I'm 46 years old and I had corneal transplants in both eyes 26 years ago. Recently I was told by my corneal specialist that KC had worked its way into the corneal tissue that was left behind during the surgeries (the area that the transplant was stitched into) in my right eye. This area was become so bulged and warped that it was pulled my transplanted cornea into a warped shape, leaving me with 20/400 corrected with glasses. I am currently trying out a scleral lens that is able to provide me with 20/20 vision.
@@ciberman Vision still horrible in right eye, left eye has gotten a little bit worse. Sclerals offer amazing 20/20 vision, but I find them very very difficult to use and they do not fit my lifestyle at all. Still wearing glasses half blind everyday.
I have keratoconus on both eyes. I just got crosslinking on my right eye. It was painful for about 3 days but it was manageable. I have been light sensitive but it is going away. My vision has been blurry but as time passes I find I am gaining vision back to what it was. I am only 13 days in but feeling hope. I will go back for my left eye after 2 month's as I was told my vision should return to what it was in one to two months.
@shadowblitzo123 My vision has not returned to normal so far after both eyes, but it's ok. My right eye was worse than the left. I notice I get inflammation around my eyes if I am tired and headaches. I avoid driving at night or being out in the bright sun without sun glasses because I can get migraines. I notice everyone heals differently, though.
What age is too old to get crosslinking? I only read for 13 to 35 year olds.. What if you're in your 40s or 50s? I got lasik 20 years that progressed to keratoconus..
Hi / Mr. Mrs My father is suffering from Keratokonus, While serving in Afghanistan he injured his eyes and after than gradually he had eye problems. for now he has 40% vision left in eye, and almost 0% in his right eye, and we were offered morbid solutions by our doctors such as impacted eye removal. Our question is, does your clinic treat or perform anything to repair or fix keratokonus, and is it even treatable at this stage or not?. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Yes, Cornea transplant. He can than probably go for lenses after. I’m not a doctor but I have keratoconis so speak to the doctors for proper information.

I have kerataconus onset from lasik and most drs.wont address this with me because of damaged from a "Another dr"..do I have a chance with schelaral lense?..as i I'm so scared of any surgery on my eyes !
Cross linking is the way to go.. That stops the progressing of the keratoconus and doesn't have any pain trust me.. Just do cross linking don't let the disease progress any longer..
I have INTACS surgery before 3 month but my vision not so, Improved. Near vision slowly improve but double vision is there. Can it take more time to improve vision after INTACS Surgery?.please reply me.

@shadowblitzo123 I would say a little worse, but at least the keratoconus has stopped progressing. The more rested I am, the better on my vision
