I feel largely the same way about grands at Bonito, I felt Leo would reset but that might be partly hopium. But grands, was more “what’s gonna happen, Spargo does win these… ohhhh Leo wins these… ohhh (holds breath)”. Great sets, it finished pretty much the same time as Cirque. I appreciate that in spite of having a horrible experience that you hope they have another tourney, and that people show, and that they make improvements. That’s a strong mentality, I’ve heard story’s about smash tournaments in the US that were nightmares too more back in brawl and you learn what doesn’t work. And if they do the same things the next time, competitors learn where not spend their time traveling to. 😅 Great show my GOATs!
Cosmos is a bad player. Watch his gameplay. He is a full blown scrub. I wouldn't say this about any other top player because it's not true about any top player.
I use a pro controller. I'm fully aware, it's inferior to game cube. I just don't want to relearn all my muscle memory. However, I always plug my pro into the switch so the delay isn't as bad, and it can't just disconnect randomly. I think everyone else who uses a pro should consider doing the same.
I obviously don't play at majors but I thought it was mandatory for pro controllers to be plugged in. It doesn't make sense not to plug them in. At the least to avoid batteries getting low in a set
The Pro Controller has its advantages over GC: - A lot easier on the hands and comfortable; GC requires more force to press most inputs. It’s easier to “move fast and press buttons fast” with it. - No having notches helps A LOT with aiming recoveries exactly where you want. - The triggers are WAY better when used for jumping. Keep in mind the Pro Controller has significantly more delay when in wired mode (needs to be enabled in the console settings). Otherwise it is practically the same as GC when wireless.
The delay is actually worse when plugged in. I know it doesn’t make sense but it’s true. There are special 3rd party pro controllers that has a wire that’s as fast and reliable as GC controllers
At 3:00 when Leo talks about skyjay getting 33rd, the editor shows his match vs a Bowser player. Wouldn't it be more relevant to show a clip of him against the Min Min that sent him to losers? That's something I've noticed about these videos, the small clips don't go with the dialogue
@lokks2130 Both sets against Ente and Longo were played offstream. The only Skyjay matches that can be found on UA-cam are the pools ones. Hope I have helped you.
There’s a setting where pro controllers have to be wired in which imo should be necessary for at least stage matches. Sometimes it may not be possible for the cord to reach, or the switch doesn’t have enough ports, but there are very easy solutions to both of those
you can just use the pro con wired instead of using blue tooth right? wired just seems way easier to everyone involved i just a 3rd party pro controller because i can use a wireless USB receiver instead of bluetooth, which is faster and easier

What actually happened with Bonito Harbor? I wish they just explained it here it's kinda annoying. I have no idea where to look to find out what happened.
TLDR version some people were smoking inside the venue and Leo and Law were offered some. They thought smoking was allowed there so they agreed. They found out later it was not permitted and as punishment Leo either would not get paid or get the pay he would have gotten otherwise reduced.
Leo was offered to smoke weed and he accepted but apparently it was not allowed and this caused trouble for the tournament and instead of DQ'ing Leo the TO sanctioned him by taking a part of his prize for 2nd place. Basically that little group smoking weed caused logistical problems and then people were blaming Leo for it but his defense in twitter was I wasn't the one who started it and that they weren't doing bag checks for weed in the first place (love Leo but that was a weak defense that shifted the blame to other people, even if he wasn't the one who started it he still did something he wasn't supposed to do)
With the pro controller, doesnt it work in wired mode if its plugged into the switch? At a high level of play you cant afford to trust a wireless connection
To disable wireless when wired you have to enable Wired Communication in the console settings, but that adds significant input delay for some reason making it essentially unusable. It’s like 50% more latency. It sucks. That’s the main reason why most Pros don’t use it even if a lot agree that it’s a good controller otherwise.
I'm surprised Chase and other pro controller players haven't gotten a progcc pro controller. Tournament legal and none of the downsides of the traditional one (except being wired, which is a pro in this case).
