This extremely catchy selection is also notable for what is often referred to as the 'sunsoft bass', the dpcm samples it uses. The use of samples for melodic lines was considerably rare for NES games-- not many games developed by companies other than sunsoft did this.
The exact same bass samples used here appear in several other games of theirs, including, but not limited to, Batman: Return of the Joker, Journey to Silius, and Hebereke.

I remember when this game came out. As a huge Gremlins fan, I was stoked when I first heard the news. When I tested it in the store, together with other eager gamers, all of our chins dropped to the floor simultaneously when the store owner cranked up the volume. (He already knew). Nobody had ever heard such awesome drum and base in NES game before.
More over, the graphics and animations were incredible for the time.
Still have the cartridge, and the package+manual in close to mint condition.

The way Naoki Kodaka was able to perfectly emulate the iconically playful yet aggressive Jerry Goldsmith score from the film, using only the nes soundchip, is genius.

Absolutely. It's rare for a movie-based-video game to write music that sounds like it'd fit perfectly in the film. Sunsoft was spot on here.

ikr I recently bought a copy of this game for 15$ and i already fell in love with this game and the soundtrack is very good. A very underrated gem from the NES library.

This is one of the best VGM songs I've heard on the NES.
In nes games when You've heared the music You knew who made the game You are hearing. I for example now I knew that SUNSOFT made a "spy hunter" even i didn't remembered that. The same was with codemasters nes games - their sound tracks were really charateristic.
Now, of course everybody knows that _I_ love this soundtrack!

Sunsoft was always amazing with their music. It had the Sunsoft bass wich sounds totally awesome

Pas si difficile que ça à vrai dire, je dirais même un des jeux Sunsoft les plus faciles sur NES. Seul le stage 4-2 m'a fait m'arracher les cheveux en fait.
Mais le jeu est excellent, une des meilleures adaptations de films sur NES, avec Batman, et surtout visuellement très impressionnant pour la console.
Mais rien que grace à la fluidité du jeu et à ses musiques, j'adore me le refaire. Bon sauf que je skip toujours le stage 4 qui est bien difficile, même le stage final est plus facile.

just imagine, if gizmo was put in a super smash video game! ( they put in characters that was in ANY OF THEIR GAMES/ CONSLES. IT dosint matter if they didint create it. they may put in conker or banjo/ kazzoie, maby stripe!

This would fit nicely in with the music from DeCap Attack on the Mega Drive/Genesis.
