@Caitlyn A she's always the mother, that's biology. They'll likely want to know her when they grow up. Biological parents are sometimes not the ones who bring up children, but the kids thrive if the 2 "parents" love each other and love the child.

Bravo, gentlemen. I'll be the (single) father of twins through surrogacy very soon. It's quite a journey indeed. I wish you and your beautiful babies all the best life can offer. :)
@Andrew Walton I did a lot of soul-searching just to embark upon this journey and a lot more along the way. Believe me-- I've asked myself those questions a hundred times, and as you can see I made the leap, so the positives clearly outweighed the negatives. Will my kids (now four months old) have questions as they get older and notice that they don't have a mommy like other kids? Yep. Will I be honest with them every single time they ask those questions? Yep. Will they be surrounded by love in all of its forms for their whole lives? If I have anything to say about it-- yes indeed! There are a lot of forms of "family", Andrew-- and frankly, your narrow definition doesn't really matter to me or my kids in the grand scheme of things. Thanks for taking a massive life-changing decision and reducing it to some unsolicited criticism in the form of a UA-cam comment, though. You're really giving back to the world. 👍🏻
@Andrew Walton men and women don't actually bring anything different to parenting, only different parents do. I was raised without my father and I'm not struggling. What matters is a stable home and quite a lot of the time a single parent can be more stable than a couple because you dont have the threat if arguments and break ups
If I ever have healthy babies of my own I will definitely be looking into becoming a surrogate mother. I think giving the gift of life to someone else who can't have them is the most beautiful thing ever. God bless these two babies, the surrogate mother, and the dads
I want to do this but I want me and boyfriend to have kids at the same time by the same women. Same surrogate. It’s my dream but it’s probably very expensive
Here in Bulgaria it's forbidden by the low to have a child by surrogate mother ;( It is so unfair since I have a problem and can't have children. I wish my boyfriend to be able to become a father. It's his dream and he left it because of me ;( I pray one day to change the low and see him being a father ;( Actually I can get pregnant but I can't carry the child for more than 2 months. If the surrogate was allowed probably I also could have my own child ;( This low, isn't it a discrimination of people with reproductive problems?!

It will be much easier for y’all I’m sure. 2 moms churns out kids a lot easier then 2 dads. And maybe consider a 3rd or 4th? Just cause of the birthing crisis we need more kids and if you have love to give and finances a plenty 3rd or 4ths would be very beneficial to society ❤
So happy for them! It’s so selfless to carry babies for someone else. When she spoke about how it was exciting to help them by carrying the babies but didn’t think about the actually child birth part, that’s where I would be like I don’t know if I can do it. I would to help someone give them the gift of life but after having my son I don’t ever want to go through labor again even for myself lol.
Egg from one woman, uterus from another woman, sperms from two different men ,two babies. When these babies will grow up, they will not get a mother in their lives. I can not imagine without my mother. When other kids will celebrate mothers day, they will wonder how their mother look like.
What a dumb response. Do you say the same thing when orphans are trying to get adopted? Having additional parental figures seems like a win- win to me!

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful story. Thank you to the two handsome gentlemen for sharing their gestational carrier story with us. I cant wait to start my own journey next summer.
@Odiesmom But what happens when they get older and start asking questions like where’s their mother? This has been a fear of mine about having children via a surrogate. Children are very smart especially as they grow older.

I had 3 children and my first without an epidural and the other two with an epidural. My first labor I was young and had no clue about the pain and when I finally asked for something for pain my doctor said I'm too far now to receive an epidural so they just gave me some pain medication which is like a morphine and it definitely makes it harder for your infant to take that first breathe. It took some hard pats on back but you could definitely tell something was not right and you can hear the doctor stress and panic as he patting my son and saying come on buddy breathe. Thank God he did. But my biggest fear when I was pregnant the other 2 times was that what if I get an epidural and it doesn't work. I mean that happens like it did here. But yea to get an epidural and not work and labor is the worst pain I ever been through in my life.
However you become a parent is fine with me BUT I hope all parents realize that parenting doesn't stop at 18, and every child deserves a good start into adulthood. It hurts my heart when I see kids having to pay for their own post-secondary education - parents pay it, you brought them into this world and you had 18 years to save. Also, giving them a good start to life means getting them a car, helping them with wedding expenses, and also helping with a down payment for their first place. It surprises how many parents just parent up to 18 and that's it. You know all of this when your child is born - there are expenses related to not only their childhood years (0-17) such as activities, sports, etc. I get that not everyone can afford it but why bring children into this world if you cannot provide them with opportunities to succeed???!!??! In those situations, it's very selfish but if you can provide those opportunities to succeed, then it's selfless.
