This video has been highly requested and something we are super super excited to show you. In this video we show to love and bond Shadow the dog and Shelby the macaw have as they show the world that interspecies friendships can happen! A heartwarming short film about a dog and a macaw who are best friends, something you may never have seen or heard of before. If you wondered if you can own a dog and a parrot, or you have found yourself asking "do parrots and macaws get along?" then this is the video for you.
Macaws and dogs can get along, and this is just one example of that. If you're looking for a wholesome video, then we have made the perfect one just for you. Macaws and dogs, macaws and cats, parrots and other pets can be successful.
When free flying our macaw together with Shadow, the sight of the dog and parrot together is something we will always find completely breathtaking

This made me cry and I agree and understand. My dog & macaw have a friendship but I would never leave them unsupervised. Thanks for adding the information about toxicity of saliva to birds. I get seriously scared when I see people letting birds in their mouths etc. You have done a spectacular job integrating your family and the video seriously made me 😭.

I have always believed that love comes in all shapes and sizes. The love (yes, love) these 2 friends share is beyond words or explanation. I see it. I have always been able to see what others do not since I was a child. I am old now and in bad health, but I see, really SEE these 2. Shelby knows Shadow will be gone 1st. Shadow knows it also. It's why they spend so much time together just being what the other needs or enjoying annoying each other. They want to learn all they can about each other because each thinks the other is kooky, weird, so much fun and just good-hearted. They DO understand. LOVE. It's pure 'God giifted to them' LOVE. They both truly, truly get it. Outstanding! 😊.

I can see thd inportance of having care givers ready to take one of thg hese parrots Im currently 49 considering a parrot after a lot of research inti which is best I have had animal's my entire life since birth Even if a human adopts one of th hese beautiful birds at 25 years of age their pet will probably out live them
Im very impressed that yiu train your birds ti fly As a child i did this with a bird i had for quire a while i had a gift a sapose because there were no books on the subject that i had and certainly no you tube channels But i was an only child and spent hours just observing animal's lucky enough to have a mum that allowed me ti have several pets but i also found babh bitds in the woids with no mother's I was blessed at 12 years old to raise a crow and in the 80's no one around seemed aware of ghe intelligence She would fly and return on my arm so it is not unheard of in my world im only very pleased you discovered how to do this as well you seem very intuned to animals ❤
Shelby will also have to deal with the death of her owners. She will outlive them both and have to learn to live with a new owner the final years of her life.
Perhaps... being old sucks. But see that kid in the background? If she fosters a friendship with that bird, or likewise any other family or friends of the family, Shelby will at least spend her life with people she knows and trusts c:
