The 2024 Lexus UX 250h F-Sport AWD Is Hybrid Only Entry-Level Luxury SUV

- When you want to get into a brand new #Lexus vehicle, the 2024 #LexusUX250h is the brand's most affordable car in the lineup. It is the only Lexus vehicle built on the same platform as the Toyota Corolla, but the #UX250h gets a lot of upgrades to hide its economy car roots, including a unique #Hybrid only powertrain, giving the #LexusUX the best fuel efficiency in its segment.

You guys make me laugh comparing this to the Toyota or Mazda options. That premium price gets you a much more upscale driving experience and feel. If you're strictly looking at buying a car via a spreadsheet cost analysis, sure this looks overpriced compared to the Toyota options. But if you actually drive any Lexus version it takes about 3 seconds to see why they cost more. That doesn't make one better or worse, but different people have different priorities, and we wouldn't save the money to drive the cheaper Toyota versions personally. As far as the UX250h, it's a pretty close to perfect DD for us. Wife just traded in her Macan Turbo 2 weeks ago on this version in white with red interior and it's been a complete joy so far. Going from 400hp to 181hp took about 10 seconds to adapt to because of you actually drive in the real world, you're accelerating at less than full throttle 99% of the time. Completed a 4 hour round trip in it yesterday and getting up to speed (~85'ish), merging, stability and comfort was all perfectly smooth and without struggle. Even topped her out at 110 to pass a line of cars holding everyone up. Zero delay or lag getting to passing speed, and got home averaging 37mpg on regular fuel. Storage space is tight, but without kids and a CT200h designated for dog duty, this has more than enough space to fit her work bag or do a shopping run. Through the twisty stuff it's actually a blast in Sport+ mode and more fun than my Cayman tbh as the Cayman limits are just too high for road use. ASC sounds cheesy in theory, but adds a fun lighted hearted sound that makes pushing it through the corners even more enjoyable.
It's not perfect, especially with how Lexus forces you into buying the F Sport Handling option to get even the most basic comfort features. No memory seats, no auto dimming interior or exterior mirrors and several other things I can't recall in any of the other 3 trim levels. Absolutely infuriating that memory seats isn't standard and you have to move up to the $45k trim level for that. Also miss the 360⁰ around view camera and active headlights that rotate into the corner. But outside of those things it's honestly a pure joy to drive without the constant expensive headaches of the German cars. Sure. The Macan was nicer inside. But the window sticker on that was $99k. For $47k, I think this is a wonderful car and more than what most people honestly need. But you do. 😂
You could have just gotten a rav4 or something
@@naveenthemachine Not getting anything that everybody else is getting.
@@cocoylichuaco3325 yet the rav4 is way faster same mpg roomier more features and a more powerful eAWD system
@@naveenthemachine it doesnt matter. Ultimately if it's noisier, less insulated, more harsh, and comparatively bouncier to ride in, then people would gravitate towards the Lexus. That's really its selling point. ive seen the more features faster argument over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over, but nothing beats extra sound deadening material and plusher ride.
Even Sofyan had to concede that the Lexus is more refined than its counterpart. Anybody can do speed; not everybody can do ride quality.
@@cocoylichuaco3325 a corolla engine isn’t refined the slightest bit
I bought a brand new 2023 F Sport Handling in January with every option, and I love it!!
Cmon guys, Sofyan and team are just 10K subs away from 1M! Let's keep sharing to get them over the hump!
Great review! Very informative.
I like the UX, but I will go with Venza, because it has more features and more roomier
And more affordable too!!
Great Review!!!
Someday, I will own the 2024 Lexus UX250h.
said same thing 2021.
own NX now.
Great auto review.
Thanks for the review and also for the Corolla Cross Hybrid Review, coming from the 2012 CT200H Premium I am really toeing the line and debating between 2024 Corolla Cross Hybrid HSE and 2025 UX 300H. Really a win-win upgrade depending what the trade offs I'm willing to accept. Love how you mentioned Corolla Cross several times as comparison.
I’d rather get the new Prius or CC in AWD
Please share your review on UX 300h.. planning to buy one!!
I’ve always liked this little thing
The slow walk toward the camera - RR signature move
Have you done a video review on 2024 Lexus NX Hybrid?
Correct me if I'm wrong
Does Lexus have a vehicle called the LBX ?
They have got to find a way to get a better powertrain into this thing
I just picked this vehicle up for my wife for her 60-mile R/T commute to/from work. Got a good deal on a 2023 Premium trim CPO dealer loaner with 8k miles and paid 34k. She loves it and is surprisingly fun to drive and she’s averaging 41mpg. No, its no speed demon, but that is not what one buys this car for. The electric motor does help with smooth off the line power.
