It always makes me smile, Lindsay, when you say at the end of your videos..."Give me a thumbs up...." I give your videos a thumbs up before I even watch them! Love this video. I know there are quite a few techniques that can be done with watercolor pencils, but my biggest hurdle is knowing how much color to lay down in the first place. Laying down too much or too little color can be hard to fix....any thoughts? Or maybe another video....

This looks awesome! Rocks are my favorite things to draw as well... However, I struggle significantly with it. I have a difficult time with my hands. They pretty much don't work at all. I have to hold the pencil with the palms of my hands together and let my arms guide my hands if that makes sense, LOL. I have gotten a lot better at drawing though... If I work hard enough I do okay... But rocks man, on one hand they are my favorite thing to try and draw yet they seem to be my arch nemesis at the same time! I think I'm going to invest in these pencils. I love love love the muted tones. Anyways, just thought I'd share my love of rocks as well. Love your videos! Keep up the awesome work ️ ❤️

Lovely painting with an amazing video lesson! I am just a bit sorry to mention this, but I took a printmaking class in college and the instructor was also the watercolor teacher, I never thought of taking his classes as I had been painting in watercolor since the age of 10. He was the first “Professional Artist” who convinced me that learning never stops! NOT if your a truly dedicated artist! So long story even longer! I took his classes and one of his tips was using watercolor pencils for details and scribbling on the tape holding the paper to use a brush for larger areas. When I asked him when he discovered this lil trick? He said years ago at a clinic he participated in. This was 1980 so I am not sure what years ago meant back then, but I believe that you can say that you are the first on UA-cam to record and document the “tip” for posterity! I have seen others use tins and assorted bottle caps as palettes, but you using the tape was a first on UA-cam that I can recall! I do hope that you continue to show and share your expertise with all art mediums. You Lindsay are a treasure and I am not the only person to believe it nor I would wager not the first person to say so! Thank you.

Watercolor pencils are just color and Graphitint are watersoluble graphite with a hint of color. They have the graphite sheen whereas watercolors dry to a matte color. Graphitint is muted and watercolor are more saturated.

Hi Mrs. Frugal Crafter amazing artist lady,
I have a question I would love your opinion on. Although, you are second guessing giving reviews I value your opinion. Unlike mind of watercolors or Owens or those other guys is your opinion that matters to me. Now, with that being said, water brushes; I've never had any luck with waterbrushes. I've never been able to control the water flow. I have seen those Derwent waterbrushes with the button for water control but have hesitated to purchase them because of cost. Here's the question: does the button actually help with water flow control enough to justify the added expense or are the Derwent water brushes just like any other Waterbrush? I'd like to be able to to carry some waterbrushes for convenience, but again, I can't seem to get control of them. Does the button actually make a difference?

These don't release water unless you push the button. If they get doen to 1/3 full it is harder to get the water to come out so you may need to refill more often. They are easier to control tho and i like that they don't feed continuously. You could always buy a single as see what you think instead of a set.
