This is the most balanced, calm and honest review of PC3 on UA-cam. All the Sim Racing channels were waiting to shoot dead PC3. Even though they all knew that PC3 wasn't going to be Sim months ago. And after that, some of them still accepted a free early press copy of the game for views. Even I knew that PC3 was going to be more like a sequel to Shift 2 than PC2 and I don't have a Sim Racing channel.
When I watch these reviews , it makes the game look bad. But I’ve been pretty addicted since early release . Good game to build cars and take it out on track in custom lobbies like forza Motorsport 4
You are right! Totally different game and i LOVE IT because its SO MUCH FUN! I could drive no asists on highest lvl with my G29! Its something like Gran Turismo which I could not play on PC but now i can!
Jule Rulez Nope. GT Sport got tires and fuel and pits (optionally). GT Sport got tightly balanced car groups (mostly). GT Sport is pretty bug free. And GT Sport’s online community is 500X larger than this will ever be. If you like this, be glad you CAN’T play Gran Turismo! You’d hate it.
They should have called it "Project Cars: Go fast" or something, like there is Forza and Forza Horizon. But I'm looking for a simcade, and I hoped PC3 would fill my need, but I want qualification, pitstops, and VR. Is there any option on the market ?
This game has such an amazing feel in the controller to how the car really feels. Do you think if we copy the controller settings. And put those in other racing games the controls will be even more amazing.
Viper, you're so awesome. Like, I'm studying game design and you know so much that it's really impressive. I learn so much from you that I can't be grateful enough. Very nice video, wish you only the best
@@christophelemaire4551 Where's the fun in a game with awful AI that cheats, dive-bombs you, and goes from too hard to very easy without rhyme or reason?
Good review, mate. Just not quite sure what you mean regarding it not having tyre deformation. It's present in the game, and was present even in the clip you showed. Moreover, you can actually feel it while driving, and see it in most replays. It's partly what contributes to the excessively 'bouncy' handling character of the game.
You concluded that it became a simcade, but can you compare it to Gran Turisno Sport? Is it worth buying or are the GTS suspension, tires and transmission settings better?
I agree with you, this game isn't bad - it is different. It is an Arcade-ish similar to a GRID driving game but we have real-ish type tracks. I purchased this PC game on STEAM and when it was at a good sale price. I also got this game because it provides VR support built into the game which most of my racing games I do in VR mode. I do not do the Career mode, just do quick races - select car-track, and go race 5-10 laps with the AI. This game is strictly good entertainment for me. That is when I am not doing other serious SIM racing games. This video covers all the main topics of the game. Thanks for your video. Take care.

To be honest, this is the best review of this game. Not just give shit just because is called Project Cars. A good review with a good oponion. Thanks. I was waiting for it.
Back then when I was still reading and watching reviews and gameplay of PC3, the first thing I heard was "mobile ripoff" from some comments. I found out there's no pit stops or tire wear. I automatically consider this game "Simcade". The next day, I looked at Jimmy's review on the game and I felt most of the resentments came from all the sim racers who expected PC3 to be an evolution. Game is still visually stunning as ever, has that little Gran Turismo and Shift 2 quirks of upgrading stock cars to race cars, the perfect cornering system, emphasis on fun racing. I am however disappointed because it's even worse in immersion than Gran Turismo Sport when really, it could've been the competitor if only they kept the pit stops in longer races. PC3 has gone far too casual for me to pick up as a Gran Turismo alternative, and it is why I'm not buying it.
I don't have a steering wheel, I play on PC with a dualshock 4 and I tried to play ACC, Project cars 2 and Grid 2019 and it was too hard for me to control the car in ACC and PC2, and in Grid i felt that the driving was very simple, Project cars 3 is exactly the racing game that I wanted, driving does not feel as simple as in Grid and not as difficult as ACC or PC2 with gamepad, I mean it I am completely in love with Project cars 3! it is too fun and i don't care if people says that the game is trash. Project cars 3 is a really good game.
