Welcome to the video version of my podcast! The My Wife Quit Her Job podcast is a top 25 show on Apple Podcasts in marketing.
Today I’m thrilled to have Tori Gerbig on the show. Tori runs a $140 million business selling clothing and boutique fashion over at PinkLily.com.
What’s amazing about Tori’s story is that she grew up in a working-class family in Kentucky and started with nothing. She didn’t take any funding and bootstrapped her business completely from the ground up.
In this episode, she teaches us how she did it.

Great guest, My Wife. Your name gives you the perfect moniker to interview female entrepreneurs. Excellent work. She says a few really important things in here. Anyone listening closely can learn from her.
Thanks to both of you! And especially appreciate the host for asking such PRACTICAL and tactical questions. It's really helpful. and Thank you Tori! We love Pink Lilly.
I’d like to thank Tori for her generosity in sharing her experiences and success stories with us. I live in Hong Kong and am embarking on a similar journey- albeit in men’s fashion! Your interview is of great value to me. Thanks again!
I am too. I started an online boutique and at first I started concentrating on women's clothing but noticed that I had a lot of male followers on social media looking at my men's clothing. I would really love to focus on men's clothing
Wow what a smart women ! I just stumbled across this interview searching for a pink Lilly haul 😂 I already placed an order loved the purchasing process
Amazing interview from Steve and Tori. As an "apparel" person, it is quite mind-blowing, but the grass roots information re social media and community is really fantastic.
Starting my business in 2023. Covid really messed things up for people but allowed families to spend more time together. Great interview.
Thank you for doing this interview! This is the first time I've heard of pink lily and her story inspired me to go and do what i want.
Great information! Thanks Steve!

Such a great interview! 🥰
Great interview, I am thinking of your course but after looking at this I am not skilled to get that far along. Im not greedy and just want to get to a point where it is manageable by me or at least a smaller number of peeps. What are your thoughts.
But she and her hubby are awesome. They deserve all the success they are getting. You too by the way.
No one has the skills when they start. I knew nothing when I started. You develop skills over time. You just have to be willing to try
Great video! Your insights and tips on [insert specific topic] are truly helpful for those who are starting their own business or trying to improve their current one. I appreciate how you explained everything in a concise and easy-to-understand manner. Looking forward to more valuable content from you!
Idk how I got here last night but I'm glad I found your channel. You definitely have a new subby in me. I also liked this video and hit that bell for all notifications❤
Really nice to hear this knowledge
Looks like Pink Lilly an all-stop shop of some pretty average clothing but her story is inspiring!
Thanks brother
Thank you for this amazing interview. I would love to know what e-commerce platform is Pink Lily's online store with right now? & probably if they've jumped from one to another, then what would be their recommendation for the start-up?
I want to know the suppliers in LA so I can also do the same. Thanks. I’m home bound due to a chronic autoimmune illnesses. Not able to work for 10 yrs now. It’s like FashionNova.
Just go to the fashion district
I thought its FREE workshop ? but towards the end after registering you need to have a HUGE amount before things get going for you / me?
congrats these long videos should have timestamps.
Great interview
amazing
I thought no one using fb anymore?
great ???
Her husband made this happen every sells on eBay as side hustle.. he had the knowledge to make it bigger.. the business is going under
Interviewer needs to speak louder...please
She doesn't design. She works on copying existent designs. You need and must go to school for that as well. This is what most brands do, they simply copy . We need more real creators launching their own brands and expressing their own voice towards fashion. What we wear says a lot about who we are, think and believe. It's a way to express our own identity, values, beliefs and overall essence. Once you understand that and know who you truly are it becomes a game change.
wtf she couldnt stay still for a single second! 😵💫
I appreciate sharing your story but you must be the luckiest people ! This is such a hit and miss business! Now I don’t think this is a good ideea ….
Her room not look like millionaires room
What's a millionaires room supposed to look like?
Exactly! Some people aren't materialistic!
you need to scale wayyyyyyyyy back and try to help those literally with 500 dollars in their pocket...your strategies are useless unless you already have thousands upon thousands to start lol sickening
And all of the items are from China so you know it was cheaply made, LA fashion district is basically the here is the stuff we got from China district-- so get from China for pennies and jack up the price as much as the market will tolerate. Fast fashion and waste making is the business model.
how much did her teeth cost?
