  • This House Has Been Abandoned And Deserted For Over 14 Years And He Bought It For $6k!
My buddy Caleb invited me to see what he just bought at Monday's Property Tax Auction. He bought an abandoned home for a mere $6,200! This deserted property is complete with a 1400 sq ft home, 1.16 acres of land, detached 2 car garage, and 2 backyard sheds. The house, garage, and sheds are packed full of deserted and forgotten belongings in which he likely will be able to make the majority of his investment back selling!
This is such a steal! Congrats to Caleb for playing the game of life the right way! I'll be dipping my toes into this line of work next year.

Follow some of the European videos people do on abandoned places. The stuff is left after many years. Surprising the electric and water is still on like France.
The country keeps it on in case the person can't pay the bill, so a person will not have to do without. They do not know when a person dies necessarily. So they stay on. You could live in one of them places no problem. I wonder why people do not move in and claim adverse possession. You live in a place for 7 plus years and you can own it, you have to have kept it up and payed the taxes on the place.
Wish I would have known it when I lived in England. I would have found a nice place to live. Here in the US there are many too. I would find out what happened and why it is abandoned, when was the taxes paid last and by whom.
If things are clear, move in. If you look for relatives and can't find any there you go.

My mom used to own a house in the California redwoods back in the mid-1960's. Kind of a dumpy shack and it was only like $10 grand. There was nothing there back then. The house still stands today amidst an entire neighborhood, more fixed up, and it just sold for $560,000. Places that were once desolate are now primo estate houses for the rich and they pay any price.

100% elderly couple. The way all papers are bagged in ziplock, everything filed away, everything saved, the microwave in the bedroom and the wheelchair ramps. All suggests an aging couple with limited mobility. The brand new Magic Bullets were likely to make nutritional drinks after losing the ability to eat solid food, and the heater was likely because the furnace in the mobile home was not strong enough to keep them warm. The things arrived in the mail after the couple left and the family just stuffed them in the bedroom and they never got used at all. Just delivered and then left to rot.

ABSOLUTELY!!! That always drives me nuts! People always kill any snake they see without trying to find out what kind it is. Rat snakes and king snakes and a few others eat rats, mice, etc, they also eat water moccasins ,rattle snakes, etc! Rats and mice not only cause massive property damage. They also carry very nasty diseases! Google Black Death and bubonic plague just to name a few. Oh and FYI those cute little green snakes and garter snakes will do a massive clean up of all those gross slugs eating your garden ! But wait there’s more. If you still want to “get rid” of snakes on your property get a few pigs and turn them loose. They will hunt down and eat snakes. But then you’ve got a bigger problem feral hogs !!!!! In conclusion LEAVE THE RAT SNAKES ALONE !!!!

Family visited every day as they moved items to the new apartment and storage, despite that, within two weeks, squatters moved in. Every time the windows they broke for entrance was boarded up, they broke another window to get in. My sister knows that one time when she was there, the squatters were there too, hiding.

It's unfortunate when people have a health issue and they lose their home. I could tell there was something going on because of the wall being removed. I think someone needed to use a wheelchair.

This is a great find. I saw a few things that in my family would have been considered family heirlooms; such as the quilts, belt buckles, that awesome lamp. Other things that surprised me were the desk in the living room, the Pyrex(?) in the kitchen (the ones with the blue designs are worth a lot of money), and many other things. (IF you decide to SELL any of the items ONLINE, PLEASE let me know, there are MANY items there that I would like to BUY, and I know my Mom would--and she loves old pictures for some odd reason. And that garage has a LOT of cool stuff in it.) But, this also makes me sad because it looks like they didn't have anyone who would even want the family pictures. It seems like they didn't have anyone but each other.

Go thru things slowly and don't let someone help you just clean out as you've got some good stuff here. Keep everything until you make a decision what you want to do with it. Be smart. You'll be surprised how many "friends" you have when it comes to a treasurer chest of things. You can probably make enuf money from selling things you don't need and get your house fixed up nice and modern. I'd like to see pictures of this as you clean it up. I'm going to subscribe and see what you are able to do with it.
