- This week we braved the winds and installed our 410W solar panels on the roof of our skoolie. We made custom brackets and mounted them using spring nuts onto our unistruts that we installed last week. This is our last video before the holidays so we hope everyone has a happy and healthy holiday with your loved ones! Thanks so much for watching!

For first timers, you two get straight A's for planning and execution. I'm not easily impressed, but I am with you.
Great channel and video.
Thanks man! Appreciate it
Love y’all’s videos! Thanks for putting this out there
Thanks so much !
Looking good, looking real good. I mean really really good. LOL great job
Hahaha we love you Clyde! Thanks for all your support this year! Hope to see you next year 😁
Ha I'll be here. BTW marry Christmas
@@clydecox2108 merry Christmas!
Nicely done guy's it looks great and a good amount of wattage can't wait to see your system go together. Have a great Christmas and a wonderful new year.
Thanks so much! Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you too!!
Haha I also bought my panels way earlier. They are 390W each and I only have 2 so far. But I plan to buy 2 or 4 more. Great job on your solar roof! Merry Christmas!
Nice! I think 4 or 6 is perfect! Totally depends how much you’ll think you’ll use. Thanks so much! Merry Christmas!
@@AdamandAtlas I plan to be 100% electric so I'll start with 4 and see how it goes. My battery bank will be 12kW (silicate salt batteries), combined together it should be good for a long time.
Nice! We are also doing electric and diesel only. We purchased ~25KW worth of LiFePo4 CATL 280aH cells. They are the way to go for cost effectiveness at a larger scale.
@@AdamandAtlas oh wow that's amazing! You'll have plenty of power, good!
Great work keep it up love you guys!
I love what you're doing and the paint colors are perfect, Merry Christmas and thanks for sharing. Hears to a blessed new year.
Thank you so much! Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you too, Bruce!
Hey guys, neat install. Love the low profile of them. If you are running them in series then i guess your building a 48v system. Looking forward to seeing that. Have a great christmas.
You guessed it! :) merry Christmas!
As I watched the video I kept thinking “why aren’t they unfurling the wires/leads before they secure these panels…they’re going to have to take the panels off again when it comes time to connect them!…extra work!
When we mounted them we had not yet figured out cable entry or solar charge controller. It was extra work to partially unmount them but we did that in a nice warm studio so we could take our time and do it right.
So sexy!! Great job guys, love the game plan 😂 we can’t wait to see the rest of your electrical set up! Happy new year!!
Hahaha idk why I’ve been calling everything sexy recently 😅 I need to stop lol! Thank you!! Happy new year you guys!!
Hello Adam and Steph! Love your beautiful bus! I have a bus the same size as yours and have also gotten two huge (450 watt each) panels for my roof so far. I have been having trouble finding any heavy duty racks like the ones you guys have… where did you guys get yours? :)
Hello there! We got our unistruts from a local electrical shop! Hope that helps with your search :)
Its been over a year now... how are the hockey pucks holding up?
Do you feel the angle of the panels has hindered performance an anyway?
The hockey pucks and the rooftop deck as a whole has been flawless! And the panels are producing about 1350w of the theoretical 1640w in the summer. Performance is defiantly reduced in the winter, but i have plans to make the panels tiltable to dramatically improve winter performance
@AdamandAtlas thanks for the fast reply! Good luck with your build. Keep your head up life gets tough sometimes. As Dory sais in Finding Nemo, keep swimming swimming swimming.
what are the dimensions of the panel ? great work btw
and do you have a link or website where i could buy them ? thank you
They’re about 1 meter x 2 meters. Thanks!
Not sure where to find them online! We have personal connections with a supplier. They’re LG NeON 2 410W panels. When I look them up it looks like only the bifacial ones are available.
Thinks guys I had a professional electrician told me today unstretch wouldn’t work on a bus I knew he was wrong.
No problem! Electricians know very little about solar, and diddly squat about busses lol
what brand are your panels and where did you get them?
They are 410W NeOn 2 commercial LG solar panels and we got them from a friend who is a supplier
2007?! I thought this bus was a 2006.
The chassis is a 2006, the engine is 2005, and the ownership is 2007. So we’re sticking with the ownership model year of 2007. Merry Christmas!
