This looks innovative, for sure, and far better than traditional break-in. However, I still think that EBIS with the oil bath method would be slightly superior due to less stress on the engine, and overall simplicity. Time will tell, I suppose. Thanks for the upload, Ryan!
another great video showing these methods how to properly breakin your nitro motor 👌🏻 nowadays people are forgetting these right methods they'll jump it over into a quick method breakin their motor but the lifespan is weak after a month or weeks depends how they'll race ? or just to have some fun but these methods are rarely we can see now in youtube for some other people don't see these video showing these smart engine these smart machine will not only help u to break ur engine these would help the motor and the owner to not getting stress after the race or before race /tuning's and piston would be improved by these sorry for long sentences 🍻🍻
Tony Scott the throttle when in the + is usually so minimal that upping the idle can still make a difference. But I see your point. For the latter modes it stays at zero moreso as it is doing more throttle pulls.
$1300. Can still get them. Email me at lutzinator408@gmail.com Or you can run Alpha Dragon 4 edition 2 engines like me and they already come broken in for you! 👍🏼
Great video & a fantastic piece of kit Ryan Many years back somebody fix a engine to a block of wood When I watched that I remember saying someone will make a Engine Break in Machine one day It came true really handy to get the Engines all ready broke in.And also the Nitro Dyno Machines for power...👍🏻
Unfortunately this was too late imo..with the oil bath break in machines hitting the market, this is still a great machine for those who perfer the engine running.
Snazzy little gadget, but I think I'll stick with the tried and true 'flash it up and actually drive the car' method. More fun that way >:D. Also keeps the temps a bit higher than what we see here; I don't like how cold that engine is running. It should be around 100-105C during break-in.
TestECull you can program it to run whatever temp you want it to be at. Also the benefit is to not put wear on your equipment. But it’s just an option for those who it fits for. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@RyanLutz The optimal use case I see for it is someone who's super busy with other cars. Could put an engine in this thing in the pits while racing a different car or two, for example, and have it ready by the time you're ready to run the car it's meant for, or have it going in the background while the car it's meant for is getting serviced/assembled. I wouldn't mind having one but it'd be more of a test stand than a break-in stand. Still prefer to break them in in-car, but if I just want to verify it's gonna run right after major work on it I could chuck it in this thing. Flash 'em up, tach 'em, put 'em under load. Will it work with a pull start engine, perchance? That's all I run in my cars.
Thanks for the comment. The purpose is to be able to break-in your engine without having to do so in your car. When done in the car you wear out tires and driveline equpment and spend a mind numbing amount of time doing slow figure 8's or similar to properly break in the engine. With this machine the throttle inputs and a consistent temperature are monitored and allow you to break-in the engine with less effort and wear and tear on your racing equipment.
Brother that is such a beautifully done machine...BRAVO
Nice video Ryan, thank you for sharing, this will come in handy for me when my machine arrives (fingers crossed this week or so)!!
Instablaster...
Nice... I can see RC growing with all pillars. It's just good to see these things involved, making things precise and sure about your performance.
Impressive some one has put a lot of time and money into the desighn and production of this great work .

Wow! What an amazing device you designed and built. 👍
Very very nice, love how it rolls back to BDC. Truly is a smart break in mechanism.👍👍

Definitely what I was thinking of for convenience in 2000.
Great device for the hobby to strike confidence in break in and tune.👍🏻👍🏻🏁
Cool. But will it work with my Pro 70 BX?
Nice piece of equipment, but how does adjusting the idle screw with the throttle open do anything?
Tony Scott the throttle when in the + is usually so minimal that upping the idle can still make a difference. But I see your point. For the latter modes it stays at zero moreso as it is doing more throttle pulls.
@@RyanLutz wow, thanks for answering. Great video.
This thing is amazing! Are you offering break in service I hope?
At this time I am not. Just not enough time in the day with my racing schedule. I'll post on facebook if that ever changes.
I meet you at the Nitropit. In Arizona years ago

How much nitro is used in the process?
I'll have a good answer for you tomorrow when I finish this one up. :-)
Looks like it will be right around 1/2 a gallon.
So it uses 1,8927 Liter, right?
That would be around 1.2 Liters.
That thing looks amazing!
Can someone still purchase these machines?
Hello Rob. Yes sir. LutzRC.com

Cashanova Phillips if you are in USA then LutzRC.com
If international contact Smart Engine Facebook page to inquire for your location.
Genius!
This looks pointless. Do you have any data to show this process gives u a better, reliable, faster engine ect?
Thanks for the comment. The purpose is to be able to break-in your engine without having to do so in your car. This is for racers more than casual drivers, as break-in takes time and effort which they could spend elsewhere.
What is this?
Machine that assists in breaking in nitro .21cc and .12cc engines for R/C cars.
What do you mean by breaking? I'm French, I use Google translate, I don't understand everything
hey can you make me This Box. ? its awesome
