Great video! I also have Everything Everywhere All At Once, X, Top Gun, and RRR near the top of my list! My favorite film of the year so far though is Mad God, an absolutely grotesque stop motion animation that combines Freud with Dante and horror with sci fi. Took Phil Tippett 30 years to make it.
Everything Everywhere was the greatest cinematic experience I’ve ever had! Not because it’s the “best” movie ever. But as the movie unfolded the members in my screening actually kept moving seats to get CLOSER to one another!!! It was amazing. We were a grouped mass of tears and laughter by the end. Unforgettable.
Everything everywhere all at once is just... what a movie. I wasn't expecting anything at all but came out of it having experience the best film I've seen in a very long time.
Austin Butlers Elvis was amazing, he put his soul into that performance, and the whole movie was a stunning rollercoaster. For me the movie of the year. 10/10

After a 4th watch (since I basically made everyone in my family watch it) EEAO it's still as moving, cathartic, awe-inducing, and still makes me cry everytime. Definitely the best of the year 💕🙌🏻

Just saw Everything Everywhere recently. I thought the Jackie Chan style fight scenes were great, but what really stood out to me was the emotional core of the story. I got really sucked into that and the score was perfect for the visuals in those scenes. Great experience.
RRR is my favourite film of this year. It's my best theatre experience ever. More roaring and electric than even Endgame's and No Way Home's energetic theatre atmosphere. Don't miss this wild & bombastic ride on Netflix.
I have watched it on Netflix. Wish I had watched it in theatres. But I have seen those theatre reaction videos on UA-cam. & Oh my God!! Audience went full on crazy & sooooooo loud. I regret not seeing it in theatres
I would have seen that had it got a wide release. I just couldn’t justify a late night drive home from 45 minutes away. I would have struggled to stay awake in the theater, let alone driving back.
I can't wait to see Wendell and Wild. Stop motion animation with Henry Selick directing and Jordan Peele cowriting. Both Key and Peele are also the main characters.

100% Everything Everywhere All at Once. Basically, "Nothing matters," so "Just be a rock," but most importantly "Be kind." I think the last time I fell in love with a film this much for recent releases it was "La La Land." I just absolutely adore EEAAO

My favorite movie so far - by a mile - is "Petite Maman," as perfect a miniature as I can imagine. After loving Celine Sciamma's "Portrait of a Lady on Fire" (which co-starred Noemie Merlant, who's currently in "Tár"), I couldn't wait to see how she followed it up, and I loved it to my bones. I hope you've seen it, Marianna, because I love your taste, and I think it would resonate with you. (And I also hope it's not to late for you to read this!)
Gonna see "Elvis" tomorrow, finally released in Argentina 😉. Controversial pick for my favorite movie of the year so far but the nostalgia weighted big here: "Jurassic World Dominion" saw it at theaters three times (a record only tie with "Bohemian Rhapsody"). My second favorite is "The Batman", I went twice to see it. My most anticipated release for the 2nd half (not counting "Elvis") is "Amsterdam", saw the trailer yesterday and I can't wait

I LOVED Cha Cha Real Smooth, and I think another movie you could put into the "warm hug" section is Marcel The Shell With Shoes On. It's a gorgeous movie with equally heartwarming and heartbreaking scenes. Contender for one of the best movies of the year IMO.

Nice list. I love warm hug as a movie category, and this year so far no movie felt as much like a warm hug for me as much as Petite Maman. Not even The Northman. Just kidding. You should catch Petite Maman, it's lovely.
Definitely gonna have to add some of these to my list of movies to watch. I don't know that I could actually rank them, but personally, my 5 favorite movies are probably: - Top Gun: Maverick - The Northman - The Outfit - The Batman - Everything Everywhere All At Once I wanted to put Elvis in there somewhere just because I loved the concert vibe akd the fact that it didn't completely ignore the fact Elvis was a complicated person (minus the grooming which they very clearly glossed over), but I just couldn't bring myself to bounce Everything Everywhere All At Once or The Batman.

You Won’t Be Alone is the only one of these in my my top tier at this point. My top four are all likely to be somewhere in my top 10 when the dust settles, and like you, I can’t imagine anything displacing my #1, which is After Yang. Rounding out my top four are You Won’t Be Alone, Nitram and Great Freedom. After Yang moved me more, and in more unexpected ways, than any film has done for quite some time.

If u adore horror movies , stop what ever u are doing and go watch “ TUMBAAD”.. and “13B”..Tumbaad is on Netflix ..an Indian horror movie..these two movies are not about jump scares , but story driven good horror movies..believe me these are one of the best..

I loved the categories you choose, it allowed you to seamlessly transition from one genre of film to another and it all just felt exciting and organic. A little somethin’-somethin’ for everyone. I’m so behind this year watching movies, but I definitely want to see Everything, Everywhere, All At Once (omg I *_need_* a film to breathe life back into my life), as well as The Outfit (sounds like great fun and I _love_ Mark Rylance), ..er… ooh, the one with Noomi Rapace (I’m totally drawing a blank right now but I love philosophical folk horror & bleak stuff when it’s done artistically (lol)), and probably X just for old timey slasher sake (plus I’ve had good results with Ti West). I did see Maverick and it was really fun and totally exceeded my expectations. Are you looking forward to seeing Pearle, the follow-up from X and have you seen The Sadness and The Black Phone? Those are some of my Top 5 Best Horror movies of the year, so far.

I loved the categories you choose, it allowed you to seamlessly transition from one genre of film to another and it all just felt exciting and organic. A little somethin’-somethin’ for everyone. I’m so behind this year watching movies, but I definitely want to see Everything, Everywhere, All At Once (omg I *_need_* a film to breathe life back into my life), as well as The Outfit (sounds like great fun and I _love_ Mark Rylance), ..er… ooh, the one with Noomi Rapace (I’m totally drawing a blank right now but I love philosophical folk horror & bleak stuff when it’s done artistically (lol)), and probably X just for old timey slasher sake (plus I’ve had good results with Ti West). I did see Maverick and it was really fun and totally exceeded my expectations. Thank you for your enthusiastic, heartfelt overview of all your favorites from the first half of 2022 and have a beautiful day 😊⛅️
For me, Dual with Karen Gillan was one of the better ones so far

I am sorry! I saw the movie Everything, Everywhere all at Once it is an ok movie, I would not what to see it twice. Except for the violence, it would be a good movie for children. It would help broaden their imagination
