@@savagegearuk1063 That was an excellent pike on the Goby Shad, lure fishing for pike has progressed so much in recent years, when l started lure fishing for pike 50 years ago, lures were generally a lot smaller and a limited choice, now you are spoilt for choice, will certainly be trying these Goby Shads this coming winter.

Great stuff pal love your content because it's all the gear i use. You just catch alot more than i do but i have had great pike on my 20cm silver gobby shad im trying get the spotted bullhead but very hard in cheshire and on internet at minute 👍🎣👌

What size is the Okuma ceymar reel he’s using???
Any info on the specs of the rod, reel and braid you're using?
Rod is Fast Shad 90 gr, same as i have. Reel and braid unknown

He has a okuma ceymar and looks like an okuma epixor on the other rod, looks like silencer braid.

He’s using an okuma epixor reel and not sure what rod but it’s a savage gear rod of some kind check out his channel cast north angling

Not a great idea fishing for pike that are spawning. The shock of capture can cause the females to become spawn bound and die. It also means that by not spawning there is no future generations. Best to leave them alone until late spring and even then not in high water temperatures
This was filmed a few weeks ago before the fish started to spawn.
Agree what you are saying David... He does mention almost middle of march which would only be a week ago... If I'm not mistaken are the regulations for fishing in Ireland limited to 5km from their home and in Northern Ireland you can go fishing/exercise anywhere but you have to stay local...I would love to be able to travel further to go fishing only my bro who is a local councillor has warned me about the restrictions esp traveling north to south
