People are starting to wake up and I, for one am🙏 very happy about it because these pastors are not teaching God's word, and taking the money from the church for their personal gains. The money belongs to God, to the church to help those in need. Kind of reminds me of Judas, what he did to Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. The thing is, it is a sin for anyone in the congregation to keep going to these church's even though the pastor is leading them astray. The blind will lead the blind. God says, I never knew you, get away from me. It's listening to false idols.

I have lots of friends that still attend there struggling with a justifiable reason to stay. The fall from grace at this church is very concerning. I stopped attending before Covid and not one person reached out to me after years of service as to why I stopped attending. Their motto is "We're all about people".... just another Political slogan.
I had a similar experience! A friendship lost because I joined her one serrmon and saw her/other women gossiping about another woman. Gateway is not a house built in God's name.
11:20 or tv. Amen 🙏 I use to watch a lot of these pastors on tv and tithe with them, until I believe it was put into my heart by reading God's word, and when you know his word, you know if he's a true pastor or a false prophet that God talks about in his word. I started bible study with a pastor who is a true man of God, a true minister who teaches his word chapter by chapter, verse by verse. I give God all the glory 🙏 you can study with him on line, and your in church when you do.
Elders did the right thing. You’ve got to have accountability and transparency in the ministry. Shame many of these preachers lost sight of what God called them to do.

