Tom I am less than one minute into this video and I just want to say you don’t need a excuse to make a video just do you and us car guys will keep watching love all raw content from you always, good stuff keep it up 👍
Tom: the seat adjustment problem is not the motor! It's the buttons! I had the same problem on my X350 and I just rewired the motor to a switch to a button I'm not using and it works! And after a few weeks I have to say: I like it more than it would be original! (I'm using the up/down button for the front lifter of the seat to adjust the back of the seat and I love it now) Down moves the back down, lifting up moves the back up! It's unbelievable nice!
Thanks Tom, interesting video. Just for the record, I don't have a problem with conversation with the camerman, doesn't bother me at all. Looking forward to your next video. :)
Brilliant go over mate. Great content and the camera man’s back n forth gave a very real interaction, they’re the kind of questions I’d ask. Keep em coming mate! Fancy doing the x358 2.7d? Asking for my sakes 😂
Looks in that picture so much better with orange indicators I kept my 328i owned for 20 years orange indicators Many people clear them looks wrong now for the period
What a great video. I have a late 02 xkr in black with ivory interior. What you are describing in this video is what I have in my car. It’s a coupe. Thanks for this video 👍
I bought my 2000 XKR back in 2020 from California. Was looking for one with the R package but they are rare, so mine has the std brakes, seats and 18" wheels. Since then I have gone through the standard faults: Front springs and bushings, hydraulic hoses for the convertible top and timing chain and tensioners.
Thanks, you really know your Jags. I had an XK8 once as a company car, yes, I was the boss, but did not dare use it when visiting customers. It was a very nice car.
We have a 2000 XKR coupe that was sold new with the R-Performance package. A previous owner had it badged XKRR. It has been quite reliable & we have undertaken long insterstate trips in it where it has shone. Recently we lost drive under acceleration. My husband thought he had solved the problem by adding about 500ml of transmission fluid that restored drive but the fault has returned with a code showing a mismatch with the input/output figures so its booked in to have the box removed & sorted. It will be very interesting to see what develops with your XKR & how you address any issues.
Love the X100 chassis. Tom kindly sentenced my black xk8 coupe to death for rust! Luckily I had the BBS wheels that finally got near £2k for. Bought a 996 in the meantime as can’t find a non rusty one!
Tom, you're still a legend mate. I reckon the lads should have given you the car for all the help you've given them. You did a great walk around but you should have spent time with it under the hoist. I hope you do more walk -thru videos like these in the future. I'm actually interested what you've done to the white E-Type that was slightly off camera.
Hi Tom, Really pleased you have taken the plunge to start your own channel! Subscribed and looking forward to your videos 👏 Can I ask, I've noticed your watch and really like it and was wondering if you could tell me what it is please 😊
If I was around there and had a Jaguar or Land Rover, I would only use Tom as my mechanic. He is such a nice person, it must be lovely to have him around...
Top tip on the key fobs: there’s a fellow in Taiwan that matches S-type-style flip key fobs with the correct 8-row Tibbe key blade for the X100 and sells them on eBay. I have one as the main key for my 2001 XKR coupe. Only caveat is that I’m not sure if there’s differences between my US-market security electronics and what you’d have in the UK.
Hi Tom, Banana 🍌 thanks for mentioning my finger on the pod cast. it's just a slight error it was MB that took me to the hospital, not Meg, but it was 20 yrs ago. Brings back memories XK100s.
I love my 03 XKR. Things wrong: driver's head rest won't adjust - no issue really. Since purchasing, the CD changer in the boot has stopped working. Apparently that's common. There are people one can send them to for a rebuild. Doesn't seem worth it at this time. Everything else is great.
Yes. Didn’t realise you had your own channel. Great to see more of Tom. On a personal note, when I was a kid, my dad had an XJS TWR so my jag roots go way back. ( it was white , we called it the pimpmobile)
this is great Tom. Now I know who to come to for by next Jag. Had a 1998 XKR Convertible. No rust issues. Electrics was the achilles. Then a 1999 XJ8. Beautiful looking. all extras. BUT rust killed it. literally. But am smitten. I want one that’s SORTED. from somebody I can trust. XJR with sun roof ULEZ compliant.
Okay, so we now have a UK "Car Wizard", how about a Car Trek vs Auto Alex series ? All the subscribers on all the channels would love to see it (I enjoy speaking for 3-4m people), do it around Vegas and I will supply the hotel rooms etc.
Great video Tom, can't beat watching and listening to an actual expert, rather than idiots just winging it and doing botch jobs talking nonsense. Looking forward to more.
Nice car, I can testify to the rust places as that’s exactly where my 2002 went. Mine is the same colour but with detroits and ivory normal seats. Might be worth mentioning the hydraulic lines on the next video as I’ve had that happen too 😂
Thanks tom for the great video 😊 I just checked your views and subscribers wow its shot up congratulations 🎊. Hopefully I can be as successful with my new youtube adventure as I only have 18 subs so far . Keep up the good work looking forward to seeing what comes next . 😊
So in summary, people in Monaco have money, but prefer spending it on cocaine and hookers rather than car maintenance. Seems fair... Good video Tom - looking forward to part 2!
Nice video! But if you have someone having a conversation with the presenter that person should be in front of the camera aswell. It becomes weird with this disembodied voice that kind of interrupts the presenter and comes of as a "backseat" driver almost. If he would have been in front of the camera it would have been totally fine. Edit the cameraman makes interesting comments and interactions but it does not work if he is behind the camera.
Thanks for the feedback - we are learning as we go with UA-cam, and trying out different formats etc, still much to develop and learn! Our priority will always be the running workshop and we do the UA-cam for some fun and in our spare time with limited resources to hopefully bring interesting Jaguar content, but we will see what we can do! 👍
Tom I am less than one minute into this video and I just want to say you don’t need a excuse to make a video just do you and us car guys will keep watching love all raw content from you always, good stuff keep it up 👍
lets grow this channel alongside tdc and alexs and get tom the credit he deserves , top stuff
keep the monaco plates somewhere, thats rare for a collector!
Yes - the car will be sold with a UK plates, but the Monaco plates will come with the car! As a keepsake.
Handy for the ULEZ too 😮📷 😅

This is the type of content people want. More buyers guides please .... without the constant over talking from the camera man if possible.
I personally enjoy the camera man talking.
Tom & James make a good video!
I enjoy the conversation between them
Love just hearing the wealth of knowledge Tom has and think its great having an interactive cameraman. Love it
Thanks Tom, interesting video. Just for the record, I don't have a problem with conversation with the camerman, doesn't bother me at all. Looking forward to your next video. :)

I’ve always loved the X100, spotted an absolutely stunning one today drive past in bright blue 👌😚
They remain very popular Jaguars for good reasons! 👍
Love the video Tom. Like a grown up Autoalex 😉
Hopefully this video will draw more attention to the channel!
Thanks for the tour around the car, Tom!

This is great stuff tom and it's great to see u as one of the AA gang 😊

Not a patch on Reggie and most probably won’t even need a new gearbox.. where’s the fun in that??
There maybe no gearbox issues, but as you will find out in the next episode there are some things which aren’t great!

When Tom was talking about the side marker, it was like the lady from Tom & Jerry. 😂
Pity the later models have the sat nav screen. the 3 dials are way classier..

I don’t think the 100 badge is a bad thing with those wheels and the R pack. Nice spec
Filmed a 53 plate coupé in an almost matching spec in South Wales