ZetasMasterMX And then, one day, you’ll get a GOOD casual game easy on a pad, and realize how bad this is. Maybe FM7, Horizons, maybe GT Sport, or maybe you’ll just get better with a pad and join the thousands that manage ACC or PC2 okay on pads... Or maybe, instead of blowing $80 on the deluxe version of this game, save up a bit more for a used wheel, and you’ll realize just how badly they ruined this game’s driving experience on a wheel...
My verdict would be like: It took MANY years for S.M.S. to understand that their approach to sim-racing was full of blatant mistakes on physics, tire model, car handling, etc., and it's now, after 6 games (including the Shifts and that infamous Test Drive: Ferrari Challenge) when they've realized fully on it, and went back to step 1; instead of starting again from step 14 failing the previous ones.
After many hours of playing, I gotta say I like it too, it's fun and something new for me, after having completed GRID 2019. But in PS4 there're some issues: sometimes the frame rate falls real low and the game slows down. And sometimes the resolution suffers a downgrade, looking more like a Nintendo Switch game more than PS4.
They shouldve made this some kind of spin-off and they wouldve avoid most of the hate. This way this seems just massive cash grab but hey that you can except from Codemasters. After this and fast and furious crossroads slightly mad studios future doesen't look bright at all..
Some people still judging the book by it's cover and they need to stop it. Don't get fooled by the name. They didn't change the name because they wanted to sell more; it's a marketing technique and it's quite logical to do so. If it named differently you would say "hmm a new simcade game? Why would we need it when we have the GRID 2019 which is the game from same developper with same purpose" and probably say it's an "unnecessary" game that you don't need to care about it. But Codemasters rightfully used the "Here comes the airplane!" method and the people who's here for pure sim even started to like the game even they hated the game at the first sight. And you will love it too no matter how much you "hate" the game right now. Because if it was called Driveclub2 you would be saying that this is the best racing game of the year. It has the fun factor that you want but never expect.
david kirk on PD blew it big time perhaps you need to set in on a physics demonstration over at bugbear entertainment Call this what it is“project arse” (arcade racing simulation experience) Face it all the best graphics in the world won't change the FACT, pit strategy is an intricate or intrical part (something that is integral is very important or necessary) of any race along with tire management playing a crucial role and an exacting measure concerning the fule load and how a vehicle changes throughout a stint!! project cars 3 gets a big fat "f" !!As for us fans of simulation racing will see this title in the 1/2 price ben.
@@adariussartz2859 it's a totally different game with less features than an actual project cars game i know, but as i said they don't want you to look at this game as a successor to pc2, they want you to look at this game like a successor to nfs shift or driveclub, don't worry about the name so much. Pc2 is still up to date anyways.
People may have forgotten that PC2 cold tyres were more slippery than frosty roads in real life. When trying to get superfast lap times, with an undamaged car, I grew so tired of having to do 2 warmup laps to heat the tyres before one full throttle attempt at a record, and then havi g to start over on cold tyres. Repeat 100 times. I stopped playing PC2 because it was not enough fun for me. This actually looks sim enough and like it will be good fun. Will miss tyre degradation tho.
Let's make a petition to Codemasters to change the name of the game in respect for us that supported the birth of a great sim and now watched it's dead sadly
Tyre temperature is actually present. It just doesn't do anything. In the Formula X you can do a burnout and get the tyres to more than 800c in temperature. Other than that. It's my favourite racing game to play on the gamepad.
I have a feeling the game could've done much better with some or all of these changes: -a small name change, like a subtitle (Project CARS: Ignition or something). Clarifies that it would be a spin-off with notable differences in gameplay from the other games. In spirit, I honestly still think it's a Project CARS game, being a collection of tarmac motorsport racing categories but with higher mechanical depth and less atmosphere than GRID - even if in my short experience it's significantly toned down on the vehicle dynamics aspect. -option to toggle more simulation-heavy aspects like wear, temperature effects, etc. Other sim racers have it, and the basis was there from the previous two games. If it has to be made accessible for non-sim racers, default to the easier/simpler settings on the first launch. -simple/intermediate/expert tuning options. It's taking inspiration from the Shift games, and they had a toggle between basic settings (adjusting multiple parameters at once while keeping a balance) and full freedom of tweaking. Goes inline with the previous point. -deeper performance upgrade options with flavour text. Shift 2, for all its flaws including in this category, still kept me invested just because I loved visualizing the changes I do to the car with varying levels of intake, exhaust, differential, clutch, brake systems and so on. Upgrades in PC3 are... too simple and uninteresting, like they're just tacked on. Aero packages don't even change the looks of the car until you swap to the race spec.
