Hi Andy, some really great videos. I was wondering if you have any plans for a video on Migrating from an on-premise file server to Microsoft Sharepoint? Maybe explain the best practices and how to arrange the old shares in separate sites or all in one SharePoint site. I think it would be really useful as there is not much around explaining this. I ask you to help in a question of work with Sharepoint. Documents have been saved to the desktop through synchronization. If you accidentally delete a large number of documents and return them using the button, how does this operation appear in the system? Can it show in the system that the documents were allegedly resent somewhere, instead of being deleted? Is it possible to resend documents at once directly from Sharepont or do I need to download them first? Moreover, the computer and all programs are protected and only the administrator has full access.
Any documents that you delete from SharePoint document libraries are generally retained for up to 93 days, as I mentioned in the video. Beyond that, unless you have an archive enabled your data would be lost. Users who have permissions to restore their own data can easily do so from within the recycle bins. If the laptop in question does not have an account for which you have authority to use. Then I would seek admin assistance.
I have a question about file transfer thing. Let me give a quick example. Let's say I have a company. And in this company we have different departments like Ne (company's name) IT Services , Ne Restaurants... I created new team sites for this departments. And each departments have sub parts like accounting, advertisement... Then I have main sharepoint site too (Ne Company). And in this site I have that sub parts too (accounting, advertisement...). What I want is when someone edits, adds etc. files in other departments sharepoint sites I want the same work done in our main sharepoint site (Ne Company). I want to sync folders between sites but it must be one way (Departments => Company). How can I do that? Thanks for everything.
I would create a Team (This also creates a Microsoft 365 group ands Team web site). Then create channels (sub sites) for your different departments. Then set permissions in Teams. It's a more modern way to do what you're trying to do :-)
Hi Andy, is there a SharePoint MS exam? I can find exams for Exchange (ms-220) and Teams (ms-700/720), but can't seem to find anything for SharePoint?? Thanks
Hi Richard, there are no exams for SharePoint Online, but there are a couple that cover hybrid technologies. docs.microsoft.com/en-us/certifications/exams/ms-301 and docs.microsoft.com/en-us/certifications/exams/70-339 I’m not sure why but MS Learning seems to have back-pedalled on SharePoint certs. The 301 is fairly good. Also the Teams certs contain quite a lot of sharepoint. Anyway, good luck 👍😊
I appreciate the great content for us techies. Would you consider removing the flashing screen portion of the intro or putting a warning at the start? It can trigger migraines or seizures and we don't want that. Thank you!
This is a difficult one as I’ve had so many people that say that they like the title sequence. Removing it for one person I’ll be honest is difficult. However, I’ll see what I can do for you. Now that you know I have a title sequence like this you’ll be able to move on quickly as I’m starting to timecode many of my sessions which will hopefully help you.
