I want the sneeze 😂
haha i couldn't get enough of it when i out that on for sure. just gotta run 21 psi thats all lol
ok 2 questions...
if i close off the trumpet and opt for full recirculation do i still have to adjust the soft-hard feature?
does the trumpet/vent always have to be facing upwards? i have a BH5 but the orientation has it facing downwards into the motor... is that an issue?
I have the same exact one and it won’t clear my intake manifold 🤔 I don’t get it 🤷♂️
@5:15 your car, by far, is the only one makes that sound. I’ve seen few videos with the same bov and all I hear is the psssh from the before run.
yea i hear that and I'm realizing the supporting mods play a big role in the sounds you hear from it.
I think its because it doesnt have a trumpet like other bov's. Could be wrong though someone please correct me.
@@willbuchanan337 yea I could see that, it has to have some kind of affect on it.
Good lord you're right. He managed to make it sound like an OG tial bov. Beautiful sound
Iv’e got the same BOV as you mate but mine makes more of a ‘psshh’ sound when blowing off, how do you make yours sound like that? 😂
are you catless? and i also think its cause that car ran at 20-21 psi but i wouldn't recommend that for longevity haha
Salvo Brothers no I’ve still got the CAT, okay guess that makes sense haha
@@Grim-STi I tired it without the trumpet but still sounds the same
This causes problems unless you tune it
The stock BOV is 50/50 vent and recirculation. The ECU is EXPECTING that air from the stock BOV and adjusts the A/F ratio.
So if anyone wants one of these for the sound, that's cool, but get it tuned for it.
i agree, if you want it to work properly and be perfectly safe it needs a tune
This one is supposed to be adjusted to recirculate at lower rpm, and vent to atmosphere at high rpm/high boost.
Hey. What did you do to make the blow off sound like that? Can you show how it looks?
its the tune i have on the car, its running 20 psi but i don't recommend doing that unless you have the right internals otherwise your engine may not last long at that boost level if its stock.
Ironically I was looking up videos for my 2016 Sti and this video popped up and I realized your in Coatesville in this video. I’m in parkesburg haha.
lol small world, my buddy has an 2016 wrx im in love with, their just soo aggressive i want it hahah
Did you have issues putting the STI TMIC back on the mounts it's bolted on after installing the BOV?
well i didn't have the right brackets anyways so it never bolted down right. but you shouldn't have a problem otherwise
I was between this turbosmart BOV and the HKS. This video just sold me on the TurboSmart. Great video. Thank you
thnx man, anything to help out
@@salvobrothers5928 just had my dual port turbosmart BOV installed today on a 2017 STI. It is awesome!
@@drudawg4981 beautiful, hows the drivability with it, I've been curious on others opinions
@@salvobrothers5928 I am still getting used to it. it seems like it shifts faster when I a mashing the gas getting close to red line. it acts a little funny when I short shift while in boost, it almost stumbles a bit. My tuner said the might have to do a little tweaking on it if it starts to bug me. overall its awesome, my exhaust makes these cool popping noises now. Made the car way more fun to drive.
@@drudawg4981 yea the popping was my favorite part about it and I know what your talking about when your light cruising the bov just looses all boost pressure and it has to build it all over again.
Hey bro love the video i have the same one weres the perfect spot and is there other videos on how it works
if your more of cruise type driver i'd keep it wheeled out but if your looking for less boost lag in between gears i have it tighened up
Oh damn that makes two of us in the comments!! I came looking for stuff for my 18 sti and realized this guy is close by in pa.
Were you able to get either a trumpet or the plug to fit under the pcv line on top of the bov? I wanna buy this but I really want to avoid running the soft pcv line under the intercooler.
haha thats funny how that works. i didnt look that hard for the trumpet but i couldn't find any by themselves and i dont have a plug either so idk but it doesnt seel like it would fit
Under low boost, do you get a little surge?
very slight its hardly noticeable
I get a little flutter, and the psshh... Is there something wrong or is that normal?
Sounds like a little sneeze
dude im loving it, it sounds soo sweet and under light throttle it has that flutter too
The amazon link expired. What the name of it?
this is the one i currently run on my STI, i couldn't find this one again. There was no name on it and i got it with the car without a box.

@@salvobrothers5928 Is it a turbosmart bov?
@@NsXy its an offbrand turbo smart
How do you get that hose clamp to unlatch?
if it won't do it itself then sometimes you gotta pry on it some or hit the one side down so it releases. they can be a pain sometimes if you want you could always replace it with a regular hose clamp as long as you put it in a good spot so you could tighten it up but use the stock one if you can.
I got an 02 does it require tune?
nah youll be fine it as long as you adjust it properly
What blowoff valve is that?
its a knock off turbo smart
maxpeedingrods has them too if you use the code: salvobros you can get a discount on purchase
@@salvobrothers5928 thanks man
the link you left for the BOV doesn’t work how can i find it
yea they discontinued that one so heres another one that will work amzn.to/2L2XebV
Hey bro do you need a tune for this??
nope although that'll give you the best results
Poor thing prop no tune
haha she held up nicely till i sold it, it had a stage 2 cobb tune on it but it was still over boosting haha
can this bov make some backfire? i have straight pipe ? or is bad idea to install bov?
ooh she definitely backfires, i have a catted exhaust with just a muffler out back and in the right rpm range or if I'm super light on the throttle it'll pop and crackle, i love it honestly
@@salvobrothers5928 does it stall at all? got from ebay or where?
@@pimpsahan55 i got this bov with the car when i bought it and they say it can stall on first start up but i never had that problem although it does randomly die when disengaging the clutch but i think thats a different problem cause it modulates the throttle some when its warming up
