Your videos are awesome. Best I’ve seen so far. Have helped a lot. Have dealt w rear air suspension, control arms, battery replacement, transmission filter, radiator, coolant issues, cabin air filter, tires, brakes and now dealing w what I think is the need to replace valve cover gasket. You videos have helped w most of these Thank you
I have experienced the first three problems mentioned. I was amazed that within 1000 miles of buying my 2012 750i I had to add a quart of oil. I researched the oil consumption online and found out that BMW considers it "normal". Now I constatnly check my oil level and have been adding a quart jsut about every 1000 miles. Also at 64000 miles I had to have the control arms replaced because the ball joints failed. Prior to 2001 5,6, and 7 series BMWs would experience control arm failure because of poor bushing design. That was solved in the E65/66 series but now its ball joint failure in theF01/F02 series. Not much of an endorsement for "The Ultimate Driving Machine" company's engineering staff. Now even after having the control arms replaced (which made the car more stable) I am still experiencing vibration with my 20" wheels. It's less than it was but I was surprised that it wasn't eliminated. My E65 with 20" wheels was noticeably smoother. BMW is often cited as over-engineering their cars....but a lot of it is poor engineering. I say that as a nearly 50-year mechanical design engineer. Sigh!
I have F01 740i I bought used with under 100k miles. The controls arms and battery were the first things I replaced after purchasing it. I also had to replace the flexible disc between the rear differential and the drive shaft to pass state inspection. I do my own repair work, so it didnt cost much for the parts (FCP Euro). Like you I enjoy this car, it is easier to maintain and work on than the E60 5 series I previously owned. This car is a joy to drive and own. Nice videos!
Nice video. I didn't know about the control arms. But the battery doesn't go bad because of the number of electronic devices. It goes bad because of the huge heat buildup from the N63 engine with the exhaust in the V. This means that the fan needs to run for a long time once you stop (at least in hot climates) and this cycles the battery, killing it over time.
Thank you Francisco! I appreciate your time to make videos. Looking at a 2008. Car blows me away as I have never been in a more quiet, secure feeling vehicle. But I'm not getting any younger & I just don't work on cars anymore. All cars need maintenance like humans. Just don't want to sell the farm to maintain it. German's build nice cars. AS I WORKED AND FIXED LOTS OF THESE CARS, FIRST OIL CONSUMPTION COMES FROM UPPER OIL PAN GASKET LEAK AND BAD VALVE STEM SEAL, PISTON RINGS I HAVE NOT SEEING GOING BAD AT ALL LIKE THIS GUY TALKING, MOST PEOPLE GETS CONFUSED AND THINK RINGS ARE BAD, INSTEAD ITS A BAD VALVE SEALS, I REPLACED A LOTS OF THEM ALREADY, AND IT STOPS SMOKING AND OIL LEVEL WONT DROP. I HAVE FEW VIDEOS ON MY CHANNEL HOW I FIXED OIL LEAKS ON THESE N63 ENGINES
Hello Francisco, can you please make a video about: 1. Replacing light control module 2. Adaptive headlight malfunction repair 3. Replacing module for blind spot monitoring. Thanks so much!
Also the intake vanos solenoids needs to be replaced as well . Around 100K miles or 165,000 km . This causes the car to shake and sets off the Engine light on the dash. Thank you Francisco for the great channel .
Nice color combo. White with black wheels is probably the best color combo. I seen one this color and fell in love. These cars with average miles go around 20,000 dollars. Trust me I checked. 20,000 is the minimum.
BMW needs to go back to building their cars like how they did in the 1970's 1980's and 1990's. My 1983 7 series is built like a tank and is still reliable to this day!
Wish I would've seen this video before I purchased a 2012 750 Li. It has a little over 95000 miles on it. I purchased it from a reputable dealership and within 2 weeks the engine was shot. The tech at BMW said there was brass in the engine. I'm thinking maybe from broken piston rings. A new engine is $27000 plus labor. So I had to purchase a used engine and the labor is over $4000. He's right. Make SURE a BMW is what you want to invest in before purchasing one. This will be my first and my last BMW.
+MDogg 4817 I will recommend to give good maintenance to your BMW used always Castrol or mobil oil 0w40 (European formula) which can work in almost every weather conditions. I know BMW dealer are using the new BMW twin turbo oil which is make by Pennzoil but it is not do good as the Castrol or mobil And when you buy your oil filter make sure to a German brand like mahle, Mann, etc,.. to prevent problems with your BMW engine. I am going to make a new of the maintenance cost of my BMW and i will add the picture and prices of the part that I have purchased online including the oil filter.