They shouldn't have use "project cars 3" to call this game, they shouldve made this a spinoff game and kept the mainline game more serious

Thank you for the review, very professional and objective
Your voice just makes me so calm and happy
This is the most balanced, calm and honest review of PC3 on UA-cam. All the Sim Racing channels were waiting to shoot dead PC3. Even though they all knew that PC3 wasn't going to be Sim months ago. And after that, some of them still accepted a free early press copy of the game for views. Even I knew that PC3 was going to be more like a sequel to Shift 2 than PC2 and I don't have a Sim Racing channel.
10:22 You just murdered someone and the game said "no My Man, You went off track"
GT sport and this game don't belong to same sentence. For pc there is also Forza Motorsport and horizon.
Does anyone know the name of the instrumental starting at 10:52?
They should have called it "Project Cars: Go fast" or something, like there is Forza and Forza Horizon.
But I'm looking for a simcade, and I hoped PC3 would fill my need, but I want qualification, pitstops, and VR. Is there any option on the market ?
@@gabrieljr5410 Thanks, but I don't have a PS4, only PC and Oculus...
@@gabrieljr5410 Thank you very much for your help, it just does not have VR officially 😉
they litterally just made driveclub from what i see its basically the same driving model.
Not necessarily a bad thing.
yeah, but Driveclub have insane graphics even for today standards, but this game looks like a PS3 game in some tracks, just look at 8:53
Ivan Roman the graphics are bad due to the lack of anti ailiasing
@@neblolthecarnerd Also, reflections are bad and in most conditions, non-existent
Ivan Roman yea
This game has such an amazing feel in the controller to how the car really feels. Do you think if we copy the controller settings. And put those in other racing games the controls will be even more amazing.
Didn't know I was waiting for this video until I saw it pop up in my notifications lol
Is that for ps4? If so, when it came out?
Is it like the PGR series, game mechanics-wise? I loved that series, but unfortunately there are no new games. This looks similar.
Viper, you're so awesome. Like, I'm studying game design and you know so much that it's really impressive. I learn so much from you that I can't be grateful enough. Very nice video, wish you only the best
If a new racing game Comes out, thats the Video i am waiting for!
Could you please make video about what game do you recommend for newbie into sim racing , advanced , price etc?
Pros - More cars
Cons - EVERYTHING ELSE lmao
Pros - "Casual and fun" oriented racing game
Cons - Not suited for the "Full Sim" racing game afficionados
@@christophelemaire4551 Where's the fun in a game with awful AI that cheats, dive-bombs you, and goes from too hard to very easy without rhyme or reason?
@@gurriato lmao true. I thought the AI would atleast be better. Heck if u want to play a better game. Play gt sport or forza.

Thank you! Finally someone that can look at a game without putting there ego in the way. Great review
Wow, Viper, why you put so much quality in your videos? I absolutely Love it! You're amazing as always ^^/...
It's really nice to see you talking.
Can confirm i'm having fun with the career mode, the challenges are engaging, hope multiplayer will be as fun
You know there are going to be a bunch of Forza players on this game so good luck with online multiplayer mode.
@@adammodan8030 eh, i had some online races last night and they weren't on Forza levels of destruction derby. a lot of contact but generally fair
@@adammodan8030 On Xbox maybe but not on PS4
I agree with you, this game isn't bad - it is different. It is an Arcade-ish similar to a GRID driving game but we have real-ish type tracks. I purchased this PC game on STEAM and when it was at a good sale price. I also got this game because it provides VR support built into the game which most of my racing games I do in VR mode.
I do not do the Career mode, just do quick races - select car-track, and go race 5-10 laps with the AI.
