- Here is an Xbox accessory that will be a necessity if your audio jack is known for breaking on your Xbox One or Xbox Series X controller. Use this media control adapter to plug in via the Xbox expansion slot on the controller instead.

64 dollars is a lot
Yeah but if you break your controllers it’s less money to do this
Probably one of the worst purchases of my life.
bought one for 30 bucks at eb games, came with the headset
11¹¹😊1😊😊😊
Honestly not one of them have eve broken on me, the headphones yes not that Jack lol
I own 4 controllers 3 of the audio jax have broken the only reason the 4th one hasn’t broken yet is because it’s new and now I use a wireless headset lol
Same
Same
Yeah i m soo confused how have he managed to do that
Every Xbox controller I've owned had it's headphone jack break in less than a week
The adapter is just a nice thing to have, a lot of my headsets never worked without it but work just fine plugging it straight into the adapter
yea i’ve bought controllers brand new and the jack is still trash, ever since i used the adapter i’ve never had mic issues
It's because the Aux port isn't actually mounted to the circuit boards of the controller, it's just squished in between them so if you have a headset plugged in and the Aux gets pulled violently in some direction (maybe you dropped your remote) then the Aux port's pins don't line up with the contacts on the circuit board anymore as it's free to slide around inside the controller when force in applied
Literally 0 and I’ve had this controller since 2016.
Edit: ofc not the "new" controller but the One S version
He has the Series X/S one tho, I think the quality of the audio jack might be worse or something.
Lucky
You’ve had a controller that came out at the end of last year since 2016? Yeah ok mate
@@jakehudson1163 wow one more button. Theyre the same controller
@@jakehudson1163 The Xbox One S controller obv, they look identical except for the extra button (that I didn't even see)
Never. None of my jacks have ever broken, I’ve only ever worn out the joysticks
Facts
Ive had to replace my mic jack 4 times
But its better than buying a new controller
Same
The sticks and triggers, and maybe the XABY buttons
Definitely buy this, had this for 2-2/1 years and hasn’t broken yet. 10/10 purchase
I’m jealous of everyone saying they haven’t had this break. Had one controller where it completely died and my current controller is finicky as all hell with it. Can’t wait for my series x so I can actually use it for a couple of days before the jack breaks again
I ordered a repair kit that came with some mic jacks. Its very easy to replace. Or if your not into doing that you can use the app to join parties with people
Remember to buy a spare Xbox One controller so you can still play when the right trigger on your Series X controller won’t retract after 5 minutes of normal use.
After 4 Series X controllers I gave up on them.
@@thomaspetersen3220 Wow
Stick drift will start happening pretty soon :/
Those are actually really really useful, they amplify volume and provide stereo and surroundsound audio for your headset
Tysm! The jacks break so easily and that’s one of the reasons I had to get a new controller. Ty!
Back when I bought my first headset for the Xbox one, one of those adapters came with it because the controllers didn't even have headphone jacks back then. Even when I got a new controller with a jack, I kept using the adapter because I liked being able to change my audio and mute/unmute the headset without opening a menu in the middle of a game. Sadly, I finally had to say goodbye to that little adapter when I got a Series X since it doesn't work properly on the Series X controllers :(
Check out turtle Beach recon Controller for xsx/s
Not gonna lie, that’s really cool and useful
How it called. I want the same one, but can’t find it
@@freoxide7426 he put a link in the description bro
The thing that always breaks for me is the USB port in the front of the controller next to the home button
If that’s the problem get a rechargeable battery
Never had one of those break either
@@xrysnx8636 oh I already do have one but the issue is my pc doesn't have Bluetooth for whatever reason and that isn't really an issue except for when I want to use my controller, since it doesn't have Bluetooth I have to use a USB to use a controller except the USB port is broken so L ig lol
For me either
@@xrysnx8636 that does not work beacause the USB can't charge through a broken USB port
I’ve always had an adapter
My just broke recently. That’s actually a good idea i haven’t thought of, thanks champ
This little adapter is one of the only things I still miss about Xbox
Him: I’ll put a link in the description
Me: how do I find descriptions on UA-cam shorts?
The chat pad also has a mic port and mic controls
Great video Mick keep up the good work ❤️👍 theres 28 more days until my birthday! 😎
@@flti thanks! ❤
Honestly this thing is amazing if you have one of those headphones that in order to mute the mic you have to slide a button or make some weird stuff, and I'm even amazed that the volume stuff works even without Xbox voicechat parties, you can literally mute the game audio but if you are talking with someone you can make it so that's the only thing you can hear, if you happen to find one get it you won't regret it.