Francisco Amaya Thanks. I don't know if the oil had anything to do with the brass. The only information the BMW tech would give is that there was brass in the engine and it had to be replaced. You may be on to something when you mentioned the weak piston rings. Thanks for the information. I will definitely keep that in mind when having my oil and filters changed and look forward to the photos. Thanks.

Biggest problem people in America don’t understand about Herman cars is that the part have expiration dates.not mileage limits. Germans will change parts out of they have a certain age not wait for a certain mileage or until they break. Ferrari Lamborghini and the other super cars are like that also. You can own one of these high door cars and not even drive it and stuff breaks. Gaskets leak , and plastics crack and allow leaks. If your in extreme temps like 100 degrees or super cold like -10 winters , you will see even more problems. Parts age and need changing to these high dollar cars. That’s part of the reason they lose value so much. The other is the cost of parts and labor is so high.
Hey... Got 750i v8 2010. Ignition malfunction. The engine does not crank and does not start. The car is pretty new to me. I'm still driving Mercedes C200 w203 turbo diesel.
Thank you. How about ball joints, timing chain and guides? There is a tool on the internet that can rent for changing valve seals with engine still in car. I looked at one but the rod bearings were out and it was backfiring into the exhaust manifold
Is it the upper or the lower control arms that go bad? Both sides? Ball joints? I like your videos. I am thinking about buying one. I have had many BMW’s over the years. I have a 2002 540i. May I ask on the 2002 540i, if the timing chain guide breaks and the chain goes out, do the valves need to be checked for being bent always? Last question: does this 750 Ix 2012 engine have timing chain problems that need to be maintained
Hi Francisco. I have an F01 3.0 diesel with 105000 kms. What are the symptoms of bad control arms? Vibration or something? Nice video, kind regards, Neil.
You know it is sad to say that back in 2010 I bought a 2005 bmw745li with the same issues here we are years later still the same issues plus more that was the worst by I would ever purchase in my life. Go out and buy a Lexus LS 460L. You can't go wrong.
Hi Francisco, great video. I'm having a problem with TPMS. It will not reset. I spent a looking time looking for the antenna under the car near the driver's seat only to find it mounted inside the rear bumper. I replace dit but the TPMS malfunction warning remains. I think there is a main control unit but I cant find it anywhere. Would you know where the main control module for the TPMS monitoring is on a 2012 (F02) 750LI?
Hi Francisco, and thank you so much for all tips and videos. I have one problem with my F01, 2010. The trunk lock dosen't work. it wont unlock. Not with the remotecontroll, swich inside the car or not with buttom on the trunk. Only manual with the key. The trunk lift engine works still. If you have any tips or clues what could be wrong it would be most appcreciated. Best regards Gunnar from Sweden
Never buy BMW, very bad in everything On top the guy said, my 750li has 170K and already transmission slips and I think clutch has burned Also, it is bad for exosted gas comes inside through the heat vents. Also, from outside it smells like a excavation with burned oil. My verdict: total lemon!!!
Hi, I am having an issue, on my BMW 750i 2009, my wipers turn on unexpectedly and stay on, and I can't turn them off, only if I pull out the fuse or disconnect the battery, then I reconnect it and it stops and then the turn on again
+Francisco Amaya About the 750i, I would like to buy 2013 and up (facelift version) still have very similar problems but the engine was redesigned completely and it has more power.
Hello Francisco, I have an issue with my transmission flickering from P to N when I try to park it and it just gives me an error of transmission malfunction. Any suggestions?
