I don't make many videos like this, but I thought this would be helpful for a lot of new/learning players so I decided to record it. This is one of the most powerful techniques in fighting games and is something that if you add it to your arsenal will surely make you a better fighting game player.

This is so easy to do. I leave red ranks and go to orange ranks every other week. Keeps me humble

Perhaps at the moment, Victor can carry because nobody knows the matchup, but give it time. Eventually people will stop getting knowledge checked and Victor players will either quit or get hardstuck cuz most Victors below Fujin don't actually know their character and just rely on random bs instead of fundies. (I say this as a Kishin Victor main.)
@@AbsolutelyAbsurDDD The only thing Viktor has that makes him busted is Expulsion. Once that's nerfed, he'll be a strong character who's beginner friendly.
For me as a former red ranks occupant. The way to get out of red ranks is patience and whiffing and stop some bad habits as in not blocking low stop using wakeup buttons all the time or just stop and lastly use ur spacing and react once u see something punishable and most important

Frame traps into throws absolutely destroy red and even purple ranks. One thing I've also noticed is, if someone does a meaty move that looks like it staggers your character, then that is a frame trap. e.g. most wr attacks or paul f1+2.

You don't give yourself enough credit. You may not be a "pro" but your technical know how is better than most people I've watched. Also, the way you explain things allows anyone to be able grasp things easier.
I've seen pros do lab sessions and a lot of them provide awful explanations.

You said it took a year to get to warrior in tekken 7 and hope its true. I played tekken 2 like 30 years ago ( I am an old guy) a bit but then i had never played fighting game. Now I liked Lidia somehow and bought 7 and a week later in April I bout tekken 7 so have been playing like a month and a couple weeks. I watched your vid I watched PhiDX's vids and practiced a lot but I am around Assialant to Dominator and in quick matches never won (sometimes 1 out of 3) againt raijin Fujin or above people. As I watch vids practice then can be a bit better? Anyways i love your videos. Thanks
i don't want to "well actually" but the japanese text in 1:14 is translated incorrectly. "abare" means when you mash (edit: think struggling or flailing around), especially on minus, and "tsubushi" means smashing/crushing, and "abare tsubushi" really means "mash crusher", the actual counter hit you're setting up for when you have frame advantage (yuuri 有利). i'm not actually sure if there's a term for "frame trap" in japanese, mostly just that they just talk about taking advantage and taking your turn.

Im hard stuck Tenryu and I’ve started doing these with hwoarang naturally of late. I’ve also been working on varying my combos and working in wall damage and balcony/floor breaks.
I find with hwoarang there’s a certain scrubby style that nets me a lot of damage which is what I call the dragonov style instant running 3 into 2+3 grab or f1+2 it blows people up also the 1+2 from flamingo pressure gets eaten a lot. You combine that with df2 and you got a panic on your hands. My issue is my defence is trash at just over 50 (I eat lows and throws for breakfast) and my technique is even worse currently at around 30 it was at 50 but for some reason my sideswapper stat has gone from a+ to garbage in the last few days? Hopefully next time I comment on this channel I will be ruler 😅

okay so i have been playing a lot of DJ and i got stuck currently in warrior. i cant seem to progress anymore but i am good at knowing punish and having plus frames. but i do not know any of his frame traps. does anyone know it because i usually start with either my rising 2. or do 1,1,2 into forward 4, 3, fly laser. or just open up with a back 3 because everyone wants to do a jab opening though i dont want to go into heat. what are some good neutral frame traps i can open with?
I cant stess enough how toxic orange through to red is, every game i face button masters who repeat the same move , so i started playing casual and i enjoy versin purple n above, way more strategic fights, red is like a mental hospital where everyone no mattee how toxic they played has ended up there

If you want to get out of red stop pressing buttons non stop, learn to block more, and do just basic ass 10 frame and 15 frame punishment and you will fly through red ranks

Idk if he put this as a warning but if you’re just starting out in fighting games. You will not understand what he’s saying, this would be mostly for intermediate players or fighting game players as a whole.
This my first fighting game and I understood. I’m not familiar with the 1 plus 2 terminology but I know what it looks like. The number come secondary to me. I don’t know frame data numbers but i understand that 6 or 8 is better then 13 - 14. I think that all you need to know honestly. Applying is the hard ppl.
not true. If you have some understanding of a basic math, you can understand what frame advantage is.

If you’re still in orange I’d say make sure you know you punishers and consistency with combos, as well as knowing the situations your in (possible floor or wall break, baiting a heat burst to get an easy combo, etc.) keep at it, you’ll get it
@@volktol4432 Appreciate it. Though I'm the thinking problem is I know more punishes than I know when to use them 😭. The punish windows are way tighter than in something like SF.