I'm thinking about buying a 2023 F sport for $ 36.5 with 6k miles
There's a ghost of Sofyan at 1:01 . That was a cool effect.
An incandescent bulb on a near $50k luxury vehicle. What?
Yeah acura also does that with the rdx. It's pretty offensive
@@kyron2092 but Acura can get away with it because they’re fun to drive they’re fast and roomier and more sophisticated

The UX was pos. Tried it for4 mos.
Wow it's a very fancy small car.
Thanks!
I like the "premium" hatchback. Great for urban empty-nesters. F-sport seems like a waste on this vehicle. Premium trim is where it comes in as a value. But, it would be great if they had the prius hybrid system in it.
Great choice. Everything a person needs for intra and inter-city driving.
Agreed. Reliability, Efficinecy, Semi-luxury, Practical, Compact size for parking
That's the cousin of the CH-R
Love lexus 😍😍😍machine f sport
I think you’re the only reviewer that’s not afraid to compare different car brands in videos
Insane Lexus Sofyan.
Goodnight😂, these comments are toxic. Just a heads up I'm buying this vehicle to add to my Lexus Family. I'm buying it for the mpg, styling, Lexury, and compact design. Which some really appreciate in congested traffic. I've driven it multiple times as a loaner from the dealership and loved it. Why does every car have to be fast as hell and updated twice a week!? 😅😅 Nothing will last that way.
Great review redline, still quality reviews 👏👏👍👍
Hybrids are always getting faster and faster
That’s why. Plus you could have bought a cx30 and get more of everything. Or even get a rav4 hybrid
@@naveenthemachine nah, then I wouldn't have a Lexus 😂
@@omendarklight1526 a Camry hybird is way faster than the ux AND it gets much better mpg and it has more space and much better handling
@@naveenthemachine 😂 Clearly you didn't read my comment, I don't care what is faster. If I wanted speed I'd buy an actual muscle car. That's my point, ppl like you think every vehicle has to be faster than a Porsche 911 😂 shut up already
Why bother with this when you can get a venza or even a rav4 that has way more space and faster?
I ordered the CC XSE and after waiting a year decided to get a 2023 UX instead. It was about the same price. We actually were able to negotiate the price down which I wasn't expecting. I suspect they were trying to clear inventory for the 2025 300UXh. Other than the small trunk and less power than the CCX, the ride, features and noise level are amazing. Only been driving for a short time but feeling pretty good about the decision. I get about 43MPG on my drive to work, which is city and highway driving, in warm weather and about 38 in cold weather so far.
17:15 why there are two engine noises? Are they actually creating a completely different engine noise?
@@Brian_Eugene_Lee I know it’s a hybrid.
Wat do u mean 7 hors÷power only to the rear axles?
Love this vehicle. It's almost perfect except that it needs to be a plug-in hybrid.
this needs a redesign ASAP! and needs 360 camera and a lil bit more ground clearance! maybe this can be a super baby GX or something since the NX is already the small SOFT ROADER SUV
Got one of these as a loaner car from the dealership today. The interior is nice and the fuel efficiency is great. The powertrain, though. Ugh, acceleration is really lacking.
This should have the powertrain in the new Prius
It's high time for a new generation with more space and powertrain options. Lexus has fallen short in the class for way too long already.
And they will continue to do so 😂
Just look at just about any new Lexus model. They fall short of the class rivals despite being brand new
The UX is a car I want to like, but it has been passed by time. 10 years ago, its power train and style were nice but today it is grossly out of date. highway mileage of 38 and 0-60 of 8.1 seconds is just not competitive. Lexus needs to toss the Toyota Rav4 prime power train into this vehicle to get the mileage and performance that is expected of a 50K vehicle. I drove this vehicle and it simply isn't worth 50k. The interior quality is OK but doesn't compare to a Volvo S60. Its handling and performance is more like a chevy trax than a luxury vehicle.
lexus ux is toyota's "nissan juke"
Show the roof lights clearly, man!
why are the cupholders all the way in front? I don't think i'll like that.
i Love chinese song but do not know how to switch it?
Reliable......but 10K-20k more expensive than any other vehicle !
I actually miss that center console controller, 😢 very unique and intuitive. Now the heated and ventilated buttons look stamped on like an after 🤔 thought. Have the same color and seats in my NX FSPORT, and i can't get over how comfortable the seats are.
With this price range, I would go with the Toyota Rav4 xse hybrid with fully load options, better looking, more room and cargo space.
Yeah, Lexus is overpriced.
