There seems to be misconception that this is a hateful list.
A design can be unique and cool but still be ugly, this isn't "Top 10 Dragons I hate the most"
I wish people would read the title and listen to what I actually say in the video before getting defensive over nothing.
Most of the dragons on this list are dragons I like but that I still find ugly.
Thanks to everyone who left a comment with their picks for ugly dragons, it's interesting to see the diversity and you actually understood the point of the video. ❤️
It is blankly obvious that this is first of all a subjective list, and thus it should be respected as it is. It is *your* opinion and that is totally fine. Moreover, this is not a hateful list, I mean we all know you love HTTYD as much aus we do. Sooo... eveb though you find them ugly it doesn t mean you hate them. Aaaand finally why spread hate ? If you disagree, that s fine but don t hate.

I think the thunderpeed would look better if it’s arms were wings and not on its neck it just makes Me cringe up to high heaven and makes my stomach pit at the same time ugh gives me the hebigibes
I say the Abomibumble is ugly for me and my least favourite dragon out of the hybrids species as it's tail put's me off.

For me there arent really ugly dragons, only some hybrids and the thunderpede, but the dragons look, are actually more based on opinions etc. The most dragons here are actually amazing looking. Just as most dragons are overall.

My opinion on this list
10)- I kinda see it but it also looks cool
9)- Weird design but badass in execution
8)- Looked way better in the first movie. Understandable.
7)- Also understandable, but is an epic design
6)- Agree. Man there are a lot of boulder class dragons on here.
5)- looks average to me
4)- I agree but this is one of the coolest designs in the series.
3)- Ok. This guy is the last entry on steroids, but come on. This guy is epic.
2)- I totally get it.
1)- very cool design.

Dragons that I like on this list 10 I see it as cool 9 same reason as snow raith 7 only thing I hate about it is split jaw 6 he's the coolest Boulder class dragon in my opinion 5 I hate it too but not in a bad way we need more bug like dragons 4 one word awesome 3 same reason as whispering death 1 I know he's goofy but looks like a guardian dragon
I Like 7, I don’t know why she doesnt like them. She said. “Thank the gods for not putting it on the big screen” that’s so mean :( I like the dragon. Also the screaming death to. It’s so cool, Also the shellfire is cool to me, I like it. I’m sad for her telling :((((. It’s so mean.
It’s nice to see another list video that influences people to discuss their opinions around a topic! Also, it may just be my discombobulated brain but the shellfire looks like someone glued a bunch of Doritos to a melted kidney bean

The Night Fury and Bewilderbest I think are the most beautiful since the Fury is just so sleek in color and appearance while the Bewilderbeast is the Alpha but it does look amazing
Night fury: legit a hybrid of the cutest cat and a bat. Bewilerbeast: "No need to fight for me, ladies, I get my horns are amazing"

Hey...the Screaming Death is one of my favourite Dragons, bc of his deatly look, the red eyes and those red mark on his tail...it looks very cool to me

@@SilverWillowWing I actually have a bit of history with this dragon. In elementary school my friend told me that there was a new dragon called the Screaming Death. I didn't believe it until a trailer fir defenders of berk popped up. I saw this massive white beast and immediately was a big fan of it.

Cuz they tried to take as much of the gritty, intimidating detail of the first movie out of the Gronkle.
Same! But only the 1st movie's model tho. The other 2 are downright hideous. The 1st movie's model looked scary and cute at the same time.

Honestly when the Krayfin was a baby during “Secret of the leviathan” I thought it was pretty cute but then it became an adult and personally when I saw it as an adult all my nice feelings towards it just said “Aight ima head out”
Before watching this I had no idea that the Shellfire existed, so when I saw it’s face I actually started laughing

I'll admit, the Gronkle isn't the prettiest dragon, but I love the design! Not all dragons are supposed to be pretty, and that's okay 😊
Same with the Screaming Death and Whispering Death. They're supposed to look more terrifying, and I honestly ADORE how snake-like it was when Toothless pinned them down from the sky.
Besides the 2 dragon that are strictly in the game and the Snow Wraith, Willow just doesn't like tidal class or boulder class dragons. The boulder class have big chins on purpose because they are rock/lava eating dragons so they have bigger mouths for different functions such as scoping the rocks or just eating a lot in general. Also in the case of the Screaming or Whispering Death, they have big jaws just for digging and tearing through the gravel and dirt. As for the tidal, I have no clue. Keep making vids!
Tidal has a big mouth so they could scream at peeps faces, but also to puke water

That being said yea, a lot of the dragons are weirdly designed but it's mostly to be easily recognised and unique

How could you not mention the horrendous BUFFALORD. That dragon makes these guys look pretty compared to it!

gronckles aren't ugly in my opinion. if you see "race to the edge" u can see meatlug and the other gronckles are really cute!
Limbs may be relatively tiny for the Thunderdrum, keeping in mind that it's actually more lightweight in comparison to many of the HTTYD dragons.
Screaming Deatg has actually SICK design. I love it !
I appreciate them all tbh but the one dragon I will always dispise is the Thunderpede- oh and number 2. That's the only dragon I don't like lol though I do support a lot of these comments.
The Shellfire is in my opinion the ugliest design we ve got in the HTTYD universe (not counting RR here...). It just doesn t fit in the world I think.
The Thunderpede also earns a spotlight in that category. It is just so weird and... ugly.
But I really like the Gronckle though. It doesn t look particularly appealing but I think it is adorable. Also, the Screaming and Whispering Death are indeed pretty ugly, but I think they ve got their class.