@@jimboskovich6027And the cover up by so many involved. Now the Baptist Superman Steve Lawson is added to the list of perverted preachers. Something about power corrupts.
I’ve ALWAYS said, people are smarter and know when it’s a lie or lacking clarity and transparency, so thank you to that church for stepping up with clarifying what they had omitted on the first try. Maybe healing and trust can be reconnected there now.
The problem people is its talent over character for most of these so called "mega churches" run from them they don't serve you. God cares deeply about character, your heart. if you have Godliness, He can and will use you, despite your talent or skill level, as an unmarried man, who has been rejected counted countless times by churches just because i am single this type of thing makes me so sick. also, name the sin, don't be cowards, don't have to go into detail, but don't hide behind it where they can just do it again somewhere else.
It’s also not about it being a very big church. There are smaller churches who are every bit as much of a family business or social club rather than a Church where JESUS is the Head, not an elder group of buddies or family members keeping things a certain way for a certain group of people. It’s about Godliness and we all need to look in the mirror and seek God how to be that.
As a Christian- I fully understand we all sin, are not perfect, etc. my concern as a Christian is the damage these people have done, not only to their congregation & communities- but Christianity itself. It has shaken my trust in others. We attended Gateway until the news hit. That church was the 3rd church we’ve been members of in the US that had scandals hit. Not to mention the Catholic Churches when I attended as a child. I’m still on the fence if I’ll return or simply join a local men’s bible study where I know the people.
Some pastors have been taken out by God who cares about the flock more than the shepherds who tend the flock. " For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be made known." Luke 12:2-3.
I see this discipline with pastors but we need to do this with congregants as well . Homosexuality witchcraft adultery divorces among church couples gossip etc should not be tolerated in the church… why are we so upset by pastors doing this practiced sin (we should be) but so loose in allowing unrepentant and practiced sin in the congregation ?
@@valerieriggins3184 I didn’t say that they should not be held accountable. Absolutely they should, but Church is also need to hold accountable their congregants because those congregants become the leaders of tomorrow.
@@valerieriggins3184 and where do you think those leaders come from? They come from churches that are not practicing accountability and correction in the church itself.
I don't want a pastor to bring me a "sticky sermon"! I want a pastor to spend time on his face before GOD to receive from HIM the message that Almighty GOD wants that particular congregation to hear. Every church is at a different place, and one sermon does fit every congregation! Prescribed sermons instead of a fresh personal word from Our Lord Jesus Himself is why the churches are in the condition that they currently are in.
Church leaders walk the "scalpel edge" when it comes to handling issues such as this. *Self-preservation mode* is a natural instinct, but it doesn't serve the health of the church. Leaders who become belligerent when faced with serious problems seem to just generate an undercurrent of hostility to those who are uncovering what they need to be aware of. Treating a congregant like they're the enemy because they are following biblical structures for exposing damaging things to the leadership simply deepens the wound that congregant may already be bearing. This is never a good thing. Knowing how much of the details to share, *how* to share it, *when* to share, godly transparency without feeding the morbid curiosity of some OR injuring the lambs in the church family are all things that have to be considered. Then there are also legalities that have to be part of the equation in today's litigious environment. Legal counsel from a biblical view is crucial to preserve the church, but often very difficult to find. The bottom line is that we are to examine ourselves, confess our faults to one another so that we can be healed, encourage those Jonathan/David and Joshua/Caleb relationships that protect and also confront weaknesses. "If we would examine ourselves we would not be judged with the world" is not just a good idea. It is part of the framework of correction God has to keep His Church from being diseased with sin and self-righteousness. "We are living epistles, read of all men." This should always provoke us to lean even more on the direction of the Holy Spirit and a commitment to holy living.
I highly recommend the book Bully Pulpit by Michael J Kruger. Our abuse experience became easier to understand and weee equipped to help others. Some great advice for hiring the right pastor.
Here is a thought I don’t know just maybe perhaps preachers and leaders should lean on the Holy Spirit and seek his guidance and wisdom and finding a sermon
Agreed. And in that leaning and seeking guidance, there are practical steps preachers must take to listen and respond to the Lord's guidance to put a message together for His people.
agree we are to lean on the holy spirt for wisdom guidance and concernment not what the world needs or wants to hear !!! even this guy doing the interview says that pastors can reach out to him so he can give them a script that will make the congregation follow. Did hear him correctly??? and it’s odd that his broadcast is based on basically gossip that’s really winning souls over to Christ. sorry but not sorry this is not a person that I would want to be listening to or follow .
Didnt peter say god would start cleansing in the house of god first Sad to say none of us are perfect Lets all pray for both sides of this GOD FORGIVE US OF OUR SINS
Don't elders on staff at any church vet the candidates for any position in their church? I have been seeing pastors dropping like flies in other states as well as Texas, and I can't help but wonder WHY some of them were hired in the first place. I really have a difficult time comprehending how a pedophile or sex offender, with a history such as an arrest or a restraining order, etc., can't be found out by the group of elders. Particularly in this day and age when tweets from the beginning of Twitter can be found! And, shouldn't staff also be super vigilant in listening to the teachings of the pastor, to make sure that what he teaches is Biblical? Going one step further, hopefully the true Word of God IS being preached from every pulpit? There are elders for a Biblical reason, so perhaps some of them have slipped through the cracks as well, which could be how many of the deceivers have crept into such high positions. God will not be mocked! My prayer is for the congregations. May the Holy Spirit give them the discernment they need in order to recognize truth from deception.
Within most denominations the vetting process actually occurs at the district or regional level and not at the local level. Then the candidates are presented to the board for interviews, and then to the congregation membership for a vote.
This is the reason why I stopped going to Church I never stopped Praying or reading the Word or Tirhing but these large Churches are consistently finding themselves in some kind of trouble either Morally or Financially.
Me also. I watch sound doctrine teaching online. I get nothing from the few churches I’ve visited lately. It just seems like fluff, no sound biblical teaching. I no longer like the emotional worship service either.
Cause complete transparency and openeness hurt megachurch tithes and attendance. I have real issues with any megachurch as the organization in itself inevitability pulls focus away from God and the spiritual relationship with him and places it onto attendance numbers and tithes instead. No man of God can preach himself into being a proud millionaire with a private plane because his heart wouldn't allow it. Money is never the solution. God is always the solution.
The problem is with the idea of Leadership. Matthew 23:10 , do not be called leader,, for one is your leader and that is Jesus Christ. These pastors see themselves as demigods. Christ is our leader not humans, humans are servants.
God does not care if you are democrat or republican, this is not about politics, it's about ministry and focusing on your God given call and being a Godly leader.
Please let’s not be so embarrassed this is Texas that we care more about that than the fact God is seeing to it that sin is exposed and dealt with Biblically. He cares about this lady and how she was treated by Morris. He cares when lies are told and coverups by church administrations and Pastors are going on. We need to care too.
These people are going to be in the dog house with the Lord. It sounds like they're making excuses for his behavior by saying it was a "mental health" issue. Morris's son doesn't need to start another church elsewhere if he KNEW what his father did and helped to cover it up. He's an enabler and not honest. It seems like the son and elders knew.
This is really sad but unfortunately necessary. The Bible is very clear, church leadership must be held to a very high standard. Yet, it is regular men that God uses for those positions. When a man accepts God's call to leadership he instantly has a traget on his back.
When your denomination is led by pastors and the apostles and prophets are cut out of the ministry foundation this is a likely outcome. Plus, you don't acknowledge the gifts of knowledge and discernment as Paul outlines in the Bible. Those with these gifts could have disclosed these issues but no, we only recognize the ministry of pastors, teachers and, loosely, evangelists. Sad. Shame on these denominations .
it's heart breaking, the state of churches and assemblys across our nation. we need men of god who won't compromise on God's word, who stands to fervently , earnestly, endued with power from on high ,called of god to preach the word of god with boldness, wisdom, compassion, being examples not only behind the pulpit but in there daily walk in life. as a ordained minister I would would preach like this but sadly I'm not worthy to pastor and many reject the .an of god and the truth of God's word he preaches . many members talk mighty tall but live like he'll nd don't want a man of god who will bust up there party. so sad I never dreamed it would get this bad. Shame on us. Papa wishing you well
Siri, I don't need a book to know how to preach. Need the Holy Spirit Jesus says he'll teach you and give you wisdom, and then you can speak all truth. Amen.

