It's basically impossible to host any TF2 event without getting DDOSd because of how simple it is to find even a private server. And Valve suck so much that they will likely never do anything to fix it.
It is sad, I'm on the same boat with you, but the servers have been assaulted by bot hosts and ddos-ers for quite a while now so until an official resolution, I doubt they will play it again :(
I've been watching the Yogs so long that there's a little angry Ravs voice inside my head now yelling at me every time I get down on myself. I'd love to hear him be angrily uplifting. Like "Oh come on ya shite! You're amazing! You got this!"
Tbh, it's rather impressive that they could just switch games for a tournament of 24 players. That's a solid ad for cloud gaming. It would have been SO much work to do that on hardware. Future of gaming? Probably.

10:16 "The tf2 servers are all public, there's no private." Now _that_ is very not true. I was just playing last night with some friends from 2012, it was a nice nostalgia trip. The tf2 private community is still going pretty well today.
They were playing on a private server. He just meant that all the servers are basically public with how easily it is for random people to find them. This is why ddosing them was so easy.
I guess it's too late to say this, and I know the yogscast will never read this, but...People can easily DDoS ANY server on Team Fortress 2 with any information, such as pressing Tab to open the scoreboard in-game, which reveals the server address, or just someone being able to spectate which server you're in via your steam friends list. If you don't show yourself as offline, or hide what server you're on, people can EASILY find you and ruin the server. And YES, every single TF2 streamer have to deal with this because people actively pursue and ruin TF2 streamers' servers on a regular basis. Really not a stream-friendly game as of now.
@@rocketforthree4479 Yeah Ben said during the stream it was. I was watching Harry's POV and Ben jumped in the discord to say their switching games to something else because the server was getting DDOSed

They should have the next tournament be Pokemon Unite, just to anger Lewis more.
