- Figured I’d post a quick video of the factory non mperformance exhaust your m340 comes standard with. Here’s a good sound clip with a vrsf catless downpipe.

It honestly sounds good without burble true inline 6 sound
Sounds better than the new M models that sound like lawn mowers
This accually sounds better than the 2021 and 20
Bro what?😂😂😂
I think your downpipe sound clips are backwards. The "closed" is actually open. The "open" is actually closed. You can tell by the exhaust smoke coming out. I believe the valve is on the passenger side exhaust. It also sounds louder when 'closed'.
Can you comment on the smell? I know the outside will smell alittle, but how about inside the cabin? Thanks buddy
I’m on e30 blend so it’s not as bad as just pump gas. Outside you get the raw fumes for sure. In cab not so much. Very light
@@CMbuildz Thank you for getting back with me. Regarding the smell inside the cabin. With the windows up, you can smell it? Or is it only when the widows are down. Thanks buddy
@@rmedina1886 windows up I never smell it … only really when windows down coming to a stop
@@CMbuildz That's exactly what I was hoping for. Thanks buddy.
@@CMbuildz how’d you tune for e30?
sounds really nice! any check engine lights ?
Ya comes on every few days
@@CMbuildzhow do u reset it
@@mosaeed7687 jb4 app allows you to reset
What brand did you install? I couldn't get the MAD catless to fit. Bracket was crooked. They agreed, so I'm sending it back. Thanks buddy
This is a vrsf fit perfect
@@CMbuildz You are correct my friend. I installed mine last week. Sounds nice. The smell is not an issue at all. Thanks for sharing
Only mod was the downpipe then? OPF still in place? I have to do something with mine 21' M240i, stock is way to quiet. Considering many combinations, really not sure what to do - just go with OPF delete with bypass module, OPF+high flow cat that doesn't produce cell (like AA) or simply go with catless downpipe and live with the CEL light.. or maybe catless +jb4. What does actually cel light do, just notify you or actually changes some parameters, so your car is actually running rich or smth? I mean, is it just annoying to watch or have some more serious implications? Because in the first case probably the by far the cheapest and most effective way would be to go with catless and simply ignore the light.
Ya fortunately my car isn’t equipped with opf filter. In your car yes the cheapest alternative would be just throwing a catless Downpipe and ignoring the light. The defouler does work for a period of time but the car is just to smart so eventually it comes back on. A good hi flow Downpipe is also a great option if you wanna spend a little more
@@CMbuildz thank you! I think I have decided - will go with Wagner 200cel downpipe and Miltek opf delete. Should be CEL fine for at least some time, after that I will either decide to fix this with JB4 or simply ignore it :)
And its done! As I said, wagner 200cel downpipe and miltek OPF delete. Sounds amazing, much much louder, but still not too extreme when driving normally. OPF delete module is working as it should, CEL light for catalyst is on from the start, but its hardly noticeable. All together with the installation around 2200EUR, but worth it in my opinion. Its much louder in person then on youtube videos though. I was skeptical if will be loud enough and its more then enough, upper limit for my taste, I am not 21 anymore :D
With no pops and bangs sounds better
Disabled on 23 model
And 21 and 22… 23 stills pops on overrun
Can you clear the check engine light through the jb4? Or is the mini cat a permanent solution now? I remember the mini cats only working for like a month or so..
Yes, get into the car, click the start button 3 times to activate diag mode and then open jb4 to clear code
@@CMbuildz did you use the 45 or 90 degree mini cat?
@@GixxerK1d I used a straight one
@@CMbuildz thanks dog, one of the few people to respond 🐐
Does it void the warranty?
In the case you needed warranty work, I would advise to remove and put back to stock .. now a days they will void warranty for any aftermarket item
any open down pipe clips?
No unfortunately, couldn’t imagine it sounding good tbh
How to does check engine light look on the LCI? If it's not so noticeable I might get the catless.
Small, in the bottom right corner of the screen
@@CMbuildzHow is it over a year later still working great ?
I just got my 2024 m340i it has 100 miles should I mod it 😂
Send it 🤣🤣
can you just throw e85 on these things?
yes e30 is max on stock tune
Thanks for reply! subbed^@@CMbuildz
question, is it bad to put on a catless downpipe with no tune? anything bad happen to the car or does it go on limp mode at all?
