Hi mate. I have a 3 series, albeit a lot newer (e90 2011) and I had the same thing with traction control and all the same lights as yours. Mine turned out to be a wheel speed sensor but earlier models do use reluctor rings too. So make sure you check those. Likely culprits.
Hi Jack I have a e46 coupe too and currently have the lights on the dash too. In my case I found out it was my front right wheel speed sensor that broke which then disabled the DSC and made the ABS act up. A replacement one is only around €40. Hope that helps.
Jack- For the lights, it should be happening because of the ABS sensor/ wheel speed sensor, get them changed over should fix the issue. That's your cheaper option. If that doesn't work, then it will most probably be the ABS pump, can get a 2nd hand one or get this one returned, a new one will need to be coded in
Also while your fixing everything on it, consider changing the expansion tank, mine just blew, and coolant spilled all over. It's a common fault on these, been getting ready to do it, to avoid it exploding but the car beat me to it. It's currently sitting outside my house with no coolant
I have an e46... the airbag light is on in all of them, its a very common problem, dont get confused. Yhe airbags may need to be changed kr something with the wires. Now, gor the other lights its some sensors or wires
Central locking is the body control module, will also cause the boot issue. Abs module or speed sensor for TC lights air bag light may also be related to body module. Best to code read before spending any big money though as parts darts can get frustrating.
Airbag light is common on the E46. Can often be seat weight sensor related or seatbelt pre tensioner. Or you can take out fuse number 10 and the light goes out, so I’m told.
The alarm problem will most likely be the bonnet sensor as it happened to my e46 compact so I just unplugged it as it’s not really important and check the fuses with the other problems as they could be out slightly as had similar issue as soon as I pushed all the fuses so they where all in properly it was all fixed and the airbag will be covered as there is a recall from bmw as the airbags have an issue and bmw will replace them as a recall
I had the traction triangle of death on my 1 series, I had to replace the abs wheel sensors and reluctor rings then get the steering angle coded to get rid the thoose lights
The driver seat issue will most likely just be a snapped weld. If not, then the next best solution would be to reupholster the original seat with the broken seat’s material.
If you’ve taken the battery off or done anything with that, usually has a airbag connector and if that gets removed from the battery you will have a warning light. Should be able to code it out mate
Had the same issues on two of mine, airbag light turned out to be passenger occupancy sensor, you can get a bypass plug off eBay that gets rid of the light, just plug it in underneath the seat. The traction control light turned out to be front right abs sensor, buy yourself a cheap code reader off eBay
I have a 2001 mini. A common issue for dash lights. The airbag light can be an issue with the wires under the driver/passenger seats. Best to un-connect them then connect again and clear any fault codes on ecu 👍
Jack! The abs module is failing that’s the reason for the 3 warning lights, it’s a common issue.. google bmw trifecta and you’ll get loads of information on it. Very common on e39’s too
Jack, When you lock your car using the button on your key the same thing happens to my e46 where it will randomly turn the alarm on when no one is near it i found out that its because the alarm is very sensitive and i just lock it using the key into the door and that turns the alarm off (Use this method of locking the car when you are leaving the car in a safe area as the car is locked but the alarm is off). The airbag light could have been triggered when someone unplugged the seats/air bags without disconnecting the battery you can easily just clear the airbag light using a scanner/computer. The traction light, abs light and handbrake light is on due to the rear abs sensors they are usually good and working but the rust pushes them out of place and they throw a light i heard people put washers behind the sensor to space them out not sure exactly how this works but try and take them out and clean the area and put the rear abs sensors back in worth a try to see if the light turn off or do what i did and clear the codes using a scanner/computer and hope the lights don't come back haha
I had this problem with my 330D, turned out the be the brushes in the ABS pump were sticking. When the lights are on give the ABS pump a tap with a hammer or mallet, if the lights go off then you will need to get it refurbed or replaced 👍🏻
Those 3 lights are because of one of abs sensors playing up,airbag sensor is probably the passanger seat that has a sensor.in it to see if you have a passenger or not so it can deploy the airbag or not,and the boot might want to check the wiring loom and boot switch,it can also trigger the alarm whenn it opens the boot 👍
Traction and abs lights will be a abs sensor mine are normally off but once I go over 60/70mph they’ll come on the handbrake light could just be low brake pads or a brake wear sensor issue if it has them
you should plug in a high-end diagnostic tool into it to locate the source of the problem with the dashboard xmas tree, experience tells me that its an abs sensor but its better to just scan it anyway.
Abs sensors can catch hit the reluctor rings (they can bulge due to rust) to avoid having to dismantle the rear end, add a 2mm washer to the sensor for a larger gap, if the sensors are good this will solve the issue, but replacing and doing this will avoid it in the future also.
The alarm going off will be the bonnet sensor on the rhs, just unplug it. The dash lights are most likely the rear abs sensors but a plug in would be best
The traction, handbrake and abs light is because of the abs ring. The airbag light is because of a seat occupancy sensor in the passenger seat, which could be replaced with a resistor to deactivate it. The alarm goes off at night because of one of your sensors, to deactivate the motion sensors lock the car and when the car is locked press the lock button again, you should see your interior light come on and this deactivates the sensors.
NSR Tyre is fitted wron way round matey needs swapping too osr. Also should really go with an axle pair if you have an all season on. Looks like a michelin cross climate to me :)
I have the traction control light with the handbreak light… it’s a linked fault… mines going in tomorrow to get fixed… apparently it’s a sensor but I’ll update tomorrow once the problems sorted
the brake light that doesnt have the ABS light is the pad wear sensor, so either the pads themselves or one of the 4 sensors went caput. ABS module, idk. the seatbelt buckles also are a failure item that can trip the airbag light. I have an e46, and my airbag light is on for that exact reason LMAO. the traction control light can come on in tandem with a few other lights, most notably the yellow e-brake light, which can come on for a whole myriad of things. being that you dont have that i wouldnt worry, but you still wont have DSC at your disposal on the road. finally, get a carly scanner, a euro car owner's best friend. merry hair pulling jack :)
Those dashboard lights are because you have a faulty wheel speed sensor. Very cheap to replace and easy to do. Just plug in a OBD reader to tel you which wheel it is. But tbh if replace all of them as they’re old. Check eBay for replacements - I made a mistake going to ECP they charged me £50 for one. On eBay the quality was better and I got all 4 for around £25. these sensors usually wear out over time. A LOT of beemers have these lights on
If ur after badges and lights for cars I’d check scrap yard especially York u pull it as there a full section of bmw and other cars I think it like £1 to go in just need steel toe boots and a high vis go have fun
Airbag 🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️maybe a sensor from one of the air bags has been unplugged or a seat was taken out and just needs resetting ?? Try that first or put a diagnostics on it 💪🏽👍🏼👊🏽
Please solder those speaker connections and not use those dreadful hazardous scotch locks. As people have commented those rear reluctor rings will either be broken or most likely corroded to hell. Boot mechanism is probably dirty or needs replacing. As for the alarm going off there is probably some connnectivity lost somewhere or wires have a small break in them so it will mean hunting down the right loom for that. I'd also suggest getting a laptop and a copy of ISTA to read codes and see what else is up. Also if this cat has been sat around for a while then I'd suggest getting a new battery and using the laptop and reset the codes and tell the car has a new battery, not all GMW's of this age have that option to but its worth looking into. And finally please replace that bulb holder for the rear light, I hope that duct tape is a short term solution
air bag light is a bad passenger occupancy sensor. You can get a little widget from ebay to fool the car into thinking their is someone in the passenger seat all the time. should cost a couple of quid.
My car has never been in an accident and has airbags but the airbag light is on because on the sensors underneath the seat as you move the seat back and forward it stretches the wire causing the light to come on
Why do people have this obsession with putting the number plate over the air intake for the rad? Especially on a BMW when even modern ones are prone to overheating
Can't help but think you wasted a lot of time removing the rear lenses just to polish them when it could of been done exactly the same with them still attached to the lights.
Not to be rude but ur commentary is so repetitive and robot like. i THEN remove the door card and THEN repeat on other side i THEN start on interior i THEN ........i THEN start on the rear lights i can then do bla bla and so forth im sure u get my point haha just think u should just flow and try and make it a little funny etc will make it less boring and robot like/repetitive and more fun to watch. Abs light look on the front calipers and make sure the sensors are connected or pugs in and not ripped of
Airbag Light is probalby caused by the airbag sensor in a passenger seat. It's very commn In e46
I have an e46... the airbag light is on in all of them, its a very common problem, dont get confused. Yhe airbags may need to be changed kr something with the wires. Now, gor the other lights its some sensors or wires
Scan it for abs and airbag light, otherwise you’re just pissing in the wind, airbag light will need resetting after you’ve fixed the fault also.