I have one and it stays in the shop at least once a month I just got it out the shop $4000 for drive shaft. Now 4 days later I go outside my air bags are out the back end is sitting on the ground
so u saying the car has bad piston rings? how then would it hold a HIGH compression ratio? r u sure its not doe to the fact with new environmental regulations you can vent oil into the atmosphere and therefore the crank case recirculates oil vapors into the air intake which then gets burned... this process is magnified with any turbo car. i can find many videos and articles explaining this phenomenon. Here is some features i will quote from the n63 motor "high-performance pistons and reinforced cylinder heads to withstand the additional stress from a higher compression ratio." 2 min in and already hearing nonsense, lets go for more. 20inch wheel vibrations... hmmm sure not cheap wheels, friend has an alpina b7 no vibrations with 21'', Entrepreneurs in Cars had the same problem when he bought an aftermarket set for f10 m5
Hi, I'm looking at a 2010 750Li xDrive AWD with 101,494 ml. The dealer is asking $13,985. Do you think this is a reasonable price for this car? What are some of the things I should be looking at or for on the car when examining it? What engine does it have? Thank you for any help
I have a 09 750li and my transmission malfunction was coming on and a few months later the the car was driving funny and stop producing power (drivetrain error). I was told replace my crankshaft valve. Did that nothing. Then transmission oil pan. Didn't not do that because my codes showed misfire. So Bmw dealership said car needs TUNEUP. Did that. Car was driving good then the next day bam drivetrain code again. I only did this when I would drive more than 5 miles. When the signal comes on it shut car down to safe move and I can hear my fan running extremely high for 5 mins with car off. Does this sound like a common issue? Is it a fan or radiator issue or would that have nothing to do with the drivetrain code coming on?
I was thinking to upgrate from my e39 530I to this, but probably not. Touch wood my E39 is going super strong and does not eat any oil, I cannot imagine how a 11years newer model will have problems that my e39 2000 does not.
I guess I can't buy a 2011or 12 750li with or without the turbo I don't hear anything good about these cars anymore and I want one so bad I don't want to be at the shop 5 to 6 times a year just pitiful.may he a Mercedes s63 I guess or c63

Hello, I'm thinking of purchasing a 2012 BMW 750li but when I went to see it and the sales man turned it on, the engine was making a loud clicking noise coming out of both sides of the block. We asked the salesman what was that noise, he claims that all BMW's sound the same, 🤔 does yours have a clicking sound? I have a video but I can't attach it to this comment.
It got the tu Valvetronic engine. 2014 2015 are better cars than earlier ones. This is all I can say. I'm looking between marying a hooker or buying a F01,haven't decided yet.
Louis-Philippe Lavoie just bought that car yesterday and drove it home 8 hours.. AMAZING is all I can say. 20k on dash so hopefully shit stays intact for a while
I bought a 2014 750i with the TU engine with 34,000km and in 2 years all I’ve had to do is add 4 litres of oil (the car tells you when required) and replace the drivers side door handle which wasn’t cheap as it’s painted and coded to the car. It’s a great car, and I’ve done 55,000km now. No regrets at all, if anything it’s the best car I’ve ever owned. Just service it correctly and don’t drive it like you stole it. I learned that from my AMG years back, if you drive it hard then expect repair bills.
I don;t understand why till this day after more than 10 years of garbage cars, everyone still considers BMW and Benz THE IT cars. Reliability = trash. Price = Overpriced. Maintenance=arm and a leg.... LEXUS ALL THE WAY.

My 750Li has no leaks and I haven't noticed any smoking but it's definitely burning up oil. About a quart and half in 2000 miles of highway driving.
What's the fix and how expensive is the repair?
Cary Coller man I would say that’s the design problem, my friends said the fuel injector can also cause the huge oil consumption
@@jackyna7444 fuel injector cause huge oil cons. hell no,the stem valve gasket cause oil consup.
Cary Coller it’s the PCV and it costs around 1000$ to fix
Damn Right
This was a great video
Thanks!!!!!
Yes I used to have one 750i , two x5 , and many others bmws ! And all of that problems on those cars are topically true ! And not to mention he forgot the do have trouble problems on all windows, oil cap ! Cooling etc ! I do love bmws they my favorites cars ! But wouldn’t buy another one ... i did spend a lot money 💰 fixing all and every single bmw I have!!

Thank you. I only had to watch 2 minutes
Damn, my last 2 cars have been lexus and I was looking for a change. All the people I know that have BMW tell me to stick with Lexus
Renaldo Moore cuz they don’t want you stunting on Dey hating ass!!
I choose my 7series over my GS-F everyday
I want Bmw but I can’t deal with the problem but I still want Bmw 😭😭
Lexus Is way more cheaper to maintain than a bmw
Yeah you can't go wrong with that version Toyota
Hey... Got 750i v8 2010. Ignition malfunction. The engine does not crank and does not start. The car is pretty new to me. I'm still driving Mercedes C200 w203 turbo diesel.
My AC automatically turns on constantly. It's a 750 Li 2010.it won't stay off..the battery loses charge and goes dead I don't drive it to much
Me too
Do you have the original battery? If you install other battery it needs to be registered.
