I really enjoyed this episode! Regarding the bargain factor, if you can trade your skill to repair a car you like, then it's a bargain. Many people dont drive the car they want because they cannot afford to fix it.
@@GeorgeEI7KOthanks, I actually used this trick, but forgot to leave it in the video, I don’t know if it was you, but someone gave me this trick the last time I was doing this job😊🎉
"When we went there to look at it, he really didn't want us to start it. So we didn't." Just hilarious 😂😂. I like your videos very much, the editing is very nice.
Hey bro idk if there is a Lidl in Norway but there is a Parkside injection-extraction vacuum for like 60-100euros. It's a best buy for that price I think. Saw that you were cleaning the seat with a regular vacuum cleaner.
My first car was a 2009 E81 118i M sport 6spd. Was actually a great car and the only issue I had with it was a camshaft position sensor which was a quick fix. Luckily I got it at ~53,000 miles and the timing chain wasn’t bad and it’s easy to inspect on the petrols as it’s at the front.
Greetings from Mexico, Love your videos man. Keep on working hard! The fact that you’ve busted your ass to get the car done with little tools at your disposal is quite impressive
Great video man! Brings back memories of my youth. Rebuilding cars was a hobby of mine. I mainly worked on wrecked cars. Simple cars like vw golf mk1 and mk2 where my favorite, bold of damage parts bold on replacement parts. Do some welding and stretching. Engine rebuild like you do was out of my league, I just replaced the engine with a scrapyard engine if the original was broke or damaged. Keep up the good work bro!
New sub from italy, you have some real talent. Didn't expect the mot to be this strict, here in Italy it's more like a moment to have a chat with the mechanics😂
I think the problem with the rod bearings are a combination of thin oil not often change fuel in the oil from short driving and faulty Injektors and not working oil pressure regulators
True. I think if the oil would have been changed every 7000 km and the car driven regularly and revved more (4000 - 5000 rpm), then the problems above would not have occurred. In my vision.
I really like your content, watched good amount of your videos, and im bmw fanatik, when i watch this kind of videos, it gives me motivation, do thing on my car by myself, so keep the good work, you have new subscriber.
What a great revive! You saved this beautiful E81. Crazy to think that it is only worth ~2300€ in Norway, considering it has M Package and a partly overhauled engine.
Hey there, just discovered your channel, Man I like it !!! Keep up the good work, I have just blasted through most of the your videos, such great work you're doing !!!! So bad you couldn't keep the 530xd :'(
Even if I am mostly VW guy, I really like your videos, I watched a lot of them and you are providing consistent quality. Maybe one day I will buy a BMW 🤭
We used to have an 130i of this generation. Really fun car, i really miss it tbh. The one in the video is in an absolutely miserable state, but 500 Euro for all of that is actually an insane deal
Great work as always man, was it the brake lines connected when you dropped the rear hubs? It hurt me right in the mewmew 😂. Good little car, wish it had a better engine, would be a great daily. Waiting for the next one!
Hello bro, what is best BMW to buy, I want it to be my daily driver and have good fuel efficency but still to have some good power. Also what is better diesel or petrol?
Nice, how do you tell if the valve guides are not worn, will it still burn oil even with fresh seals if they are? I have an old peugeot 309 GTI that seems to burns oil, i was wondering if I could get away with just seals or have to have new guides. cheers
Hello. Yes, if the valve guides are worn the car will burn oil aswell, but less than it does with worn valve stem seals. But the valve stem seals are in the most cases the ones which fail. They fail pretty much on every petrol engine after 10 - 12 years. I changed them on my car and got away with the oil burning issue. It was puffing white-blueish smoke and engine was caughing. Now it works fine. So yeah, go for valve stem seals at first.
Nice video man. First time seeing your channel and I have to admit, this really reminds me of "M539 Restorations" chaneel… I'm sure you know Sreten's channel hahah. Keep up the good work
Now its nice car. Many km in it. Shame that when you had back subframe off, that you didnt do something with rust on undercar (some oil, wax...). Everything else great stuff.
The rod bearings is definitely not a problem on these engines, they were worn here because the sludge blocked off the oil pressure regulator valve causing low oil pressure, change timing chain, and frequent oil changes should have this engine running for a while, as well as checking your injectors once in a while😊

Next time you do stem seals, put a little grease on the top of the valve. Then the retainers will stick to it when you put them in place.

Dang, that subframe removal was nerve-wracking. But nice job on that little beemer
what would you reccomend to clean an old oil stain from concrete. as you are a bmw enthusiast you should know
Spill oil on all of the floor to blend in😂, jokes aside I have no idea, usually best to clean it immediately after spilling
