I did the rings, then laser + crosslink after about three months. (I had the operation on one eye, so I still have glasses), but the results are amazing. There is only one problem with the rings: they reflect at night, but you will get used to it as you were born with them. This was in 2015, Saudi Arabia. I came to this video to see if there are any new methods, so I might do it for the other eye as well.

In uk, once kerataconus is diagnosed first line of action in cross linking, followed by hard lens. Dr in uk like to use conservative methods first, but for me dr gulati explaination makes more sense to improve the cornea and then lock it in

I had epi on cxl with Dr traler in Miami back in 2019 for really bad vision and out of control progression. My shap has improved and corneas have thicken. Is it possible with time to get corrective vision surgery? I'm only able to see with scleral lenses.

really wish I lived in FL.. my eye DRs told me my ONLY route was crosslinking and a hard lense, they still tell me only the scleral lense will fix my vision even after I explain that after 3 days of wearing the contact (taking out each night and putting in each morning) my eye hurts too the point were I cant put the contact in for another few days..

And also we have many cases who already have had C3R years ago and are struggling with contact lenses. Can we do advanced surface ablation for these cases? I had KC on left eye and now PSC on both eye much further on right eye. My vision is terrible and I am not in a good mood because I don't have money as well. I hope Gulani help me as well as he is passionate to help KC patients to see. Or maybe I need to pass away because I am useless without money. Despite everything I donate my healty cornea for transplant if possible after my death, maybe it will make happy another poor patient..

Even with CXL being approved in US, where both FDA and American Academy of Ophthalmology have taken very conservative approach has forced many people to seek latest treatments outside of the US. I my self have been seen at UPMC by multiple doctors since 2012 both by Deepinder K. Dhaliwal, MD, LAc, then by Vishal Jhanji, MD and have been told by both Doctors, to seek out treatment elsewhere out side of US. When I asked for second opinion at other non UPMC affiliated, I received same answer. I have also reached out to Canada they stated that CXL has been approved in US since 2016. Many people stuck in in crazy run around cycle trying to get treatment for progressives disease. This is very disturbing that Doctors are not practicing medical procedures in US.
I need help. I was told i was too late for Cross-linking. My right eye vision is poor with scleral len. All though I was told that i get 20/20 in my left eye. It doesn't seem like it. Were are you located and do you take insurance , and how long does this procedure last? Also are there I'm Arizona that does the same Procedure

Can you go blind through keratoconus?
Can my keratoconus be fixed if I also have glaucoma?
I did laser surgery in left eye for glaucoma after cxl and it fixed it 1 year out no problems. The laser surgery for glaucoma takes 3 minutes and 3 day recovery. As someone who couldn't get cxl early or intervention sooner I will tell you don't wait.
