Whether the better players were in the minority or majority is kinda moot. Like, there can be an orchestra of 100 with 99 playing perfectly, but if just 1 is a bit off, you don't hear it as 99 nailing it plus 1 a bit off- subjectively you hear it as everyone a bit off. i do have to say however, 'cut em some slack' they're there to participate and have fun. Each individual will evolve at whatever pace, when the time is right for them.
This is truly amazing😊! The every accented note and how they really pulled off playing ffffffffff. The clarinets was able to hit the high notes really easily

we have it after winter break since half our bands usally away before break and to give the 6th grade band extra practice 6th Grade band will still sound like this
Our 5th grade beginning band only gets band 2 days a week so they don’t perform until the very end of the year. It still ends up being super bad tho. It’s just part of the learning process. Everyone sounds bad at first. Especially if you have people who don’t even really want to do it there.
Nope, the cuts in this video imply that this is a classic orchestra teacher joke with new students where the conductor has them play bad on purpose the first time and then good the second time. They just cut out the parts where the conductor sets up the joke. If anything, they were nervous people wouldn’t get the joke and think they were actually bad or unprepared when they’re not.
Hi, I’m a honor band clarinet player. -Unless there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with your clarinet, it SHOULD NOT be squeaking that much, if at all. The only reason it’s doing that is because the players are doing something incorrectly (ex. Their reeds may not be on correctly, there’s too much mouthpiece in their mouth, etc.) -You can barely hear the woodwinds playing (unless they’re squeaking) this may be because there are a ton of brass players and not a lot of woodwinds, one way to fix this is to tell the brass players to play quieter, and the woodwinds to play slightly louder. -Almost everyone in that room had an incorrect posture. In band, you are supposed to sit upright on the edge of your seat, with your feet flat on the floor. This is to help you get more air per breath as your lungs aren’t compressed this way. You can even see a girl on the far left side of the screen at 0:15 with her legs crossed. TL;DR: Clarinet players suck, brass section is too loud, people have bad band posture.
To be fair, this is one of the harder pieces. Of everything I have accomplished so far on my trumpet, I still have not been able to tackle hot cross buns. Maybe in the next decade I can finally play it.
