Wow. Killer cover. My story about this song. I've been a Trivium fan since my friend introduced me to them with "A Headshot to the Head of Trepidation." He always played that song on repeat. I wasn't a fan of the screaming. Instrumentation was superb, so I was curious enough to dig into their other material. The Crusade sold me (I was a big Metallica fan, and this is a Metallica-esque sounding album). Always thought Ascendancy was their weak album because of the screaming. But then I discovered Shogun. Somehow those screaming vocals were attractive. They worked for my ears. I suppose after years of training my ear to the beauty of the scream, I just recently in the past month have been enjoying the FUCK out of Ascendancy. Which song hooked me first was "The Deceived." It is currently my top Trivium song right now (and to play on guitar too, so fun). Like Light to Flies is my second hook from Ascendancy. I am happy I found the beauty in this album, because these riffs remind me of Master of Puppets. In its sheer heavy simplicity. It is a brilliant album. Thank you for the tabs. I like these more than the top rated one in Ultimate-Guitar. A+++
@@DragonKillur I am a Trivium fan so yes I know all albums, except Ember to Inferno. In Waves is the heaviest album they have ever released. The solo is insane, and the rhythm behind the solo is old-school trivium. The clean guitar section after the solo is genius. I respect it as your favorite. Great pick. My favorite from theirs is Entrance of the Conflagration. Love the OOOOOOoooooOOOOoooooooooooohhh entrance and everything about the rhythm and melody. Crusade is my favorite Heafy vocals, tied with Shogun.
@@PatriotIzzy Crusade is my close second, super good album even with no harsh vocals. What do you think of their new drummer? I think he is an absolute fucking monster and his drum bridge in Beyond Oblivion blew me the fuck away, definitely looking forward to more of his work
Gunshot might be second to flies for me lol. Every song on Ascendancy is absolutely next level imo. The cool thing about trivium is every album has a completely different approach but they all sound like Trivium. The Crusade is at the bottom of my list personally but I love all the albums. Just too good of a band. Youre welcome, glad I could help. The Decieved is actually next cover lol.
@@PatriotIzzy You gotta try ember man, the production is kinda flat but once you get used to it its like a less refined but still good ascendancy. The Decieved was on it as a bonus track I believe. Check out When All Light Dies and Fugue. Fugue is the song that got me into this band.
Up to this day the best tabs cover on UA-cam