Sup brotha, nothing bad about running it with no tune. Also even in the cel comes on the car doesn’t go into any type of limp mode
Does remote start still work?
Yes it does
Is there any downside to running catless downpipe with no ECU tune/unlock? Besides CEL of course
@@tommymendoza9853 car does stink with pump gas haha
@@CMbuildz any harm to engine?
@@tommymendoza9853 no cars running great
Isn’t it bad to run catless without a tune??
No, just a catless downpipe itself frees up a ton a power on the b58 platform …
@@CMbuildz oh I thought you run rich and the car has to know it has no cats..
Did you need any ecu coding after instaling DP? Any problem with check engine light?
@@jarasw8226 you don’t need to do anything with ecu for downpipes and with those catless downpipes you get check engine light I have an active autowerkes catted downpipe and I have no check engine just more expensive
funny ting is that this VALVE is open ONLY in Parking and Reverse xD Once you switch to Drive it gets closed automatically. WTF BMW xD
not if you're in sport mode
Yep, what ive done to my '23 M240i is put it in sport plus then reverse and remove the circuit breaker for exhaust flap. Made it so much louder and better during normal use as normally it only seems to open fully above 3000rpm even in sport plus (or in reverse)
@@MaciMD and if your dealer detects you did it they will void your engine warranty xD plus you can damage GPF filter by doing this always open valve thing. You interrupt the air flow. But I agree, I would also like to have the sound of the valves always open. But the real solution is to change the entire exhaust.
Tuned?
Just jb4 atm made 462/509 on map 5 e30
@@CMbuildz nice numbers! I’m thinking about getting one of these. They are impressive
@@JohnsonMedia honestly there the best M car for the money. Very easy to make power and still maintain reliability
@@CMbuildz What mods does it have to make those numbers?
No burbles for the 23’?
No unfortunately they disabled them from factory 😢
@@CMbuildz Yeah big L
I guess unlocked the ecu?
@@MrTrytostopme25 ya unfortunately it’s the only way
@@CMbuildz I feel you. Trying to do the same. I got a 23 also. Where did you send it out to? What company. I have bootmod from my previous m340
is the engine tuned? I noticed no pops and bangs even with valves open
23’ has no pops bangs
You can do a burble tune but stock doesn’t have burbles
@@Leandre22_02 sucks that to do a burble tune you still need to unlock DME which is super locked down on LCI
@@slayx9193mine is 23 and on revs it doesn’t pop and bang but while driving it does
@@b58sebas what ur hearing isn’t real pops unless ur catless downpipe, exhaust and reving up to redline then you’ll get pops. You need a tune for pops unfortunately.
Did you get the check engine light
Yes, unfortunately this car is extremely smart even with the defouler it comes on every few days
@@CMbuildz I just installed a catless down pipe with a O2 simulator and it’s been like a month haven’t got the CEL
@@Ish5454 ya I’m still missing with the defouler set up. Did you use a straight one?
@@CMbuildz wym by defouler setup? I just had my down pipe install with the o2 sensor
@@Ish5454 it’s a little extension that attaches to the rear o2 sensor. Inside there’s a cat like mesh insert that most of the time works great.
How many miles did you put on before going catless?
300 miles haha
@@CMbuildz Lol. Mine m340 is supposed to be here in a week. Already have the mpe and I’m debating if I should get the down pipe right away
@@Sumaxc of course you should 🤘🏻🤘🏻
My dp on my 20 came off easy not so much on my lci any tricks you can recommend for breaking the vband loose safe loosing the clamp? Is car more responsive? Thanks
@@erniepulido5968 just get a prybar and wedge it in between… then twist prybar.. do that around the vband and then slide vband once loose either onto dp or turbo
Will this void warranty?
Easily removable, worst cause scenario. But if you don’t service your own car then I wouldn’t recommend
I thought there would be way more pops and cracks. Also, why the xdrive? RWD is way more fun.
A lot faster
My 2020 sounds so much better
It sounds naked without the pops
Do dummy cats remove the cel
Kinda a hit or miss … these cars are to smart tbh
you have instagram?
Ya man @cmbuildz
