@@canaldoa7969 I " sort of " liked the Elixor version of Dior Sauvage. It was " okay," but for me, not as great as many of the UA-cam frangrance influencers say it is. I ended up not buying it. But, I did check out some other fragrances while at Sephora. And I REALLY liked YSL Y Parfume. Thank you.

Love Elixir. I think it’s more mature and it’s higher quality. More closer to a Niche fragrance than a designer fragrance.

The first initial spray for Elixir is definitely stronger, warm and spicy, where as the regular sauvage is more fresh and clean. I do want to mention that the drydown on the Elixr is incredible though, it has a nice warm sweet vanilla, cinnamon scent to it.
I tried it this morning and wasn’t too impressed by the opening - I figured it was a no go then about 10 minutes later I caught whiff of an rich, dreamy dark scent that surprised the hell out of me. 10 hours later it’s still projecting and I just ordered a bottle despite it being so expensive because it’s the nicest dry down I’ve ever smelled (and I own 30+ fragrances)

Notice how the first few girls didn't like Elixir and then the girls later on almost unanimously preferred it? I feel like it has to do with the dry down, Elixir seems to be unbeatable after its harsh opening

I don't pick up Sweetness in Elixir, just mostly a Cinnamon Woody Fragrence that goes above and beyond. ELIXIR is on a completely different Level and it's amazing, Last forever on my skin (Beast Performance) but I still like my Original Suvage EDT. Got to have both in a collection.

I blindly bought elixr, didn't like it at first smell, and thought what have i done spending so much money, well 4 days later I'm addicted to it and want to smell it all the time, I was the same with creed aventus. The complexity puts people off the first time they smell it, but then it becomes amazing, it's like single malt scotch.
Agreed! I wear it every day, one spray is even enough to last 12 hours
Man literally story of my life, many times i spray elixir and go why the hell did I spend so much on my 100 mL bottle but then the dry down shuts me up with those regretful thoughts.
I think the opening smells dark & fresh, but as it dries down the freshness gets toned down a bit and the darkness and ambery woody scent takes control and I'm in love with it.
I love fresh scents but the freshness of Elixir's opening isn't something I particularly like tbh.

Is the cinnamon in Elixir more on the dry side or is it creamy?
I tried Elixir sample and i have to say, compare it really similiar to sauvage EDP. like Elixir and EDP have the same vibe, not the parfum or EDT.

Alexandria Fragrances made Ete Sauvage Elixir. It’s the best clone ever in my opinion. I’ve never smelled a clone of anything that was identical, but this one is damn near it. I really can’t tell a difference, except the projection is just a tad less, but not much. It also lasts long too. It’s very inexpensive compared to Sauvage Elixir. There’s 2 reviews on UA-cam so far and the reviewers agree.

Dior made perfection with the edt, but elixir is really good too. Would definitly get it if it wasn't for the price and small bottle.
What are your opinions on newer batches? I never got to smell batches prior to 2018 which is the year they reformulated it (if I'm not incorrect).
@@oscardiaz3636 was the sent reformulated or just the projection? I remembered that it smelled really good pre 2019 but now it still smells really good but not as good as what I remember. On clothes it lasts for days but on skin I would say it lasts 5-6 hours

Hello, I’m very new to the fragrance world. I just picked up a bottle of Calvin Klein eternity for men edt. I personally like the smell and so do my friends but a lot of people I talk to tell me it’s cheap and crappy. What would you recommend to a newbie?

I tried Elixir today and I do think it’s the best Sauvage. The problem is I already have the EDP and it doesn’t feel right spending that much money on a new version. Maybe I will wait until it hits discounters one day (if that ever happens with Dior fragrances)!

Sauvage Elixir is a long-lasting fragrance. Too long on clothes. It is much stronger than EDT. I like the base notes. It is worth going through the opening.

Blind bought elixir. Smells like a really sweet gum in the opening, dries down into a really mature scent i cant put my nose to the exact notes tho but i dont really get the woody/cinnamony vibe to it when i sniff it

@@ND-ku4yo The funny thing is I am not a fan of Layton at all. To me it smells like Vick's Vapor Rub. So I was afraid of building my hopes up and being let down again by a widely-praised fragrance. But the notes between the two seem to be different so the outcome may be different this time.

Should compare with the Parfum because the EDT is just a generic shower gel cheap crap smell. Also better to test on skin than paper everything smells cheap and sharp on paper.