Uragaan isn't a dragon though, he's more like a dinosaur. I have a real love/hate relationship with that fight. Lol

The shellfire is a beautiful dragon. It's up high on my tier list. The wings are because its a tidal, class 8 at most, dragon. It's ment to have wings looking funky. But it's very ominous and all round amazing

The Gronckle is ugly but cute at the same time, how is that even possible, can’t say the same about the Quaken, the nostrils being it’s eyebrows ruins it
Off topic but here is a theory iv noticed about some of the dragon designs
Specifically a theory that the thunderdrum and the whispering/screaming death have a common ancestor
1. Long curved nasal horn
2. Large bulging eyes near said nasal horn
3. Long tail covered in needle like spikes
4. Long needle like teeth that may hinder the dragon’s ability to see or close its jaw
5. Rows or triangular point’s running down the throat
6. Round circle like jaws

If there is a dragon that needed to be on this list, it's the Grim Gnasher

The proportions are off- barrel chests, tiny waists, and skinny tails
The face needs serious improvement
The colors don't help either

Edit: it'a highly unlikely that the Shellfire can fly, it's a Titanwing deep sea dragon
Now come cloudjumper is so huge it makes no sense in the game the deathgripper is so slow but in the movie they kept up with a nightfury?? Why?? And the body of both whisper and screaming deaths jus looks not good

The Shellfire doesn't fly so the wings are meant to be designed like that so it swims.
I've noticed the HTTYD franchise loves its wide-body and large chined dragons.
Honestly my list of the ugliest dragons in the HTTYD franchise is long. Most of them comprised of weird chin spikes, large chins, large heads, wide bodies, tiny limbs, wide mouths, odd eye placement and obvious slow in design which makes it really obvious why Toothless is the fastest dragon.
Then there are some like the Skrill, Flightmare and Triplestrike which are awesome dragons but I feel are let down by small features; the head shape for the skrill and flightmare, and the tiny legs for the Triplestrike.
Most of the dragon designs feel like they came out of a random design element splice.
The Triple stryke doesn't have tiny legs

Gronckles are (for me) amazing and they look great. In fact most dragons on this list I think look good with a few nitpicks.
I always liked the Whispering Death and the Screaming Death because they look so unusual for a dragon in, you know, common meaning

Sorry for the many words in this comment) Horns on the shellFire look like a bighorn cows horns wich is honestly where i think they got the idea from the 3 ugliest in my O is thunderpede, shellFire and the 1 befor the shell fire i forgot the name
And lets not forget the problem with toothlesses Legs hanging down thats not how they are in any of the movies the light furys legs come in But if they can do that with the light fury why not toothles? And the fact that there are no new quests make me mad when i play the game

The Thunderdrum is losing it's legs to adapt to being a sea dragon and swimming all the time
As a child I was actually scared of the whispering death and the thunderdrum (the drawing from the book in the first movie)

I am,too,not a big fan of the big chin gang,but oml do I LOVE all of these sea angler-like monstrosities with thousands of needle teeth,large mouth and that long spiky tail...so yea,I LOOVE the whispering death,and quite adore the thunderdrum,but I,too,am not a gronckle person.There are just as many dragons as many there are different opinions about them.I guess most of us can only agree on the fact that thunderpede looks...questionable x)

I love the Cavern Crasher. The beak make it look like a bald lizard bird. I think it is the only dragon in the HTTYD universe that has a beak. That is pretty interesting!

In my opinion, i love the Quaken and Whispering/screaming family because of their ugliness, it like they ugly but in the good way, their ugliness is the reason why they look absolutely gorgeous.

I agree with a lot of these. Especially the game only dragons. But I did like the shellfire and some others. But the main reason I don’t notice a lot of these flaws in the dragons is that I love the character and personality of them!

I find some dragons on this list to be cute looking than ugly. For example, the Gronckle reminded me of a pug with its big derpy eyes and dog-like behavior. but that's just on opinion of mine

Silver! i was on etsy and i saw the most glorious (prob didn't spell that right LOL) Sisu art doll, i think you should get it and do a review on it! Its the one that looks super derpy, and has the most disturbing face that stares into your soul :)

Bpulder class dragons are like geodes usually not very pretty on the outside but the insides are intricate and beautiful. Also i believe lots of bpulder class dragons have the strong jaw because of they things they consume. They need stronger jaws to eat things like rocks, crystals, and geodes. Their mouths need more room for theore muscle. But thats just my opinion
