room key. Last time I went to get a cool house key made, they had a key that had puzzle pieces on it as the theme. Plus it would be brightly colored and harder to lose. I would also put it on a lanyard so you don’t have to worry about it being on the floor or falling off a table or slipping it on a wrist. You could use the laundry room key as the master to make it as well because access to the laundry room & losing it isn’t as weird as access to your house and losing it.
I actually dug into my box of spare keys and found one that I have no idea what it belongs to to bring with me to Spain. I think I'll be able to keep track of it. The event isn't *that* chaotic.
@@KarenPuzzles I lose my keys in my own house 😅 I hope all goes well with travel and everything!
I wonder if you would be allowed to use a seam ripper, it seems like that would work great. If you use a key, you should get a new one made. When I made copies of my key they were much sharper right out of the machine. Can't wait to see you compete!
You are amazing!!!!!! Go girl!!! We are rooting for you!!!
I loved all the colors of the circle puzzles! Good luck at World Championships!!
The color block and color gradient puzzles/puzzle areas are definitely your thing! Thanks for sharing this with us. Good luck too! We are rooting for you.😊
I discovered my cat really enjoys watching you sort and solve puzzle in the time lapse clips! She was glued to the screen! So Mews kitty and I wish you all our best at Worlds! 😻🧩
Good luck. Your work will pay off. Thanks for representing the USA in this international event.
Your times on those puzzles are great. They can compare to most of the other puzzlers who are going to Spain. Good luck! You are going to do great Karen 😊
22:22 - I just ordered 'Donuts'! This is my PERFRECT type of puzzle!I do a lot of detail-oriented sorting upfront, building 'islands' from all the similar pieces, piecing THOSE together and VOILA! :)
Minu's Pond is definitely difficult... Of the last 17 puzzles (500 pieces) I have done, Minu's Pond was 13th timewise (And the two slowest do not really count. They were meant to be insanely hard). It surprised me as well, but those colors everywhere. It is just a mess :) Teacup kitty on the other hand - It was 3rd fastest :)
That makes me feel better about my time!
Can’t wait for your competition recaps! I hope you have the best time and good luck!!
Aaah, so fun to watch you trying all of these puzzles! I don't know how you do it - puzzling fast stresses me out 😂. I love to do them at a comfortable pace, which is why I will probably never compete. But I understand that you might enjoy the challenge. Otherwise you wouldn't be doing puzzles with a huuuuge piece count and really hard ones. So I really hope you are enjoying your time in Spain getting the results you can live with 😅! I personally liked the Manatee Moments, Minu's Pond, and Greenhouse Morning puzzle and would like to try them in the future. I'm not a fan of a lot of Ravensburger puzzles because I also like big color blocks and bright colors. But kudos to you for hanging in there and getting it done! ❤
Have a wonderful time at Worlds and I shall watch what I can when I can. I've done five of the puzzles on the list but I didn't speed run them. The exception was Cute Dogs as that was a BOTYP one and took me just over 2 hours. The circular ones are good as you don't need to stand up, just keep turning the puzzle to access whatever area you are doing.
I am very impressed with your times. I think you will do great at Worlds! I love the rainbow circle puzzles so much, I will definitely have to get one of those ❤
Good Luck Karen!
Just watched your old championship videos - so excited for the next one!
i did a puzzle for the first time in forever last week, it was a pretty difficult 1500 piece one but i did it pretty fast because i knew what to do from watching your channel lol, was fun!
3:10 Well played to the prankster who put that note in the box. Well played.
Hope you and the other Misfits have fun at Worlds and get in some sightseeing to unwind afterwards. Safe journey.
When I worked at Bath & Body Works many years ago, we would use the corners of Body Cream tubes to open boxes when we couldn't find the box cutter... I wonder what the judges would think of that?
Karen I hope you're having fun in Spain! Your channel recently had me picking up puzzling again. The first puzzle I bought is the Rainbow Cake (which I'm nearly finished with now) so I was geeked to see you solve it! It has certainly taken me much, much longer to complete but I knew you'd point out those funny-shaped pieces, lol. Good luck!
Good luck for Worlds!!! Enjoy Spain and all the colours and shapes of jigsaws there!!
In minute 15:53. The Spanish contest Penya Tararots... I was there. That was so much fun. Soraya was amazimg, amd Gabi too.
Best of luck in Spain! Can't wait to watch! I think you're ready! Safe travels!
Good luck ! I can’t wait to see how you do and the video from when you get back !! Have an amazing time in Spain !
Good luck Karen!! Will be cheering you on from Texas!! 🎉
I love that I found your channel. Gab Smoulders mentioned you in her livestream "the room" 10 year anniversary unboxing video while she was assembling the lego display. And then I went "wait there are people who let's plays jigsaw puzzles?" And I have been binging your episodes they are so relaxing to watch while I'm working
Good Luck at the Worlds Karen!! I love the Circular COLOR Puzzles the best. I have only done 1 500 piece puzzle and it took me 5 hours, but then I didnt stop the clock for breaks and interruptions and it was my first one and I was not speeding. I just wanted to finish it!! I will be watching you and your team very closely!!
You are the gradient puzzle queen after all 😅 the way you blitz through these skies is amazing. 😲
I would love to do the flower Circle of COLORS puzzle!
I wish you the best for worlds. Most important: have fun!
Wow, you were 15 minutes faster than me on #4 and I do not consider myself to be a slow puzzler. But that means I have cool things to learn in the future!
Awesome. Good luck! I’ll be watching. Thanks for sharing!
Can't wait to watch the livestream of you winning this week!
The colors of your world are truly amazing! Love all the puzzles you chose to solve in order to practice. You're going to do GREAT! We're rooting for you!
I think for competitions, they should do new puzzles that no one has seen yet, so it's completely new for all competitors.