This game is strictly good entertainment for me. That is when I am not doing other serious SIM racing games. This video covers all the main topics of the game.
Thanks for your video. Take care.
Hi viper, what game do u suggest for start simracing?
12:17 disagree with this part about Codemasters being involved, as PC3 was already well into its development when Codies acquired them.
I was waiting for this two days
my conclusión about P:C3: if you like to drift this game will give you a lot of fun.
Naah, if you like yo drift you have Need For speed, with the actual Brake2Drift System (i dont like it)
This game at least, gives you chances to have grip style
it should be called "Project Cars Arcade Edition" like GT1 and 2 had
soo true
Why do the other cars shake when your racing
Hola Viper. Estaba esperando tu review de este juego. Gracias por el análisis, muy profesional y analítico como todos tus reviews. Se te agradece mucho. Veré si me animo a comprar el juego. Saludos.
2:58 there is in fact a very small difference measured on my 27" Monitor (not fullscreen) the High pressure wheel has a contact patch with the length of 1,3cm while the low pressure one has 1,9cm
Are you going to make Car Roulette for Project Car 3, Viper?
Welcome to Project Car 3, its actually Project Car 2-1 but we add another negative so it can be -3
That’s why i didn’t buy this game cause it doesn’t follow the lagacy.
glad I didn't buy this.
I even not gonna pirate this shit

Will we ever get a proper sim racing but with great career feature? I wish there's a mod like such for Asseto corsa
What's more realistic in terms of handling Forza 7 or PC3?
When did viper start talking in his videos?
Man, you remind me so much of when I was learning English! Keep it up!
So if this game is arcade, what good sims are left?
grid 2019 or project cars 3 ? which one you would buy Viper if you had to choose?
Neither probably lol, he is a sim racer
Hi Viper ! Nice video, can you make a video of the 1.0 of Automobilista 2 ? To see if it's more worth it with this update :D
Should I buy project cars 3 or gran turismo 7?
Awesome review vip, you rock
My verdict would be like: It took MANY years for S.M.S. to understand that their approach to sim-racing was full of blatant mistakes on physics, tire model, car handling, etc., and it's now, after 6 games (including the Shifts and that infamous Test Drive: Ferrari Challenge) when they've realized fully on it, and went back to step 1; instead of starting again from step 14 failing the previous ones.
one of the best review racing game thank Viperconcept
After many hours of playing, I gotta say I like it too, it's fun and something new for me, after having completed GRID 2019. But in PS4 there're some issues: sometimes the frame rate falls real low and the game slows down. And sometimes the resolution suffers a downgrade, looking more like a Nintendo Switch game more than PS4.
can u play it with a ds4 pad?
PCars3...I got a huge pang in my heart but I have to say "IT'S A TRAP!" 😂
Admiral Ackbar wants to know your location
7:47 TMS infield was the first time I’ve ever taken my car to a track day. Sadly our day ended early when a C7 crashed
They shouldve made this some kind of spin-off and they wouldve avoid most of the hate. This way this seems just massive cash grab but hey that you can except from Codemasters. After this and fast and furious crossroads slightly mad studios future doesen't look bright at all..
hey bro sigues haciendo coaching? te mande un email hace unas semanas pero creo que no lo viste! abrazo!
It looks quite a bit like Need For Speed:Shift. Might need to pick it up.
Pc2 is still up to date anyways.
i been waiting for this review thank you
People may have forgotten that PC2 cold tyres were more slippery than frosty roads in real life.
My opinion is that is an introducer to the sim racing comunity thats why is much simpler than PJ2
Let's make a petition to Codemasters to change the name of the game in respect for us that supported the birth of a great sim and now watched it's dead sadly
This should have been a spin off game because it actually bugs me that it’s so different even though it’s apart of the main series!
Tyre temperature is actually present. It just doesn't do anything. In the Formula X you can do a burnout and get the tyres to more than 800c in temperature. Other than that. It's my favourite racing game to play on the gamepad.
I have a feeling the game could've done much better with some or all of these changes:
-a small name change, like a subtitle (Project CARS: Ignition or something).
This is a very detailed review. Why would ppl down vote it?