Matthew 3:7. Executive Pastor, Lead Pastor, followed by more Bible Study / Sunday School Leads. Then you have Administrator-type, etc. Put it this way, when you see your Protestant church turning into a hierarchal structure akin to Catholicism, it is time to go to a quiet place and have a 1:1 with Jesus. The church needs you, you don't need the church...with some exception (baptism). And if you are going to church once a week, maybe catching a bible study class on a week night, you really need to re-evaluate your commitment to Jesus.
They did, but only because they were forced to by the rumor mill. The person from Gateway should have also been placed on leave pending the lawsuit as well as not disclosing the pending lawsuit to the elders last year when it occurred.
No, they should have put him on temporary probation with possible termination after they get facts or something similar. Stop letting them resign. You could be putting other vulnerable populations at risk.
"move-forward", "elders chose transparency in the end"! This is all "word salad". Didn't hear anything about repentance, prayer, fasting & seeking Holy Spirit guidance from either this church or the author of the UTube video (Preach & Lead). Clearly earmarks of End-times church apostasy.

I am not a pastor, I am just a 76 year old lady who cares about you and each and every pastor. Oh, what did our rock solid stable strong and sound Christian pastors centuries ago do without TV technology, computers and cell phones ect. They lived, walked, and worshiped in the power of the Holy Spirit with one bible, and one bible only the “King James Bible” that contained not just some words of God, but every word of God which by the way those underlined words are missing in Luke 4:4 in not only the Jehovah Witness JW bible but every single modern English version either in the main text or footnote I don’t hesitate to call the devils footprints. Only the devil would make sure these JW and modern bibles are missing the blood of Jesus in Colossians 1:14, the deity of Jesus in Revelations 1:11, the Lord Jesus Christ in Ephesians 3:14, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ in Romans 16:24, the Son of God in Daniel 3:25. The devils translators of the NKJV and the Jehovah Witness bible and all the modern versions also does a clever bait and switch in 1st Corinthians 1:18 and changes the fact we are saved to being saved which is the devils works gospel. Does your bible change the strong convicting God given word hell to Hades ( a mythological made up Greek word) in Luke 16:23 and lots of other verses. The JW bible does. Is your bible missing Heaven in Luke 11:2? The JW does. Is your bible missing Get thee behind me Satan in Luke 4:8? The JW bible does. Only the devil would make that happen. Does your bible remove the warning of Sodom and Gomorrah in Mark 6:11? The JW bible does. And we wonder why our country is in the mess its in. The JW bible and Some of the modern versions are missing the word sodomites. Hmmm I wonder why? What I showed you is just a few of hundreds and hundreds of deletions the devil has successfully right under our noses removed either in the main text or his footnotes. When the Word of God in the King James Bible has been replaced by the devils 19th century and beyond modern versions should we really have to wonder why our country is in the mess its in, and you see this for yourself how God is taking pastors down mainly because they are preaching from the modern versions that are missing some very important key doctrinal faithfilled powerful words of God and some pastors know this and some have not a clue this is happening right under their noses. I have had it with the father of lies, the devil that is so deceiving caring honest well meaning pastors that are using the devils modern bibles I don’t even like to refer to as a bible. The Lord said in Deuteronomy 4:2 do not add or diminish from my word and he meant it and its high time we mean it.
Yes of course they did the right thing after receiving more information about the Integrity of Copeland, they realise he is just as bad as the rest of them, he also cannot be trusted, so we're going to get someone we can trust and let us pray to God that he shall guide us in choosing the right person, they did well.
Once again the hypocrisy, delusion and lack of accountability of religion is exposed yet again. The excuses on this comment board for their 'god' are sickening. Their imaginary friend could have prevented the abuse but, instead, did nothing. Do his followers call him out and hold him accountable for that? Of course not. But now, all this time later, this pastor is being exposed and what do the sheep do? Credit their imaginary friend with their 'god is great' nonsense. Something bad happens, it's the fault of people, free will. Something good happens, god is great. Pathetic.

