I reckon you've found us another bargain Gareth as that looks good for £1.50. Not had them before, however; I will definitely get them. How your chips have turned out is exactly how I like mine, just slightly overdone. I don't usually take salt with food but for that I would make an exception with some tarter sauce for the fish. Another great review pal, keep it up, cheers.
I went to my local B&M last week and all the freezers and fridges have gone. I was going to get some of the meals you have reviewed. I have also just bought the same air fryer as yours. I must say it's a top bit of kit. Keep up the good work. Top tip for the day is when adding salt and vinegar put the vinegar on first, that way the salt sticks to it and doesn't wash the salt off.
Do you have Heron Foods in your area, B & M own them so could get from there or Farm Foods. We had a big new B & M open up Leicester lot of Fridge space, no freezers though. Luckily we have a Heron Foods in the city centre and one about a twenty minute walk away from my flat and a Farm Foods about a 15 minute drive from me too.

Although Fish & Chips will always better from your local Chippy... These Kershaws Fish & Chips with Mushy Peas for just £1.50 per box (When buying two together) are fantastic value... Air-fryers are great for baking. I've found it does frozen food in about a third of the time of an oven, and at a slightly lower temp. And it makes the best toast I've ever had, with toppings, as long as you use really thick slices from an uncut. Kershaw's aren't great, but not too bad for the price, Farmfoods do them 4 for a fiver. Though I'd avoid the liver & bacon.
I love your plates with the big rim so much that I found out where you got them from (thanks to someone in last Friday's live video chat!), and I actually bought the set from Asda! Kershaws are a decent brand Gareth, they have a good variety too. Do you remember back in the day a guy would come round the pubs selling shell fish kippers in a basket 🧺 Majority of them were Kershaws.👍

I love the Kershaws meals, the roast beef and chicken dinners are lovely. I had the Kershaws breakfast though and it wasn’t that great. I shall try the fish and chips one now. I think Morrisons do x4 for £6, so not too bad 😀 cheers Gareth
Hi Diane. I didnt know Morrisons did Kerhsaws. Cheers for that. Ive just looked at their website and annoyingly the Fish and Chips meal doesn't appear eventhough all their others, (including the breakfast you said wasnt great) are there. How disappointing. But I'll try their roast chicken dinner and sauage and chips meals at some point. Cheers Diane.

I love watching your vlogs m8 but shit the bed I wouldn’t dream of eating 99% of the stuff you eat. You are a very brave man. There’s a very good reason why they have not declared the fish source 🤣🤣
Whitefish is just a catch-all term (no pun intended) for various types of fish, including cod and pollock. I think it's used to describe the use of surplus fish, cheap fish or leftover fish which is used in ready meals or fish fillets and fish fingers. Nothing wrong with it, they just use the cheapest fish available. So, if you buy cod fish fingers, you'll get cod, but if you just buy 'fish fingers', you might get pollock or some cheaper fish instead.

