    I kept thinking in my head to tile the curb before the walls but everyone says “tile walls first” so it’s nice to see someone do the curb first. My thinking is there will be slightly less grout lines at the wall edges of the curb for water to possibly penetrate 🤔

    Looks great, but the grout lines from thw curb do not transfer to the floor, just wondering why you did it like that

    When you mark those outside curb tiles the back of tile should have been facing you because when you flip it your cuts were on opposite sides

    I can't help but notice the way you mark the tiles aren't you supposed to mark them on the other side so they would be level with the top of the curb?

    Is the Schluter profile "T" shape?

    My tile guy is using quartz on our curb. Also in the niche.

    Whenever possible, a solid surface should be used on all curbs, benches and high-exposure niches... usually matching other elements in the bathroom like the vanity countertop. If you are brave enough to tile a curb, make sure to use epoxy or urethane grout. Your waterproofing looks solid, but curbs take a lot of abuse and also a lot of weight if 3/8 or 1/2-inch glass is installed.

    How did you finish the outside corner on the right side of the shower? If you use that same schluter profile, it won't line up with the profile on your curb unless you tile the wall on the outside of the shower.

      Exactly!!!....curb is installed inside of the walls most of the time...

    Do you put a grout line between the trim and side tile

      I have been wondering the same thing! Can't seem to find the answer anywhere. One side of the schluter jolly strip has a built-in grout line... What happens with the other side?? Should we use a spacer or wedge? Should we make it flush/tight against the tile? Will water get in if we don't leave space for grout or chalk?... Especially if you're using a schluter strip for a shower niche application.

    Shouldn’t you tile the walls first????????????

      No...this makes the edges and everything look cleaner when you look down at it. Kinda like when you tile the shower you do back wall first then side walls (as you go up).

    • @hisnamewasSam
      @hisnamewasSam Рік тому

      No. Tile the base first, then the walls. Looks cleaner plus the water has less chance to seep through the grout into the substrate.

    I've been a G.C since 1987. I never had time to make any videos. I've been learning ever since day 1. You are still in the beginning stages yourself it seems. Build your business off hard work and learn more instead of trying to make money off UA-cam. Your not there yet.
