It's hard to summarize the thoughts and feelings of three years. I lost my creative spark when Valve stopped supporting replays, and I couldn't get on my feet again.
I never saw a dollar that my channel generated, and I was too young to understand how much of an opportunity it is to have an audience as great as you guys. I hope I can make it up to you by trying my hardest.

honestly lazy, you should maybe think about why it takes so long, i think other creators managed to get more videos out more frequently, even with editing. i dont know the first thing about it, but i think the first step to reviving a channel would be finding better ways to edit it, so you dont burn yourself out. maybe there's someone who has great advice or whatever

Lazy let me just say, you were one of the magicians. Back in the day when tf2 was hot shit and everyone loved the whole hat community, there were a few people who pulled something out of the game that we never could. A refreshing sense of fun that inspired others to try the tactics and usually fail at them(although succeeding was highly rewarding). You were one of those people. From the music backgrounded replays of different classes, to your voiced birthday shananigans I loved it all. Even the side stuff you did on sleeping dogs and deus ex. When you left us for a few years i was kind of disappointed but i understood. With valve not supporting replays it became a lot harder to create the some of the stuff which made you great. Though your channel still existed, your servers were still running, so i kept hope. I am so glad that you have returned and unlike so many of the magicians haven't turned your back on tf2. I love you man, keep doing what you're doing.

Love to see a UA-camr return after a while. I always got a bit sad to see your profile in my subscriptions list and have it feel like an empty void. If it's any consolation, most UA-camrs who lived off of TF2 have quit altogether, so you are in the very small minority that have had the drive to come back :)

Yeah, I miss that. One of the things that slowly made me lose interest in TF2 was how Valve seemed want W+M1 to be the only viable playstyle for the Pyro. That's not to say that the Axtinguisher Degreaser Flare Gun combo was balanced, but it at least offered variety.
That old pyro axtinguisher footage... it makes my heart hurt. How I miss it so. And they thought the axtinguisher was OP? The current bugged flamethrower is so much worse ._.
No matter what you do, we'll stick with you, Purple.
I can't express how great it is to see you back ~ you shaped my entire tf2 experience and even my life for a bit.

It'd be unreasonable for anyone to be mad at you; depressive slumps of self doubt can be the worst thing to happen to anyone who likes to make things. I can sympathize easily with a 3 year hiatus. But regardless, your content is genuinely entertaining and very obviously made with care and attention to detail. I look forward to seeing what you make over the next 6 months, and if you need help creatively, in-game, or with just motivation - you know exactly where you can turn.

When I first subscribed to you, I saw your It's Raining Men video and I aspired to become as skilled as you. Three years later, I have racked up 3 thousand hours with positive results: I've been learning from your style of gameplay, along with a combo of other TF2 players, but the main goal was to be a great soldier like you. I can't really market garden via rollouts like you can, but I have been practicing and I just want to thank you for being there. I was patient: I didn't forget you. I waited and waited for more videos, while knowing that you had a busy life. No...*WE* are grateful for someone like you to be back. This truly is a holiday for us. Thanksgiving moved three days early, I guess!
I have to say you do create some of the highest quality content on youtube. Your video about TF2 being a timeless masterpiece was a masterpiece in itself, never seen such great editing. Glad to see you are back and are putting so much effort into your videos. I think any of us can relate to the unmotivated feeling, I'm sure almost everyone gets it at some point and it makes total sense how it would hinder your ability to make videos, especially when it needs so much creativity, that is the hardest thing to do when you have lack of motivation. We all understand LazyPurple, and I'm pretty sure we are all glad you are back :D

you might wanna stream if you want my recommendation. you could stream an hour or two every now and then to help you out while you work for quality videos.
I recommend this too. Although streams aren't the place to show off quality it is the place to share a community. You could have video editing streams where people can see you during the editing process.
tbh he could do anything at all while streaming just hanging out with people and have the donation feed and whatnot open. Just as a side thing while he works on quality stuff.

Here is a catch for you.
Overwatch is less accessible then tf2 just on the price basis.
And a big chunk just know it by watching people, like Muselk fans. The minority plays it themselves alot, or tried it.
So some jokes might not work when you don't play it yourself.
I personally prefer tf2.
It's most important that you enjoy the think you do. Dot get burnt out by doing too much editing and forcing yourself to a schedule of videos. This happens to often.
I don't know about others, but don't become a stream - please. It's far less effort to do a stream, you get more content and probably more money as well.... But it's less accessible, you could lose some viewers due to timezones becuase nobody is going to watch a vod.
Your videos have to possibility to become timeless masterpieces, like the legendary STAR videos.
If you feel like it, you could split your videos, not 50/50 but a fraction. Do a weekly video where you just show up and talk, like the time when berry made his story show and bring your quality releases every few months, when ever you are ready.
During the writing and editing of a video, those weekly updates can help you to get feedback and a conversation with your viewers an might be a vital part of your production if you put up a few questions or a poll to the comments for data.
And adding a video to talk about the reactions a few days later, like this very video is one of the best parts of some UA-camrs.
I find it amusing though how even without playing Overwatch that I was able to catch up with what being certain mains was like

Overwatch arguably has a larger playerbase than tf2 currently. Its done by blizzard, and everyone knows blizzard makes good shit, its well established in the competative scene, it gets updated often, it gets people to keep playing.
The big problem with tf2 is that updates, while good almost every time, take months, even YEARS to make. The yeti set for the heavy was made in 2014 for scream fortress, to get an idea.
While tf2 is more accessible, overwatch is more sustained and groomed by its dev team.

Well hey, at least now he posts TF2 on his second channel, and I've also seen some Overwatch videos come out. So we can watch his second channel rise above his first as he switches the names of the channels.
I just checked and in the past 2-3 months the channel went from ded to 400K strong. It isn't anywhere close to 5.2 million fortnite kids but It's something.