To be fair it doesn't look too bad, chips are done just as I'd like them. I reckon fish will be Saithe (what used to be called Coley but it got bad press as it's not as white as other fish) - which is a nice tasting fish. Might have to pop one in the basket next time I see one. 🙂
I'm glad you try stuff so we don't have to! Seriously, I do try dishes and, while some are satisfactory, I end up giving them a miss! Your channel is great as it shows how families can extend their budgets and dietary range! Can always bulk out with fresh veg to get all the nutrients! Price-wise just a fraction of chippie prices but you can't beat fresh fried in beef dripping! I always end up tormenting myself!
I highly recommend the fish fillets at aldi from freezer. You get 4 square fillets and are very thick full of qualuty fish. Come in cod or haddock (whichever is your prefereance is beautiful).
Please try the other Kershaw meals on your UA-cam channel.. they do the chicken dinner & Lamb dinner which we used to love.. the stuffing & gravy on the chicken dinner were so yummy x
I have these quite a lot Gareth. Great for the price. You can also buy 4 Kershaws meals in Morrisons for £6.00 they have a large range of dishes. Their most expensive Dinner is Pie, Mash and Liquor (a cockmey great) The Fish, chips and peas for just 30 Bob is a Bargain You cannot even get a portion of chips thesedays for under £2.00 I keep meaning to get a Kershaws Breakfast
I once bought one of those fish and chips ready meals and it had normal peas in it, instead of mushy peas. Not for me. It's mushy peas with fish and chips or nothing. Cheers for the review.
Batter looks proper thick on the fish.. I know they're only £1.50 but I think they should stuff a bit more fish in there... Oh and a pint of Boddingtos wouldn't go amiss for an extra shilling :-)
For a ready meal they aren't bad .for the moneyive had the steak and kidney pie that's not bad and they do a breakfast as well .but nothing beats your own cooking
I've had these for ages , many local spar shops sell them. They do roast dinners as well , alas they are a bit hit and miss. This one is the best of the range , I do it in micro tastes alright. 👍
For £1.50 you can't go wrong,I know you did them in the air fryer wonder what they would have been like if you had have microwave them? 🤔 Keep up the good work mate 👍
Great review as always Gareth! I used to buy the same meal from FARMFOODS. They're okay, but you're better off with some battered fish, oven chips and a tin of mushy peas! I used to microwave mine, perhaps that's where I went wrong? It was quite soggy! 👎😂 You need to try my TOASTED FISH FINGER BUTTY! It's really good! 👍😂
Another great review gareth I have had these and virtually all the Kershaws ready meals and they are all very nice and good value for your pocket the only one I haven't tried is the liver and onions and mash as I don't like liver also as people might have mentioned 4 meals for £6 at morrisons 👍👍🍟🍟🐟🐟
They’ve got a large variety of kershaw meals in farmfoods 4 meals for 6 pounds the steaklet and chips. Chicken curry chips and rice. Steak pie and chips. And sausage gravy beans and chips are all nice and worth the price I think anyway
My grandad really enjoys this meal, he often has it for his tea. I tried it today for dinner and was quite surprised by the portion size, you get a lot for your money. I'd probably get it again.
You have surprised me there. When I first looked at the brand, packaging and pictures; I thought it was going to be a face pull So it does show frozen meals from unknown brands aren't always dodgy A good find and a good price. It would make a nice easy meal for more mature members of society
I have had Kershaw's fish & chips and for the price they are very good. Add a few slices of bread and a mug of tea and you have a decent meal for less than £2. I got mine from Lidl
Fish looks really good plenty of chips good amount of portion I definitely wouldn't say No to that meal and going since 1946 it certainly stood the test of time.
If you spent £3 on one meal (2 boxes), it would still be great value. When you come to Greece, go and find some malt vinegar. The stuff we have here is weak.

