I brought my sx2 around 2 years ago...never really got time go on it much..played a few nights here and there..played Notting Hill Carnival in a small gig and was pleased with it, just brought the sx3 around a week ago but still kept my sx2...(don’t like to let anything go) I also purchase two rfc 8003 subs and two rcf 715 mk4s plus two 712 mk4s ...(they sound fantastic together and make me proud to be the owner of them) my dj skills are not great..don’t really have time to learn all the tricks and controls on these gadgets because I have to much of them...but what I do get anytime I do play out is lots of positive feedback back for the selection of music I play mainly rnb, hip hop and reggae...plus some funky house.. As a old skool dj I know that you don’t need to be on top of all the controls it’s more about what music you play at the right time, and the vibes you give out on the microphone...that is my experience either way...I’m 51 years old been playing music to crowds for over 30 years and love it.....
@@daxchase1965 I sadly don't know. All I can say to you is to either look up torrents or find websites that do online movie streaming. So, can't really help you there buddy. Either that or use alternative search engines.

Hi Sweetwater i was using the ddj sx2 until I got the sx3. I noticed when I plug into my laptop that the master output meter disappears and I can't adjust the master volume on Serato dj software. I noticed in your vid that you also have no master meter. is this normal?
It's a mix of both, considering they're showing you how you can use the controller with Serato and take advantage of the controller's new features in addition to how Serato's new features can be used as well all for the purpose of enhancing your DJ set.
Hey, Thomas! Jose from Sweetwater, here. Great question! I know that Virtual DJ has the DDJ-SX3 listed as a compatible controller for their software. I'd love to speak with you more on this, so feel free to contact me at my information below. Thanks for the interest!
Question which be more worth it I have been djing for a couple years now I’ve used controllers and cdjs and I want to either get the sz2 or this the sx3 which should I invest my money in?
I think I would rather get the DDJ-1000 than upgrade to the SX3. I currently run the SX2 and these little tweaks don't really impress me over what I can already do with my current board. The 1000 has a lot more cool features, it has the layout of the CDJs allowing you to prepare for higher end gear with the same features, and also has a display on the turntables themselves. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra penny for the 1000.
Hi All i just start to buying this , but i have some question...if use this kind dj controller its mean i must a good spec laptop right ? because this all running through computer right ? or computer just only for screen out monitor ?
This Should Be Called The (DDJ-SX2 and A Half) Pioneer we want an Equivalent to the DDJ 1000 for serato that’s IT. And also Microphone Inputs that are placed in the front of Controllers has always Been a Horrible Decision. That’s def. a hazard waiting to happen.
So about this "New UI with Performance Pad view" - Does this pertain to controllers only or if you use a Pioneer SP1 would you also get this "performance pad view"?
Hey, Sammy. Thanks for reaching out. To play MP4 video files you would need to connect your SX3 controller to your computer and launch Serato. You would then load the file into your software and trigger it from there via the controller. Thanks, Grant Embury, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1647, Grant_embury@Sweetwater.com
Hey, Don! Jose here, from Sweetwater. Great question! The DDJ-SX3 is one of the most universal controllers out there when it comes to software compatibility, and it is fully compatible with virtual DJ version 8. Although with that being said, if you purchase the DDJ-SX3 it will include Serato DJ Pro and Seratip Flip software to get you up and running. I would love to speak with you more on this, so feel free to reach out to me at my contact information below. Thanks for the interest! Hey, Adrian! This controller does only work with Serato DJ Pro, because of the added advanced features. Good news is the software is included with the controller! If you need anything please give me a buzz here anytime. Rock on! Philip Courtney, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1968
I’d go with the SX3. I personally find Pioneer products more reliable than Numark’s. Ore comparability, updates, longer-shelf life w/ support and better on resale. IMO
Hey, Dexter! It's a different sized chassis. This is a little smaller at 26.16" x 13.95". I believe the SZ2 came in at 34.25" x 16.52". If you have an existing case, you'd likely want to get a new one. Thanks for reaching out! Mike Godlove, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1355
I own sx2 and just bought the sx3. it was a big wast of money. I am so disappointed that the new sx3 does not have dedicated sampler volume control nob like sx2. you have to adjust the channel control nobs and cross fader to get sound out of the sampler. 99% of the new features can be control with your computers. I am returning this Bs to the seller. pioneer wasted time on this.
I was always wondering when the hell serato would allow you to use the program without a hardware unit connected. I use both serato and traktor and thought serato was lacking hard when it comes to that. But its still a joke they make it only possible to use two decks. That shit really made sense when serato scratch live was around and the program was free, while only unlocking its full potential when connected to a hardware unit. But now? wtf. People are paying for the software.
if I still need a laptop to play my music files from a dedicated controller that costs MORE than a laptop in 2018, something is seriously wrong... stop milking this already Pionner and truly innovate something new/different
Rave Tapes 1 buddy im not taking about cost, im talking about FUNCTIONALITY, and this controller is severely lacking in this category. Simply because Pioneer is more expensive DOESN'T mean its the better value for what you get out of the box... look at Denon and other manufacturers who make similar controllers and clearly have shown to step up their game
hardkore360 pioneer makes premium products they just feel it , I have a sx2 yes the sx3 is lacking but isn’t this what apple / Samsung do with their products tweek just a bit? I will stick with mine as it’s well built and wait till I have money for cdjs I myself don’t see the need to upgrade as yes it’s lacking on its predecessor but the sx range is good as is the 1000 I think for a grand it does the job well in emulating a cdj and giving you something that doesn’t cost a mortgage, lol

Jahvar Bennett no your point is valid. I wanted to see more of the actual controller as well.
Jahvar Bennett so what are you currently using
Kaaos Jones I currently have the DJ-808 by Roland wbu
Great review 🙌
Hello does this controller come with Serato
Johnathon Wheeler you can download it like I did for free from Serato website.
When this controller is plugged in serato Dj pro is unlocked. So yes it does
No, only Virtual DJ

Thank you for this video. Very well spoken and a lot of information. Nuff respecks
U forgot to mention where it says it may impact the performance of the program
Stephen Lozada Agreed! It seems like he was going to say it. I never use the Hi res feature during my gigs. The serato UI slows to a crawl if it's on
Will it support/access music on usb drive? Can’t believe that big old big needs a computer to work, amazing
sadly no USB drive reading, that has been my criticism of any new controller by Pioneer as they clearly want their other kits to survive in the market
