True, but you have to appreciate how badly they contradict themselves there. Apparently, according to their framing, having Lando Calrissian and Mace Windu adventures made the franchise "unsafe" - yes, that existed as well in the "unsafe period". They, of course, don't KNOW that is what they said, because NONE of them has ever read ANY of the novels or comics, so they have no CLUE what they are talking about. Their best bet is to keep their explanations centered on what the movies actually showed, because their knowledge about everything else in the franchise is VERY limited.

KK and the head told us that starwars wasn't for men. They must have forgotten that they said the force is female, that It was made by women and for women, and for their modern audience. Seems to me that they got just what they wanted.
Of course, they could never entertain the idea that they made another flop that cost Disney millions, but it wasn't their fault. It will always be someone else's fault.

I've been a (female) fan since 1977. If this crap had been tried back then there would have never been any sequels, prequel trilogies, sequel trilogies, TV series, or anything else. The franchise would have died immediately. We didn't and still don't want stuff like this. We were happy with good scripts and movies that everyone could watch and enjoy. I never thought I would see my favorite film franchise commit suicide, but here we are. 🤥
sadly current generation has no imagination and is programmed/brainwashed with the need to feel represented, not being able to step into another character. even the actors need to match the role (then why need actors?) and this generation is not used to deal with failure as they re from the participation generation, everyone is a winner, so noone grows/evolves from failing.)

Don't forget the teams of influencers they bought ... I mean brought out for "Rings of Power", that worked out really well for them. I remember watching "The Last Jedi" and when the credits rolled I had a single tear running down my cheek as I realized I'll never be watching Star Wars again.

What are you talking about, to my knowledge if a lightsaber doesn't cut something it "bounces" like a solid object (beskar, very hard metals, other lightsabers), it doesn't just "scar" things like a laser , so those trees are very much cut by the flying lightsaber it's just that the blade doesn't go thru the whole diameter of the trunk

This galaxy that’s far far away couldn’t be farther away from what the feeling of Star Wars used to be. We’re not toxic fans. We’re passionate fans about a world that that was built so uniquely from anything else and to see it lose that light is incredibly disappointing.

I’m female and a Star Wars fan since I saw them in theaters as they came out. I am not into the force being female. If anything it’s not male or female it’s just a power source. Men and women were both strong in this from the inception. Pushing their liberal agenda down our throats is off putting. It’s political and who on earth likes politics?
The thing about the Force is that it represents EVERY LIVING THING. Trying to claim ownership of it for a SINGLE gender is nonsensical, when it represents ALL of them at the same time, or the gender of all the Force wielders who can access it. It's both universal gendered, and non-gendered at the same time (which doesn't even make sense, because the Force doesn't fit into that kind of classification as a formless energy format), because it's like a battery one can draw energy from to power enhanced senses, moves and special abilities, and that battery is compromised from everything living/organic around you. It doesn't "belong" to EITHER male or female either way (in what people traditionally think about in that specific way), and a connection to the Force CAN be severed in several ways.
It is like watching space junk slowly entering the atmosphere, burning up into cinder and ashes.
I am having so much fun and laughter.
If they want to tell good gay lesbian or whatever women stories go for it. But do so with the right intention. Every time they do it it's like they're trying to preach a thing. Just be normal and write the thing. Don't try to shove a thing down a thing's mouth. If Romeo and Juliet was written exactly the way it was but it involved two dudes, some people would be mad because that's how things go. But the majority of people would be like hey, that's a well-written story. I don't think they understand this s***. Put me in charge, we will be profitable in a week.

A show like this needs to make 0 money, ZERO. But because people will want to see if it's really that bad, this series will make some money and the people in charge will take it as a victory for their message and will continue to do this type of series. And because of that we will still have these type of movies/series. Because they believe there are people out there that like their message in series and movies. And they do not care about the money, only the message, their Message and because of the DEI and ESG they will have a job spot assured.

I've been reading books/comics and watching scifi movies for decades. During my nerdy journey I've met a number of 'nerds of color'. They were folks just like me, accepted in the same spaces I was accepted. Implying that black folks couldn't be nerds before is just a lie.
I feel like they took that group of influencers who did that embarrassing Rings of Power promo and hired them all for The Acolyte - them and all their buddies.

The thing is that the fandoms never really saw other nerds as "of color" in ANYTHING. If you had the basic knowledge about the franchise, or were willing to listen to others share their knowledge on it, congrats -you were AUTOMATICALLY considered a fan, and other fans would help you on any pieces of lore you might not know about or were misremembering. The only distinction ever made was betweem loremasters and newbies, and the loremasters were always eager to share their knowledge freely to allow others to become as informed as they were, and that is how the majority of the fandom could access knowledge they couldn't personally handle due to economical reasons - remember, fandoms usually consist of working class and lower middle class people, and not really many wealthy individuals.
On top of that, trying to break fan groups into "special groups with special exclusionary privileges" runs completely counter to the universal nature of fandoms, and the free sharing of knowledge and freeform discussions on characters/lore/events/locations/technologies/etc. (Franchise Lore and Canon) that form the lifeblood of such communities. Trying to establish little "kingdoms" inside of fandoms will NEVER go over well, because it's seen as trying to LIMIT fandoms in the worst possible way, against people who society has ALREADY pushed to the side as kids, and now want to take the things those outcasts cherished during that period and destroy the hell out of it just because they CAN. They simply can't figure out why they can't get any support for their "efforts".
Disney puts more effort into writing lists of excuses for failure than decent scripts.

Well, first of all, if SW is so damn terrifying for women, then why are so many women working with & on SW these days, more than ever before? Secondly, the ONLY woman I truly know of that has been forced to undergo something that can be described as terrifying because of SW is Gina Carano! And Gina went through that terrible ordeal because of the WOMEN working at Lucasfilm, not because of the fans that have always supported her!
The only reason any woman finds it terrifying to work on SW these days it's because of the other women working on it. The fans have nothing to do with it.

It's so funny how they try to force girls into watching these franchises. I tried to get my daughter's into starwars, Marvel, and ghostbusters, but all they want to watch is barbi, or the Dora movie, or some other girly movie.
