Hi, I will add to my comments. Your design is the most practical I have seen. I, like you, find that as the band saw is always available I use it very often. No more faffing about. I put velcro around the switch with a cord looped over the top mount and a piece of dowel on the end. I simply pull the dowel and the velcro comes off the swirch. Good for emergency stopping. Thankyou again. Good clear video and easy to hear your words (thanks to no music). Aussie Mal.
Lol best part is when you say you make the thumb screws cos you enjoy any chance to use your lathe. I can relate to this.Sometime i make something more complicated just to use some of my tools i enjoy using.
tip: use 30x30 aluminum extrusion profiles if you want to make the job easier and without welders, lathes and stuff. all you need is your bandsaw to cut the profiles and an Allen key to assemble everything by using the fitting angle brackets for the profiles. Worked well for me 👍
I have just made a copy of your band saw stand for my Vevor. I used felt/carpet like you did and a Velcro strap for extra security at the handle. Just starting on the table. Thankyou for this practical design. ( my TIG welds are not as neat as yours! )
This is pretty much exactly what I need. When I started watching, I thought I was listening to Prof. Steve Keen as I'd just been listening to him earlier.
I just bought the harbor freight one, it doesn't keep the bandsaw portable, but it has the two in one. The stand is upright, and has a hinged pulled in to be used as a cut off saw. Too bad harbor freight didn't copy your idea to keep it portable.

Solid tip there. Easy to get hold of 30x30 and you could even 3d print brackets to hold it all together. Ill be doing this for mine.

I cut my finger nail in half with a band saw about 50 years ago. I use a push stick now.

No. The mod to the standard plate doesn’t effect using it in hand-held mode.
If anything, it helps to keep the saw more square when cutting.
They could make make powertools more mod friendly by making them less curvy.
I find the smell of WD 40 can be quite satisfying when Used on projects! Lol