I haven’t broken a Jack yet, but I also have only used that thing since 2014 when the xbox headphones came with that lol
You’re a legend, mate.
You can get a brand new controller for 7 bucks more
But you can use that saved 7 dollars for a hot wheels car lol
@@yeetyaboi 😂😂😂
@mestre da diversão why
@mestre da diversão He said that the accessory shown in the vid is $7 less than a new controller, not that you can get a controller for $7? How does this make us lucky?
@mestre da diversão new controls in the US are $60-70 how much are they there?
That jack is modular literally is loose in the controller but pressing on metal pins
I know right, so friggin dodgy! The friction wears away the copper pads on the board after enough use on some of them. Fail design imo
@@TinkerManMick Even then, it was probably a marketing ploy to get people to buy this thing. Make a problem, sell a solution.
I've had them break and they're also very easy to fix the piece is plug in not soldered to the controller you can order the piece or take it from a broken controller and put it in
omg when he puts that adapter on it makes his controller look exactly like mine
Stop you help me SO SO SO MUCH I LOVE YOU
I hate that Xbox is allowed to do this but I have one of these adapters and love it. Its so easy to modify you audio settings instead of stopping a game and manually opening the settings
Wireless headphones are amazing and a good pair are like $100 turtle beach ones best purchase ive made in a while
I actually went through about 3 controllers in like 4 years of playing all because of the headphone jack starting to go bad. I wish I knew about this when i still played Xbox xD
Lmao
Thanks man the jack is always breaking for no reason
I got a fix for that audio jack so what u want to do is get a skewer put the flat side in the hole and push it a bit to fix it as when u drop the controller the electronics get disloged and this is its fix
I’ve had the little earpiece headset that came with the Xbox one since 2014 with that giant thing in it and it’s never broke, while a pair of jack plug headphones I had for 2 years started falling apart lol
Hi my Xbox has. NO Sound it only has sound if I’m in a Xbox party other than that it’s just silence
Help
Are you using your headphones or the TV sound?
You need to check your audio balancing. You problbly turned down game volume and chat volume all the way up
Open the xbox menu with your headphones plugged in and go down to the audio icon and select it, if the middle slider is grayed out just unplug your headset and plug it back in slowly and keep doing it until it's not grayed out and then it should be unlocked and you can change whether you want to hear the party or game more using the slider. When it's gray it just locks it to hear party only. Also you might have to do this every time you turn on your Xbox or unplug your headset
@@sheepygaming4760 no matter what I hear nothing
@@TapiocaMCZ headphones
The extender works great I’ve had it for over 4 years works great
Take care of your things they don’t break. I’ve never had anything break on my controller.
It's really just luck of the draw when it comes to the headjack port. I'm not sure how it is for the elite controllers, but on the basics the ports will either break within a month of using it (regardless of how rough you are), or will last you forever.
@@BibsideonStatue the jack always breaks so i bought a wireless headphones for my ps4
I mean u clearly just havent played enough.. controllers last about 2-4 years with me
Yep that's what I've been seeing too, some have great headphone ports, some are just ass. I've seen my friends have good headphone ports, but mine but in less than a week.
My friend bought his Xbox second hand and I hear cracking and static noises from his mic, he tried getting a new mic but it still happened so I’m hoping this little gadget will help him fix it :)
the jack only broke on me once but I would love to get one of those adapters!
“oi plug ee in da bo’um of me controyla”
I’ve had my Xbox for 4 years and it hasn’t broken 😎
I can’t even remember the last time I used it been on the wireless game for a minute
Never had this problem. But I don't recommend using that attachment cause it cuts the volume down by 25%
I had one that I randomly found and it felt like it was quite quieter and I didn't realize it actually did that
The head phone jacks on the controller aren't solder in so they don't break the same way normal jacks do.
I always wondered what that was for. so many people have them
Hi! Please make a video where you show me where I can buy an accessory that plugs into the bottom of the controller? Thanks!
Yeah I have one of those a jack broke and then I was like hmmm I’ll just get this
I had to buy one of these cos my audio was extremely distorted when I got new headphones
I've had to use a headset mixer for years since the audio jack is garbage. It doesn't even send sound to my headset anymore, even on my new controller.
