      Glad you enjoyed it, I find it best in May and early June.

    Hi Lindsay, I like these type of nymphs, this GREENWELL UV Cruncher is just the job. As an aside a badger cape is black core with white tips, just me being pedantic mate, keep up the good work. Cheers Jimf

    Haven't used this fly before but tomorrow I will tie a few up and prepare for a dynamite day on the river. Much appreciated.

    Pheasant tail is such a useful body material! There are so many variations of Sawyer’s original fly now and they all catch trout!
    This pattern will be a welcome addition to my box! Thanks and tight lines!

      Yes they are, I wouldn't be without a nice pheasant tail in my kit.

    I suspect this will certainly be a killer Lyndsay. It looks just the part and I’ll be giving it a try. Thank you for another one dude.

    Crunchers are part of the natural progression and evolution of both the pheasant tail nymph and nymphs in general. Like with cormorants. They can cover from buzzers to pin fry. When used correctly they work. So they both deserve their place as one of the top ten all round great Stillwater flies

    Cracking fly!!! Lindsay where are you getting your hen capes from they look a bit better quality than a standard one?

      Hi Phil, I think that one came from Cookshill.

    I don't tie anymore but like to watch. You are getting short of glue would a touch of varnish not do the same job?

    Natural Pheasant tail, I found a source that sells tails to train hunting dogs, I like the combination..,

    Do you recomend this cruncher for the river on may fly time ?

    • @lindsayiflyfish
      @lindsayiflyfish 2 роки тому +1

      I dare say it would work but it is primarily a Stillwater pattern.
