Glad I found this video. All the tri hulls were fairly simular in 1969 and I just found a 1969 Silverline Riviera SS 15 ft tri hull. I like how these old boats are super simple and honestly get more attention than alot of new boats when restored.
Yep, great hull design with lotsa space for the size. Ride can be a little 'firm' in chop, but I discovered custom cutting a layer of Harbor Freight rubber floor mats really seems to take the 'edge' off it.
Chaparral should bring back this classic boat but with some of the better items from the newer boats. Like using composites instead of wood in the floor, stringers, and transom. Could be their lightweight entry level boat for those that want to get on the water for family fun on an entry level budget. Light boat for those with light tow vehicles and light wallets.
Tried to buy one of these recently, owner has it sitting out in the weather, disgraceful. They wouldn’t sell so I pulled trigger on a StarCraft Capri I found with a 70 HP Evinrude, $500.00 great shape too!
restoring a 73 capri with a 50 evinrude. i had another one with 85 force. great small lake boats. they seem to get a lot of attenion wherever i pull in.

its awesome to see a company embrace the old Tri Hulls that started them all.... seems most consider them a red headed stepchild....
I have the same style boat. Got it from some gentleman who did not want it because of a cooling issue. $80 later it runs like new.

Chaparral was a great boat, always wanted the 23 ft cuddy with the big block mercruiser, 70+ mph with a place to crash or overnight.

Motor was from the 70s- blue band merc 71-76
My 50hp Mercury is an 1983 with blue of a very similar style... pretty sure 1986 is when that changed.
