Qi is the best! I'm 4' 11', tried to stay away long dress and long coat whole life, bought A maxi coat last year, worn it with pointed toe tall boots, received so many complements.
One thing I saw in a video on French fashion was to wear a silk scarf UNDER the turtleneck as a barrier between the wool/cashmere and the skin. This sounds like a good idea for people with sensitive skin. I've been using a base layer of a thin cotton turtleneck or mock neck, but I may try switching it up to a base t-shirt layer and using a silk scarf underneath the neck.
Love these tips! If heels and/or pointy shoes aren't an option with a long coat due to inclement weather or comfort, I think a neutral color boot is next best option or a neutral sneaker that has more width and volume (versus skinny sneaker). So hard to rely on heels / pointy shoes if you're on your feet a lot and walking.
I love flare jeans and know it looks best to wear with heels with a streamlined toe. But on the weekend, I run around with a lot of walking, it is not practical to wear heels. I pair it with almond toed flat shoes with similar color of the jeans. That works well. But when I put on a puffy coat below the knees, it looked off. Chi explained it well. There is too much volume on the bottom half of my body. I switched to a cropped leather jacket. Wow! It looks so much better and cool!
Longer coats are warmer for us skirt and dress wearers, too. I never wore pants once to the office in my whole career, most of us didn’t then. I love the new longer, but trim-bodied, winter coats, they’re so flattering.
Thank you, it’s very helpful! I’ve just bought your book from Amazon - I can’t wait to read it! Are you planning on making a video on how to dress in a cold climate without looking bulky? It’s a challenge for a petite and curvy girl like me. I live in Lithuania, and the temperature drops to -15, and it’s almost impossible to style clothes in such weather conditions. My best wishes, Chi❤️
I'm 4' 11", 105lbs, live in Wisconsin, I can't wear any of my pointed toe boots during snowy season, all snow boots and winter boots make me look bottom heavy. Please make a video about winter boots.
CHI, i love your videos. This one is no exception. Always with great content, informative and entertaining to watch. I noticed the music in this one is a little distracting. It sounds loud and noisy when it is on. Maybe something a little calmer?
I discovered your channel a few months ago, and I'm loving the advice! Also, we live close by, so I can relate to the comments about dressing for our cold weather. Do you think older women can wear shorts and tights with high heeled boots? It looks awesome on you, but could be out of my comfort zone! Also love the cute pointy toe shoes. If you have foot issues, some of these shoes, particularly the heels can present a problem. I guess I'll just keep watching and trying to apply the rules as closely as my circumstances will allow.
Great tips as always, Chi. I always feel I look short in wide-leg pants, I gave up on them. The newest pants style is the tapered, slim leg (but not skinnies, which I never liked much). My long, slim legs are probably my best body feature, I don
Thank you Chi ❤ I am about to buy one of those long coats😍 and i now have a clear idea what to go for ❤ for all of us cute dolls, we need to be more selective and that is okay 🤗 Thank you Chi ❤
What a great video and explains why my jackets don't work. I'm 5'1" and have some midthigh length coats. Are there ways to style those lengths and look good on a petite person?
I had to tailor a coat to raise the belt loop. After that it looked better on my 5’3” frame. As always, thanks for all the good styling ideas and pointers. Did you ever think about writing a book?
Where is the long black coat from at 3:15 ? ( the one without fur) . Worn with the black turtleneck and wide leg jeans? Or any recommendations for one like it?
I bought the longest cist I could find, but I have two maxi dresses which still peak out an inch or so at the bottom. I do not want to shorten them, so there's that.
Do you know any fashion youtuber / blogger etc. who are short and chubby and show off their outfits? All I can find over the web are tip videos / articles, especially your super helpful ones. But I'd like to see "normal" fashion videos as well in which we can see a variety of outfits. Maybe you know people who'd like to talk about their outfits on your channel even?
You can wear whatever brings you joy. But take it from a fellow petite and curvy girl, we want to elongate vertically, not widen horizontally through the middle…

I love your channel and have learned so much from it since finding it 2 years ago. There is nothing else like this that I’ve come across.

Especially hard heels, pointy and thin, nonrubb bottom for snowing and ice, very unpractical.

Turtlenecks are a must in Fall and Winter.
My new years resoultion this year is not to buy new clothes but learn to alter the ones i have to a more flattering fit. Thank you
....the shoulder width always gets me.......I found "drop" and "raglan" shoulders and never looked back:)
@@martaescobar7625 I am going to try those thank you

I like when there is no music. It’s easier to hear you.
One of the best videos tips ever for winter!!! ❤ I love it 🥰 thanks. I am 5’4” 😊

To finish my comment: don’t want to bulk them up. (Somehow I accidentally hit return before finishing).
So happy I got this video😁😅
As usual very detailed and helpful
I love your long black coat with the fur collar, where can I get it from?

I love long coats but it is so hard for me to find one.
2:22 min. It is the same!? Black dress.
The belt is worn lower in the don't version.

Most of the long coats today are very stiff even taller people struggle with it..
The saddest thing I have ever heard fashionwise that as a petite and plus size that I can't wear double breasted coats. 😿
You can wear whatever brings you joy. But take it from a fellow petite and curvy girl, we want to elongate vertically, not widen horizontally through the middle…
❤❤❤
❤
I'm shorter than you 😂
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏👍
So happy I got this video😁😅