Is he related to Kenneth Copeland? If so? Kenneth Copeland is taking gifts from people, like 70,000.00 watches, and 750.000.00 car from this man who had cancer and wanted healing, Kenneth didn't, and couldn't heal him but was up there talking about what this man gave him, and never said I'm sorry he passed away or anything to his family, but was bragging about the gifts. So to me he's not a healer, but a fake and excepting gifts, money, and cars for healing these people that never got healed. So that's fraud. Research it for yourselves. I appreciate the work you put into prepping this informative video, BUT Please do not steer people away from the necessary personal and intimate fellowship with the Holy Spirit that comes with genuine preparation while preparing a Bible study or sermon... That's the whole purpose of preparing the sermon, that the pastor / teacher has the privilege to fellowship with the Holy Spirit in preparation to preach or teach.... Sending them to a website where they can cut the time in their preparation is setting them up to become person to only give out information that is learned without preaching from experience with the Word HIMSELF...... Please stop this or I'll have to do a video on the ignorance of this offer and suggestion....😟🙏
You clearly don’t understand what I’m teaching with the guide. Assumptions aren’t a good idea. Dependence on the Holy Spirit doesn’t equate to spending a certain amount of hours in prep.
Oh Judy, how small and ineffectual your God is that his PRIMARY message to us all is lost in certain translations. God's truth can be discovered by all truth seekers, no matter what bible version we rely on. The Holy Spirit is all powerful and will not be thwarted by a particular translation. Sit 5 Christians in a room, each using a different bible, i.e., ESV, King James, NIV...etc and ask each to name the 5 most important scripture directives.Their list will be nearly identical. Reading a bible, cover to cover, no matter the translation we know exactly what matters to God, and what He expects of us. Added or missing verses does not change the main, significant truths of God's word. All truth matters. Not all truths are significant. Significant errors will be and have been corrected. The King James comittee realized they used the wrong Hebrew word in printing a commandment. They used the Hebrew word for kill, instead of murder. Thou shall not kill was corrected to murder. This was a significant error because without this correction humans would believe self defense was a sin. Significant error. It is not that errors don't matter, but not all errors have identical weight. "Straining at knats, swallowing camels."

Christianity is all about avoiding personal accountability. It’s the one thing that unites them all, so why would anyone be surprised by all the scandals and coverups?
@RichardMizenko That’s not what Christians believe. The gospel message is that you get a full preemptive pardon as long as you claim to know a guy, and that belief is shown by their actions. They cause harm to others, believing there’s no price to pay.

God is bringing all of this into the light!
They need to Stop using the shield of mental health.
Maybe avoid megachurches?
@@shanti2u554 Small churches are exempt from falling from grace?
Rely on God, not broken people, as we all are.
Some pastors have been taken out by God who cares about the flock more than the shepherds who tend the flock. " For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be made known." Luke 12:2-3.
Interim pastors Max Lucado & Copeland, (any relation to Kenneth Copeland?). In any event this church is not off to a good start with these 2.
Exactly
I see this discipline with pastors but we need to do this with congregants as well . Homosexuality witchcraft adultery divorces among church couples gossip etc should not be tolerated in the church… why are we so upset by pastors doing this practiced sin (we should be) but so loose in allowing unrepentant and practiced sin in the congregation ?

Leadership IS The Problem IT Starts From TOP DOWN! Just Like Parents, Overseers, Gatekeepers! Shouldn't BE IN Them Positions...... PERIOD 💯
Agreed 💯💯
@@valerieriggins3184 I didn’t say that they should not be held accountable. Absolutely they should, but Church is also need to hold accountable their congregants because those congregants become the leaders of tomorrow.
@@valerieriggins3184 and where do you think those leaders come from? They come from churches that are not practicing accountability and correction in the church itself.
What a load .God, always brings to light.
Kat Williams said it best "in 2024 ALL lies will be exposed!!"
Great thoughts! Thanks for sharing.
I highly recommend the book Bully Pulpit by Michael J Kruger. Our abuse experience became easier to understand and weee equipped to help others. Some great advice for hiring the right pastor.

God is sifting....cleaning house.
A script? No, you did not hear correctly.
Didnt peter say god would start cleansing in the house of god first
Sad to say none of us are perfect
Lets all pray for both sides of this

Read “The Harlot Church System by Charles E. Newbold. Then you’ll understand why organized churches are so messed up!
It's not just in Texas folks. They are just not calling out the "pastors" in Democrat states.
YEAH.....Where Republicans Also STAY! The Devil In ALL RACES And STATES To Deny That IS To LIE!

That is just a stupid comment. And wrong.
Judgement. Now. In His Church.
This is really sad but unfortunately necessary. The Bible is very clear, church leadership must be held to a very high standard. Yet, it is regular men that God uses for those positions. When a man accepts God's call to leadership he instantly has a traget on his back.
Very sad all these restaurants closing
When your denomination is led by pastors and the apostles and prophets are cut out of the ministry foundation this is a likely outcome. Plus, you don't acknowledge the gifts of knowledge and discernment as Paul outlines in the Bible. Those with these gifts could have disclosed these issues but no, we only recognize the ministry of pastors, teachers and, loosely, evangelists. Sad. Shame on these denominations .

Holy Spirit through prayer should be directing your sermons

@@PreachandLead Well I strongly disagree with you and I have seen what your approach is.....