Thanks for this. What has been your experience with the transmission in these F01 and F02?
They have problems mainly because people never replace the transmission fluid
Thank you. How about ball joints, timing chain and guides? There is a tool on the internet that can rent for changing valve seals with engine still in car. I looked at one but the rod bearings were out and it was backfiring into the exhaust manifold
what about problem with engine and gearbox ??:)
Last question: does this 750 Ix 2012 engine have timing chain problems that need to be maintained
thank you for the info!
I have a question for you can you put a 2014 BMW Alpina motor into a 2014 BMW 750i if both of them RWD
MANNNNN! I HAVE A 2011 750LI..MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AT 60K...NOW IT SMOKES AND WONT PASS EMMISION..BACK TO LEXUS I GO!!
Bro I got a Lexus should I not go bmw ?
My Lexus been damm loyal to me and it has a lot of miles
Hi Francisco. I have an F01 3.0 diesel with 105000 kms. What are the symptoms of bad control arms? Vibration or something? Nice video, kind regards, Neil.
You know it is sad to say that back in 2010 I bought a 2005 bmw745li with the same issues here we are years later still the same issues plus more that was the worst by I would ever purchase in my life. Go out and buy a Lexus LS 460L. You can't go wrong.

Can you help w info on 2012 750 Li valve body .. problem after having replace engine
Yes i replace them
Im asking if the new parts from bmw are better and last longer than original? Thanks
Hi Francisco. What do you think about 750 active hybrid?
I was about to get one 2012L x drive M but I don';t think so anymore, it burns oil, smells so bad on the exhaust pipe I don't know if I really should.
Never buy BMW, very bad in everything
On top the guy said, my 750li has 170K and already transmission slips and I think clutch has burned
Also, it is bad for exosted gas comes inside through the heat vents.
Also, from outside it smells like a excavation with burned oil.
My verdict: total lemon!!!
thank you, tell to us so many things
Thanks !!! Good info! What state are you in? I want you as my mechanic!
Hi, I am having an issue, on my BMW 750i 2009, my wipers turn on unexpectedly and stay on, and I can't turn them off, only if I pull out the fuse or disconnect the battery, then I reconnect it and it stops and then the turn on again
What about the 730d msport do they have common faults i need to look out for?
thank you for sharing amigo!
would you buy it again?
+relikvija
Yes, I would buy it again.
I like BMW's, I am planning to buy a 2009 and up 650i or a X5 50i/X5M
+Francisco Amaya
About the 750i, I would like to buy 2013 and up (facelift version) still have very similar problems but the engine was redesigned completely and it has more power.
Hello Francisco,
I have an issue with my transmission flickering from P to N when I try to park it and it just gives me an error of transmission malfunction. Any suggestions?
Probably you need to replace the transmission fluid. It could have low pressure. Also replace the filter
I have one and it stays in the shop at least once a month I just got it out the shop $4000 for drive shaft. Now 4 days later I go outside my air bags are out the back end is sitting on the ground
Im having and issue, no air blows in front at all. It does blow in the back. I have replaced the blower motor. What can it be?2011 alpina b7
If people complain about the MAINTENANCE!!! Go a head and buy a Toyota Nissan honda or Kia#!! Simple as that!!
I want one so bad but the maintenance is ridiculous
so u saying the car has bad piston rings? how then would it hold a HIGH compression ratio? r u sure its not doe to the fact with new environmental regulations you can vent oil into the atmosphere and therefore the crank case recirculates oil vapors into the air intake which then gets burned... this process is magnified with any turbo car. i can find many videos and articles explaining this phenomenon.
I had an e39 (520i 2002) it has similar problems, looks like it's a bmw weaknesses
Hi,
I'm looking at a 2010 750Li xDrive AWD with 101,494 ml. The dealer is asking $13,985. Do you think this is a reasonable price for this car? What are some of the things I should be looking at or for on the car when examining it? What engine does it have? Thank you for any help
Hi, on the oil consumption part can't you just put a oil cache can like the g35 infinity?
Your thoughts on a 2013 740LI V6 3.0 Do they share similar issues?
I was about to get a 2012 750 li but I think I’ll pass and look at either a S class or Lexus or even a 2011 DTS
Wy dont you a 740i e38. I have a 740i from 1998.
