    I know the lady was worried, but babies survive and do great with a lot more stress than that. It felt selfish to me, especially since they don't get paid. She put too much pressure on her having the sweep. Also you can't put your past trauma on her.

      I totally agree. The word that immediately flashed through my mind was "selfish". I know it's such a judgmental term, especially because of what she went through, but that just seemed so horribly insensitive to me.

    Wow. Kay is so selfish. Caitlin was very selfless, she gave her the most precious gift anyone can give a person. She comes off as self absorbed with not much compassion. She is emotionless, even when the pregnancy test was positive( 1st episode) there was no emotion. Does she expect Caitlin to have no stress during the pregnancy? Completely unreasonable.She should be so grateful to Caitlin for everything she has gone through to help Kay acheive her dream, with no financial gain. Pretty sure if it was the other way around. Kay would not be a surrogate for Caitlin. Sorry for the rant, but it really bothered me.

    Who is thinking about the interests of the child?
    A considerable body of research shows that maternal attunement plays a crucial role, from birth, in laying the foundations of healthy psychic development. Rupturing that bond with his mother, for the interests of adults is fundamentally inverting the duty of care to children. Rupturing that bond is cruel.
    We all have to start thinking more about the children and less about the interests of the adults.

      If they could connect with other human beings normally, they wouldn't need a surrogate in the first place

    This Kay Lady is something else.Caitlin went through with it because she was made to do it on top of all the emotional turmoil she was already dealing with...and she was doing it all for for free.Maybe its the editing but Kay came off as very insensitive beyond the fears from her own experiences

    Honestly, for their time, sacrifice and mental emotional and physical pain and sacrifice… ummm no every surrogate deserves plenty compensation

    • @ekg891
      @ekg891 3 місяці тому +4

      The point of being a surrogate is to help others achieve the dream of having a kid. If you start demanding that they need to be paid, you're asking for a whole host of issues like trafficking and surrogates who would refuse to hand over the baby if they felt they weren't being compensated enough. So yeah...if you choose to become a surrogate, you should do so because you're a good person who wants to do something nice for someone else. It shouldn't be turned into a "job" or business. That would corrupt the practice. If you don't want to be a surrogate because you don't think it's worth the effort then don't be. You're not forced to be one but it should be a charitable act.

      @@ekg891I think carrying a life and going through the most horrible pain a woman ever has to go through is gracious enough. It's not easy on a body and anything can happen. Hormones during and after can be dreadful as well. It very much is a job because you need to use someone else for manual labor.

    • @ekg891
      @ekg891 3 місяці тому

      @@feliciaw4710 well you don't have to become a surrogate. So if you think it's too much effort than is worth and you want to make a profit from it, then don't do it. Those women who want to do it for altruistic reasons and nothing more can continue to do so. No one puts a gun to their head to do it. The only costs that should be covered are medical costs. This is something courts and legal systems around the world that allow surrogacy are unanimous on. Turning it into a job or business (instead of something that's just charitable to do) would corrupt the whole practice and would not be good for society at all.

      @@feliciaw4710they shouldn’t be paid, they are giving a gift. Being paid brings a whole range of issues, including human trafficking and taking advantage of vulnerable women

      @dustmite723 That's all fine and dandy, but being pregnant and giving birth is not a walk in the park. Most times payment goes towards all of the doctor visits, etc. I am going to disagree and say depending on circumstances, some compensation should be given due to the gravity of the entire situation.

    These people are messed up and need therapy. A child is not an accessory that you can detach from its birth mum, who it connected to for 9 months. Sick world. It’s so obvious that the mom who’s gonna raise him doesn’t feal invested. Does she really want a child or is it because her friends did it and so must she? Same goes for the other parents. I hope the child will heal from this dysfunctional start in life.

    I know we don't have the whole story, but I do think Jordan ended things with her because of the surrogacy. In the clip before we found out he left her, he said he couldn't wait to "have her back", as if the surrogacy had taken her from him. And the "whoop, whoop" comment and when he said they could "resume the relationship" were all just red flags to me. Also, him getting really drunk and Caitlin saying it smelled like "paint thinner" in the room... yikes. It sounded like he couldn't handle the surrogacy and everything it entailed.

    • @petitehippie7064

      The surrogacy would have contributed to him ending the relationship at the very least. They weren't together very long. It's a lot for a partner to take on especially in an early relationship.

    When you have a NHS being a surrogate for no cost is reasonable if you want to or you just really enjoy being pregnant but if you don’t have an NHS wanting your medical costs covered as in the US isn’t unreasonable IMO 🤷🏼‍♀️ my husband and I were very lucky to have a good health insurance plan in America for the pregnancy and delivery’s of our 5 children our oldest daughter had a very difficult time getting pregnant it took her and her husband 5:5 years to get pregnant, as a result she is absolutely terrified of a complication or a loss s😢 is 4 months pregnant and just now starting to tell people they’re expecting 😢 thankfully I had pretty easy pregnancy’s and I was very blessed to have just one miscarriage and the one that I did have was absolutely devastating 😢💔the miscarriage I had is called a partial molar pregnancy and I had to have a d and c since my body was not recognizing the baby had died and in rare situations a molar pregnancy can become cancerous 😮 so you need to have the remaining parts removed.
