This extremely catchy selection is also notable for what is often referred to as the 'sunsoft bass', the dpcm samples it uses. The use of samples for melodic lines was considerably rare for NES games-- not many games developed by companies other than sunsoft did this.
The exact same bass samples used here appear in several other games of theirs, including, but not limited to, Batman: Return of the Joker, Journey to Silius, and Hebereke.

This soundtrack, without using so much as a note from either of the film's soundtracks, is one of the most legitimately-sounding scores for a movie game ever. You listen to this and it's just SO easy to picture Gremlins!
AMAZING OST!!!!!
the best game and the best soundtracks
Underappreciated Goodness
What's interesting to note is that this track is never heard in its integrality in the NTSC version of the game, But it the PAL version, it matches exactly the length of the 2nd cutscene. I wonder if it was intended or if it was pure luck tho.
Indeed, the PAL music was optimized to play at the right speed, but the game itself (including the cutscenes) ran 17% slower.
Ah, just took a quick look at the game. It does use some Gremlins 2 music in it (re-arranged, at least, not in the original NES sound as heard here). I can see that 'The Office' theme was used in a bunch of stages.
After a quick search, it looks like what he used was mod remakes obtained from modarchive (dot org). Not sure if he was aware of the source or not. :)
There's a part that never gets heard in-game...I think it's :33-45.
this shit is fucking wicked... fuck.
Excelent