@@davevolz6138 X1 and X2 are subcompacts where the X3 is a compact
So $47k before tax is the new entry level affordable Lexus! Got it
I think Lexus should bring the LBX to replace this & bring the new hybrid powertrain along with the naturally aspirated 2.5 with 207Hp. Would be decently peppy with the smaller size and more power.
I wish the LBX coming to North America
This was based on the chr not really Corolla cross
If Lexus gave the UX some design inspiration from the Corolla GR, Yaris GR, and the RX…it would be a grand slam. And then make the top trim with a tri exhaust with an elevated stance and bigger tires so it could compete with the WRX.
OMG still looking the same? Come on Lexus...been years.
Lol.. Toyota change the land cruiser, gx, tundra and new tacoma and people are complaining about it. If they don't change =complaints. If they do = complaints. 🤔🤔
@@ju4121people complain because the changes are not good ; Not because there are changes.
This thing need changes from the engine to the lack of 360 camera etc
@@ju4121Maybe since the UX has always been a POS and is getting destroyed by even economy brands. Standards have increased. There is nothing redeeming about this car.
@@Brian_Eugene_Lee I hope you're right. I sat in one recently at a dealer; it felt luxurious, and had beautiful build quality, but so cramped. I know it's a small car, but space efficiency is woeful.
A fully optioned venza is better in every aspect and cheaper
Agreed.
Definitely agree
Definitely
@@ThrowAway-md9zx the ux isn’t pretty to look at either. It’s not as attractive as the cx30 trailblazer encore seltos Kona hrv
@@naveenthemachineI think reliability is attractive over looks but The Venza IS a better choice.
F-Sport but 0-60 in 8.1 sec hah
Yeah, with that moniker, the lack of performance is even more of an issue. If you're selling a slow car, don't call it anything 'sport'.
Seems some Japanese brands are bringing that Japanese market look for the US market i like it
This thing needed a full redesign years ago. Not worth the price tag. This is basically a Corolla with a Lexus badge. Toyota/Lexus loves selling outdated products for modern day money. Glad they are slowly going away from that.
They’re not 😂. They’re still selling outdated products 😆
@@naveenthemachinejust go to Koreans if you want technology and sell your Camry while you are at it. Toyota is not known for their mainstream technology but when it comes to safety technology, they are some of the best.
When I lived in DTLA and downtown San Francisco - I would've loved this car. But those cities have fallen by the wayside in recent times with crime at an all-time high, so I'm glad I don't really live there nor have a need for this vehicle.
Is there a spare tire in this Lexus?
That will cost you an extra five grand
It looks like the corolla cross also has almost an inch more front legroom for the taller folks.
Sofyan, Whether we are discussing the premium priced UX, prosaic Corolla or the Corolla Cross, that tiny 103.9 inch wheelbase is just not going to cut it for a 4 door that claims to offer utility. In Europe Toyota stretched the wheelbase 3 inches for their Corolla Touring Sports to make the second row family friendly. They have absolutely no excuse for failing to do so here. 🤨
the Acura Integra handles better, looks better, quicker and has nearly double the cargo room of the UX.
the UX has 1 inch more ground clearance though.
Agreed. The integra is integral while the UX just SUX
Only downside is no hybrid
@@carless23 it still gets excellent mpg for what it is. It’s not much worse in the grand scheme of things. Yet the Acuras a lot more fun more spacious better looking as well
Given the performance and price point, i feel my cx30 premium n/a, in the same size category, is faster to 60mph (0-60 7.8-8.2 sec depending on the tester) has more hp is just as nice inside with real leather and costs almost 15K less....the mpgs in the lexus featured here on the hwy are higher than the cx30 but i can buy a lot of gas for 15K . As well, my cx30 can easily get 35/36 mpg hwy at legal speeds which is not far off this lexus hybrid mpg rating,
THiS!!!!!
Bit like a BMW X2 but more reliable. A drivers car for one or two. It’s almost perfect but a little underpowered.
Why is he comparing it to the Corolla Cross? Two completely different price points and finish level. Though the CC hybrid does have more horsepower than the UX!!
😮 $47k You can get a 2020 RX with low miles for that.
Comparing prices between used and new makes no sense
If you’re on a budget but NEED an affordable Lexus vehicle 😂
A CVT pumping out fake gearshift sounds? Wtf??