Still get it but Get carshield Insurance on any bmw that’s used,
Ruud De jager no antiques
king Nutty that’s like a second car note ?
Kacino Liggens did you figure it out!? I’m thinking of buying an 09 as well! This isn’t my first bmw but man these reviews are scaring me
I am guessing probably Machatronic adapter and sleeves along with transmission filter and oil change.
Noah Cross hi. Did you got it? Am thinking in getting a 09
I was thinking to upgrate from my e39 530I to this, but probably not. Touch wood my E39 is going super strong and does not eat any oil, I cannot imagine how a 11years newer model will have problems that my e39 2000 does not.
Where's the bmw 750i power steering reservoir location
I guess I can't buy a 2011or 12 750li with or without the turbo I don't hear anything good about these cars anymore and I want one so bad I don't want to be at the shop 5 to 6 times a year just pitiful.may he a Mercedes s63 I guess or c63
Does the models with the 445 hp engine burns a lot of oil too?
I have a 2013 BMW X5 Xdrive50i with 445 hp and it burns oil too.
Where is your shop???I am experiencing the same stuff.Drive train malfunction. I spent so much money to fix and these mechanics aren't honest. Have the same model with same size tires as yours. Done the plugs, coils changed. The brakes I experienced the same thing. HELP

750i or 740xd? Whats your opinion?
so what is the best type machine from BMW? how about 4 cylinder twin turbo in LCI 5 series?
I thought the oil consumption was due to valves stem seals leaking? It's a common problem with hot V configure v8s.
Yes you're 100% correct...
Thought so - cheers...
Is valve guide seals not rings
Hi Francisco how are you.
How do i fix the smoke problem while seating in traffic without spending that dealership money.
You can try by replacing your pcv valves first and see the results
@@franciscoamayaYT thanks so much Francisco
My 2010 750i xdrive just turned over 105k burns oil front suspension squeaking HUD stopped working battery drains if I let it sit for long periods wouldn’t trade her for nothing
Suarez fam don’t do it dude get a Indy shop to look it over first... should not be making that sound.
@@bigstivks3355 Thanks dude. It sounded like a freakin' diesel. It was quite loud.
No, that is NOT "normal". My 2012 750i doesn't make that kind of noise. Something is wrong regardless of what a salesman says.
No it's gonna leave u broke runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
Gracias
Hello, plz can you post a video showing how to bleed coolant system. I have x5 with n63 and i cannot bleed it
Just open both of the coolant tank caps and fill it up.
2014 bmw 750li xdrive. Car has 20k on it. Is it worth a buy?
It got the tu Valvetronic engine.
2014 2015 are better cars than
earlier ones. This is all I can say.
I'm looking between marying a
hooker or buying a F01,haven't
decided yet.
Louis-Philippe Lavoie just bought that car yesterday and drove it home 8 hours.. AMAZING is all I can say. 20k on dash so hopefully shit stays intact for a while
Louis-Philippe Lavoie 2014 750li
Wow congradulation my man!
2002 E430 with over 220k and I've only replaces the left engine mount and right wheel hub..... So your statment is false
Where is the button to raise hieght in car 750i 2007
do u know how to fix the excessive oil consumption and what parts needed to replace?
i have 750li 2009
Most of the time it can be the valve stem seal or the turbo charger
Francisco Amaya thank you
approximately how much does it cost to get it fixed ?
That is like 5k all together. Valve stems seals are like 2.5k
Hi. My 2010 BMW 750li trunk/boot won't open anymore. Tried with the remote and even the button inside but it won't open. Please tell me how to fix this.
Did you check for broken fuses?
@@franciscoamayaYT I've fixed it. Thanks. It was the button in the middle compartment. I mistakenly switched it to lock. Just had to switch back to unlock
Where are you located would LOVE TO UTILIZE YOUR SKILL SET TO become my mechanic
Question. I have a 2014 bmw 750li with only 25k. Ac is blowing warm air. Hooked up the ac pro recharge system thing and it shows no refrigerant needed. What do you think the problem is? Obd scanner did not pull any codes
Check the ambient temperature sensor
Check if the ac clutch is engaging
Francisco Amaya how hard is it to check these things and where would they be located at?
It is easy to check the ac compressor all you have to do, it is to see if it rotates. The sensor is the same one that displays on the dashboard
Every time I start my 2009 F02 get a notification on the Electronic dampening is it because I have 22s rims on it? Can it be deleted?