The puzzles for the final rounds are brand new from next year's catalog, so no one will have seen them. They only use already released puzzles for the qualifying rounds.
I love puzzles with all these COLORS! Good luck at worlds!
Round floral rainbow puzzle is so pretty.
15:20 - My strategy for this one is to sort by color and then put together 'sub-assemblies' from each of the color groups.
Best of luck and I hope you have a great time in Spain! Your nearly 1/4 million subscribers are rooting for you.
Oh no don't say that. That's way too much pressure 🙈
Good luck at worlds! I already own the lighthouse at sunset puzzle so I look forward to racing you. I love all of the colours in those puzzles 🙂
I hope you win…you are my puzzle hero.
As a seamstress I can attest the efficacy of opening boxes with a safety pin 🧷
I love the circle of colors puzzles. They're a really good choice for fun and casual puzzling. They don't take up too much space either 😊
Love those round puzzles with all the COLORS! I think I'd like the donut one best. I'm good with patterns.
Goodluck with the COLORS!!!
You will return victorious with trophies. Cant wait.
Good luck and have fun!!
Good luck at competition! I enjoy your puzzlement!
"Really good furr practice" I see what you did there
I didn't even mean to do that!
I love your videos about puzzles I myself just started doing jigsaw puzzles
Is really relaxing to watch these videos while working. She is so passionate about puzzles that i didn't know that a championship could exist
I love the circle puzzles. Good luck Karen 🎉
Totally made me wanna go buy one! 🤣
im so happy that you did the kitty one. my time on that one was 54 minutes. i finished my last piece up in the right corner somewhere.
Great luck to you in Spain! Hope you get the round puzzle with different colors of flowers!
Congrats on going to worlds. what an honor just to be there. I enjoyed the colors of the donuts, but think it would drive me crazy.
Wishing you lots of sky and colors on the competition puzzles 😊
Go girl, keep concentrated and fly through them with your usual grace and joy! ❤
Just a thought, maybe when you get back you could do a reviews of some different puzzling accessories? Puzzle mats, bords, trays etc.. could be a good way to keep putting out content while getting a little puzzle break (which I'm sure you'll need after everything). I would love to see a current review of some of the most common puzzle mats
Hey Karen...I'm so happy for you, sponsored going to spain...a huge achievement..good luck..be sure and enjoy the experience ...we will be watching...on a different note I found your puzzle at an elite toy store..I was very excited ..but then realized it was 3000 pieces..a 2000 puzzle was $49.which I can't afford (Canadian)so feeling defeated I didn't even look at price ..I wish I could have purchased it to support you..it looked very nice close up....you should be very proud of yourself, this is a real achievement
I hope you have a great time at Worlds. And thank you for sharing all those puzzles! I will be getting the donut one. I love it’s colors.
Good luck at Worlds! I hope you have a blast and kick butt!!!
That "one piece missing" card was super cuttte
oh, my library has that circular flower rainbow puzzle!! I've done that one!!! my time was somewhere in the 2-3 hour range I think xD
Safe travels and good luck in teams. Will be watching for sure...❤❤❤
I would re-do one of those (like the round one because possible used in competition) to not only suspect it will go faster, but to know the % it could go faster the seconds time for reverence done ones in the competition. It can temper the expectation of 2nd time but could also increase expectations and possible result compared to competitors. Good luck in Spain, and for most, have FUN!!
Okey, obviously I typed this before your last puzzle in the video. Lol.
7:36 ravensburger was smart to sponsor you. I went and got the circle puzzles and manatee because of this video.
Try filing an edge of the base of your plastic stand to use as a cutting tool.
Re opening puzzles at worlds -
The rules says “blunt” objects only for opening. I’m going to guess that tiny sharp knives and pins won’t be allowed in competition.
International airport security might also have a problem with sharp objects in luggage
As long as it is in checked luggage, not hand luggage, it's fine
Colors.
21st...so near yet so far. GOOD LUCK!
I would do Teacup Kitten.
Unlike you, you I prefer the really odd puzzles and don't like landscapes. But I never have and never will speed puzzle or time myself. I admire you!
Hey Karen, I found this channel today and love your content. Best of luck for the puzzle competition!
I really really appreciate the flash warning! You’ve probably literally saved someone’s life, possibly mine by putting that since photosensitivity seizures can cause fatal injury so thankyou so so much
Good luck at worlds, Karen! 🙌🏻
I followed you the whole weekend. Amazing performance!!!! 🧡🥳🧡
Safe travels and I know you will do great and have fun!!!❤
Good luck, Karen! So excited for you!
So i did inventory unpacking at my previous job and yes keys are the way to go. Or a pen. it's faster than opening and closing a knife and safer than using a box cutter. i've never had trouble with a key cutting through the tape. They can even rip through duck tape and other reinforced packing tape (the ones with string weaved into it) so simple plastic wrap will always be something a key with proper teeth can cut through.
it's also big enough to hold easily. the thumb tack and the cloths pin were too tiny for you to quickly pick up and line up with the box plastic. I'd worry about poking yourself with them which is what the championship organizers also seem worried about. You can't do puzzles with a bleeding thumb!
The best opener would probably be one of those business card sized, rectangular letter openers that has the razor blade inside a corner.
Wish you an immense success there in Spain!
This looks like so much fun, living vicariously over here! 😄
For the stickers i wonder if a small hair barrette would work? They're bug enough to be easy to hang onto, but thinner than a key to slide into the box better. Question is, are they sharp enough? I've used them for many things other than controlling flyaways.
I wish you a wonderful trip. Best of luck to you and your team!
So many pretty puzzles and colors. I like Teacup Kitty and Flowers.
good luck at worlds!! hope you have fun and it's not too stressful!!!!