Ill take a loaded Venza please.... not impressed with this Lexus
Should have atleast 240-250hp imo
It’s a hatchback
I have owned this car (2019) for about 2 years but eventually I traded it in because the trunk and rear seats were too tight. Fast forward this week I bought a pre-owned 2020 Hyundai Ioniq Plug-in Hybrid Limited. This new car is better than or compatible with the UX in many ways: The Ioniq has memory seats, real genuine leather, power folding mirrors, apply car play andriod auto, plug in with 29 miles EV range and 52 mpg hybrid only, spacious trunk, not to mention the great value I got even if I bought new (about $34,000 in US when new). I really want to go back and buy Lexus again but it is just not providing great value for my money. With that said I want to say I am a proud owner of Korean vehicles: This Hyundai Ioniq Plug In Limited, and my 2022 Kia Sorento Plug In SUV SX Prestige trim.
I bought mine in 2019 for 32k new. I work from home so it sits in the garage until I need to go to the stores only. I'm also a tiny person the car just fits my needs. I recently had offered to sell it back to the dealership and they offered 27k. Not bad considering its 4 years old now. Its a great car but not for 50k 😂
Its interesting how some cars are instantly attacked basically on speed while others just are not. Apparently the BOTS, paid posters and other types feel compelled to do so. Didn't know this one was a sports car, but maybe to some it is. If one wants fast buy the right EV and by those standards the others are slow. The F sport version looks better and different suspension and quality car built in a Japan plant known for high quality. Why some are comparing to Toyota and the reasons for doing so are silly. If you want a smaller Lexus than its a fine car. If you want something faster, apparently most live somewhere that fast is required and no cops, then buy something else. This car rides great, quiet and quality built. Good car for crowded spaces but not for hauling the world around. I mean, they make LARGER suv's, right. So why does this on need to be larger? Clown posts comments like always on Yaktube. No I don't own one but have driver one a lot this past year, 2023.
UX stands for Urban Crossover.
180hp, 0-60 8+ sec, 40mpg in 2024 for that sticker price is just not acceptable.
The UX seriously needs the updated powertrains and platform from its Toyota counter parts. It’s smaller than the corolla cross, with less power, and older tech despite being a full 10k more expensive than the refreshed Cross. The UX is probably the most disappointing compact SUV on the market right now.
That’s the case for anything Lexus has. They and Infiniti are the most disappointing luxury brands on the market
@@naveenthemachine oh you again lmao. Definitely should not be talking to me.
Probably after the redesign for the LX. The LX and UX both are on the lower end of Lexus crossover sales so probably a bit lower on the priority of things
@@chibbyylol we come from a family of LX owners. It’s just disappointing knowing that there’s a hugeee market for large body on frame SUVs in America and yet the LX still remains the smallest of its competition with the oldest tech. Toyota can easily leverage the powertrains and tech at their disposal to make it a real contender but haven’t. The UX is the same in my view. It feels like Toyota as a brand is going through a product renaissance while Lexus is sort-of being left out of it currently with some of its products.
@@huythai1222 As you know they're very conservative. See the Toyota brand first as a trial run for any tech before it trickles to their Lexus products so that makes sense why it always take's time

When you say " for somebody my height", it tells us nothing.
Would rather have a Corolla Cross Hybrid... and I would not buy one of those either.

Disappointing. I like the Corolla Cross Hybrid better. Lexus can do so much more at this price point. Great review but I can't finish it
Lexus won’t ever do better. There’s a reason: theyre putting out some truly terrible cars lately

Glb is nice
What is with Lexus/Toyota and this horrible red leather interior. It is so harsh. How irritating it is while looking at FSport trims and they all have the red leather. it is hideous
Lexus/Toyota need to figure out how to do interiors. Compared to their competition (in either the premium Lexus or main stream Toyota) the competition just destroys them when it comes to attractive interiors. Since the purchaser spends most of his/her time inside the vehicle, it would seem important that they focus on creating an attractive interior.
Yeah Lexus interiors don't scream luxury. Toyota interiors look so drab and feel shitboxy.
@@ishaansaral502I mean the Camry XSE w red interior and venza are nice inside and of course the lc500
I don't think people get the point but lexus is way over in their heads . Lexus is basically selling this small POS for 50k . Toyota venza , seinna and highlander have same features for less price tag plus bigger too
These “luxury” car companies are getting ridiculous. Higher prices lesser quality stuff. You are literally paying for badge
“Hybrid”, “crossover” are literally the worst words you can hear when talking about luxury vehicles. Whenever I see that, I just run.
A Lexus with weaker power plant than Toyota for the same price should tell you enough. I am not buying for the brand alone.
It is good but pricy.
No it’s a subpar “luxury” car and it’s pricey like a luxury car😂
I have 2 lexus cars now that are pre grill first, car second. The only thing worse are some of the new BMW's. Other brands have cought up to Lexus in terms of reliability that are worth considering.
which brands?
Very sad that any Hyundai or Kia has MORE safety features than a Lexus. Very disappointing.
