I was wondering if Chopper's monster form personality wasn't a hidden personality, generated by the many cruelties the reindeer suffered before meeting Dr. Hiriluk, and which can only come out if Chopper loses consciousness.
I suspect there’s something more to Chopper’s devil fruit. He’s supposed to have a human human fruit but when it goes out of control he turns into this giant deer beast. Also, one of the reasons that Chopper went looking for a poisonous mushroom in the woods was because he heard guards talking about a legendary mushroom that could cure any illness and the Hito-Hito devil fruit that Chopper ate is shaped like a mushroom. Finally, Blackbeard showed in in Drum Kingdom for some reason and some people believe that they were looking for the Hito-Hito fruit.
