    While you are doing the blasting have you tried taping black building paper to the back of the glass. I think you will find that you are better able to follow your shades and blends. Black building paper available at most home improvement stores. Cut the black paper approximately 3/8 to 1/2 inch smaller that the glass and use blue painter's tape around the edge. Give it a try.

    Nice job - now maybe people will realize just how much work [prep] goes into each job.
    What pressure are you sandblasting at - I normally sandblast @ 60 psi with alum oxide
    Cheers

    Really cool! I wish I knew all the specs on your system. I'm teaching myself etching and I have gone through ALOT of trial and error as far as compressor size, pressure, CFM, abrasive. it's a lot of trial and error but when you get to that point where you can just work I bet it feels great! haha

    O really cool i can see how glass can be made to have these design transfered then sandblasted. But curious is there away to add colors like how church windows have. Still trying to figure out the options for coloring your glass. There looks to be some videos on a type of acyrilics paint that one can used but kind of curious of most of the options one could go with and what the benifits of each over the other would. If anybody knows alot about this please do a video on it love to see it

    Gosh that was fun to watch on a Sat. morning. What would you suggest for a total beginner? I have always loved Etched glass. Is sandblasting the same as etched? I know the process is different, but just wondered if they are the same medium. So skilled and so much hard work. Beautiful

    Could you please tell me where you get your masking film from, what thickness and brand, also what size (diameter) nozzle (and type) you use, under what pressure and what medium and grit. Did you change the pressure (or nozzle) for shading, stay further away or use a different grit medium etc. Trying to accumulate specific information and details on this type of work so I don't make a myriad of mistakes trying to learn the basics. Thank you for any information you may provide.

    Éste tipo de arte por éstos lados del mundo No lo pagan, yo desde hace el año 2004 lo vengo desarrollando con poco mercado e interés por parte de esta gente que no valora ésta técnica, pero aunque no me paguen lo que significa realizar No me rindo. Siempre es un agrado ver a otros realizado su arte y validando el espíritu de Sandblasting un glass, gracias por hacerme sentir orgulloso, un abrazo desde la distancia, saludos cordiales desde Chile

    • @MrAriano65
      @MrAriano65 2 роки тому

      @@dianadominguez4147 hola Diana, según mi experiencia te puedo contar que debes saber lo siguiente.
      Primero, sobre cuál material usarás el grabado ya que no todos tienen el mismo resultado.
      Segundo, si es arena común puedes usarla SIEMPRE seca y usarla por proyección de particulado con equipo de aire tipo compresor de capacidad mínima de 50 litros y presión de 100 psi u 8 bares.
      Tercero, existen otros materiales como la granalla grano grueso o mediano pero es más pesada y requieren más presión de aire y capacidad de estanque (equipo de compresor de aire mayor...de 100 litros mínimo.
      Existen además óxido de aluminio en diferentes granulometrias. Eso lo pueden conseguir en empresas que fabriquen lijas y vendan material para fabricarlas. Y existen desde grados gruesos hasta los más finos como llegando casi al similar al polvo talco.

I think you should consider teaching classes if you have not already, you have the requirements for a teacher, who knows you may have "Donna's Glass Art Institute" I was prepared to pay for this info, Create HD DVD of other techniques I am sure you have and sell it, Any thing worth having or learning is worth paying for, think about it.