Price-wise just a fraction of chippie prices but you can't beat fresh fried in beef dripping! I always end up tormenting myself!
Thanks for the tips!
I love fish chips an mushy peas with gravy, great review Gareth definitely going to try one,👍🏻 xx
Hope you enjoy xx
Gaza you snapped up another bargain. Miss fish and chips. Great video !!!
Thanks 👍
Try Lidl malt vinegar it’s on par with sarsons and it’s only 27p!! I love vinegar lol
I highly recommend the fish fillets at aldi from freezer. You get 4 square fillets and are very thick full of qualuty fish. Come in cod or haddock (whichever is your prefereance is beautiful).
Please try the other Kershaw meals on your UA-cam channel.. they do the chicken dinner & Lamb dinner which we used to love.. the stuffing & gravy on the chicken dinner were so yummy x
will do cheers
Try some of your beloved mint sauce on the mushy peas. I find it makes them really tasty.
I have these quite a lot Gareth. Great for the price. You can also buy 4 Kershaws meals in Morrisons for £6.00 they have a large range of dishes.
Their most expensive Dinner is Pie, Mash and Liquor (a cockmey great)
The Fish, chips and peas for just 30 Bob is a Bargain
You cannot even get a portion of chips thesedays for under £2.00
I keep meaning to get a Kershaws Breakfast
Got more to come Lee in the next few days 😋😋😋
I once bought one of those fish and chips ready meals and it had normal peas in it, instead of mushy peas. Not for me. It's mushy peas with fish and chips or nothing. Cheers for the review.
You're welcome thank you 😊
Looked quite good the the money, great vid as always
Thanks 👍
my fav is kershaws curry rice and chips
cheers Adam.
2 for £3.00 with bread & butter is a good meal for a Friday
Nice Gareth mate 😀
Nice one
Batter looks proper thick on the fish.. I know they're only £1.50 but I think they should stuff a bit more fish in there... Oh and a pint of Boddingtos wouldn't go amiss for an extra shilling :-)
tasty stuff that
For a ready meal they aren't bad .for the moneyive had the steak and kidney pie that's not bad and they do a breakfast as well .but nothing beats your own cooking
They look ok especially the price don’t know if our B&M does frozen food but if I see it while away will try it thank you
I've had these for ages , many local spar shops sell them. They do roast dinners as well , alas they are a bit hit and miss. This one is the best of the range , I do it in micro tastes alright. 👍
Cheers tasty this one. 😋😋👍
@@BaldFoodieGuy yes mate and you get plenty of it ☺️👍
Oh I love kershaw meals the fab 🙌
cheers Karen.
I buy these Meals regularly, I always add a couple of Sausages and some Curry sauce along with some Bread and Butter.
Cheers Dean, how are you pal?
@@BaldFoodieGuy - Not too bad thanks my friend, How's you and the family?
Cheers Dean all good pal 😊@@deano8403
The chips looked really good and lots of them
Excellent very good value for money meal at 2 for £3 really like this meal .
Absolutely
Looked OK
Enjoyed watching gareth
Best wishes
cheers Kizzy thanks 😊
For £1.50 you can't go wrong,I know you did them in the air fryer wonder what they would have been like if you had have microwave them? 🤔 Keep up the good work mate 👍
cheers Andy
Great review as always Gareth! I used to buy the same meal from FARMFOODS. They're okay, but you're better off with some battered fish, oven chips and a tin of mushy peas! I used to microwave mine, perhaps that's where I went wrong? It was quite soggy! 👎😂
You need to try my TOASTED FISH FINGER BUTTY! It's really good! 👍😂
cheers Clive.
Cheers Robert, yes got more to come pal, thanks 😋😋👍👍
They’ve got a large variety of kershaw meals in farmfoods 4 meals for 6 pounds the steaklet and chips. Chicken curry chips and rice. Steak pie and chips. And sausage gravy beans and chips are all nice and worth the price I think anyway
cheers Tom.
I noticed it said if you check the side of the box the code will tell you what type of fish you've got.
They should rename that product to Fish N Bits!.. lol
It's probably Pollock but it could be mixed with Freshwater Bassa as that is very cheap like Pollock
Great value
My grandad really enjoys this meal, he often has it for his tea. I tried it today for dinner and was quite surprised by the portion size, you get a lot for your money. I'd probably get it again.
Cheers Emma
I liked these a lot. SPOT ON! 😅
Me too Peter tasty 😋😋👍👍
They were alright for £1.89 let alone £1.50, I bet they wouldn't be good microwaved though! Nice one Gaz, I'm going to try some.
Hope you enjoy
@@BaldFoodieGuy Cheers Gaz.
You have surprised me there. When I first looked at the brand, packaging and pictures; I thought it was going to be a face pull
So it does show frozen meals from unknown brands aren't always dodgy
A good find and a good price. It would make a nice easy meal for more mature members of society
Gareth, it was pollock. If it had been cod it would have proudly proclaimed that fact on the box.
I have had Kershaw's fish & chips and for the price they are very good. Add a few slices of bread and a mug of tea and you have a decent meal for less than £2. I got mine from Lidl
Yes can't do wrong 😋😋👍
Never tried that type of meal. Looking forward to giving it a go. Cheers Gareth
Cheers Ciaran 😋👍
Fish looks really good plenty of chips good amount of portion I definitely wouldn't say No to that meal and going since 1946 it certainly stood the test of time.
cheers Peter
Good review again Gareth, tiny chips though!
cheers Sandra thanks 😊
This is one of my favourite from that range to be honest
If you spent £3 on one meal (2 boxes), it would still be great value. When you come to Greece, go and find some malt vinegar. The stuff we have here is weak.
Cheers Rappers. I've never been to Greece.
@@BaldFoodieGuy Check out Rhodes. 😎 The better half and I have been here 14 years. And no, we don't live in an ex-pat community. A little Greek village, 13 kms from Lindos.
Another great video Gareth, I like meals that save money. Red or brown sauce with this, and whole grain mustard yummy.👍
Something tells me this needs a bitta betta batter!!! lmao
That looked very tasty. The vinegar puts the final touch to chips
Yes I love vinegar 😋😋😋👍
Hi Gareth. Now there's a bargain fish and chips meal. Even if you ate 2 of them, you're still ahead.
The chips looked alright a tad overdone, I don't mind them like that. The malt vinegar could only make them better. Another honest review for the foodi's today Gareth.
Cheers 👍😀🤤🇦🇺
Yes they were tasty John. Salt and vinegar sorted them like you say 😋😋😋👌
I've got them in Morrisons and Farmoods, ok for a midweek quicky. Sausage in onion gravy is OK, steak pie isn't bad either.
Cheers John👍
You may have dehydrated the chips as they may have cooked to
Fast in the air fryer it may be to intense. It did look good though for £1.50 it’s a good yea/ dinner. Great review though🤩😜😋👍🏼
cheers Karen xx