Good video. I like how you replaced with rear lights with the originals (period correct ones) and not the last LCI 2 versions.
You should get some halo type lights. Similar to the one in the newer bmw! Love the vids keep it up!
fair play jack them lights look class
with that many cigarette butts, I reckon the car needs a good go with a carpet vacuum 🚬😬😂
I had the traction triangle of death on my 1 series, I had to replace the abs wheel sensors and reluctor rings then get the steering angle coded to get rid the thoose lights
for the abs and traction control try replacing abs sensors, my abs would stay off and i had no abs due to a faulty sensor

Alarm - disconnect the sensor for the bonnet OR ensure there are no coins / metal left in the centre console - particularly alongside the handbrake
Coins? Could this be the issue, I have the same problem and its not the bonnet switch.
Had the same issues on two of mine, airbag light turned out to be passenger occupancy sensor, you can get a bypass plug off eBay that gets rid of the light, just plug it in underneath the seat. Big fan of the channel 😀 love the editing & naturally very funny aswell.

Hey Jack the Airbag light could be the clock spring in the steering wheels you can get a replacement one
Love the longer videos Jack. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
Check ur battery terminals are tight that should sort the car alarm going off
Have you removed the seats ? Could be why airbag light is on mate

The lights could be a bad wheel bearing....or abs sensor...you will need to scan it to find which corner is a fault
Traction control light sounds weird but check your brake fluid level