I love those
my jack hasn’t completely broken but if i move my headset wire a little bit it will make a loud crackle noise. i know it’s not my headset bc i tried it with my other controller and it’s completely fine
Im suprised i didnt hear "bobs your auntie"
I don't use the individual headphone jack but the adapter slot on the newer Xbox controller has gone out twice on 2 separate controllers that I've had to send to Microsoft
I always use the adapter or the chatpad if only for the ease of volume control. Now if only Microsoft would implement a left/right audio balance setting.
the thing that goes into the hole ur talking about in the video would break and get stuck in my freinds controller all the time
I've had the adapter ever since it came out
The keyboard one is good as well
ithought iwas the only one bro thanks heaps
Or you can buy the much more useful chatpad attachment which has the same stuff + a keyboard
I have that exact controller and the mic adapther thingy
In the Xbox One that adapter comes with the Xbox Live headset already plugged in so you can't remove the headset from the adapter
I have the keyboard one. Best choice I’ve made
I never use my headjack and I'll always use that
This controller is probably new, how did you broke it?
@@flti makes sense
I have the exact same blue controller my jack is stuck so I have to connect a new headset to my moniter but I’ll loose my 3d sound so I need visualise sound effects and I’m not used to that
Never had this problem but a problem i always had is the right bumper not working, this happened on 5 controllers but it kinda just fixed itself
That happend to me. And i didn't use that controller for 2 years until i finally got it out.
I kinda wish that the xbox one supported usb audio just so I dont have to worry about destroying the aux port on the controller.
Mine broke like last year and my brother bought two controllers just in case they broke again and they haven’t broke. After watching this I know what I’m getting if they break
I’ve never had one give out, and I’ve had controllers with those on them since they came out.
I made him say "who's joe" in his newest live stream
Just get the Xbox stereo headset, it’s cheaper and it comes with the adapter
Mine didn’t :(
Ahh the stereo adapter. Its good but the new wireless xbox headset is so much better
Me that already has these on a custom controler:
My 1st broke 2 weeks ago after almost 2 years
I've never got any damaged, I didn't even know that they broke often.
You have to be careful with those sometimes they break where they are stuck on mute I had3 do that
Last time i checked one of these were on sale for 70 DAMN DOLLARS
Can u do a video in which in which when you try to look right with the right thumbstick button it doesn't go smoothly, it goes jittery and sometimes doesn't even wanna move please! Even if someone in the comments has a fix that would be deeply appreciated my controllers been acting that way since I started playing Cod
I'm going to buy one of those
Only OGs remember the 360 chatpad. God I loved that thing.
Well, I had 2 of them broke in the same controller, fix it until something in the mobo broke and now that controller doesn't detect headphones under any conditions whatsoever, and my main controller works but if you spin the cable or move it sometimes is start sounding really bad regardless of what headphones I'm using, unplugging and re-connecting is the only fix. They are really bad quality, I hope one day Xbox makes Bluetooth headphones compatible so this stupid problem finishes
I have had 1 that broke and during that time I had to hook up two controllers to talk to my friends
dont make fun of my comfort show again
i’ve had that thing since day one
I’ve been using this since the first Xbox one
I've got 4 old xbox one controllers and I've never broken one but I'm getting a series s soon so I guess I'll see
Hey tinker man can u make a video on ur xbox controller not turning on
just get them at gamestop i’ve had one of these forever
same bruh
I dont use jacks i use turtle beach bluetooth headset and its good just pickups alot of my background
50$ is heavy expensive for a little plastic device, damn. Are there any good cheaper ones?
Ive used the same one s controller for over a year and it works like brand new. And i play frequently lol. I also got it used so i guess i just got really lucky.
Had those adapter things since day 1 never broke it
But they are usually more expensive than a actual mic
Me on ps and still watches
I’ve been using one of those for years and never have had an issue
Omg i thought i was the only one
I’ve had that adapter FOR YEARS and I’m surprised it’s still working (I’ve had it sense 2014)
I got a new series x controller with the aux already broken
Never happed too me tbh. All my controllers been on point all the time
Crazy how we use the same colour controller and that headphone jack thing
Mine have never beoke, but then again, i actually take care of my stuff and dont teeat them like disposable cutlery
A yes the audio controler best thing i could get for my xbox. Its realy Handy
