- After a long and arduous journey to find the perfect grill for some Hifiman headphones, I've finally settled. Time to full fill the promise over a year later! This is the full un-edited stream, so kick back, relax, and enjoy my nerdy idiocy.

Quick Note: The Arctic Cables grills are not powder coated as I say in the video, they are actually electro anodized stainless steel. Even better!
I just completed the same mods on my 2 sets of HE6seV2’s and my son’s HE400se’s. I used the Silver and the Black versions from Arctic Cables. They definitely look amazing and they even opened up the sound a little more vs. the stock grills with mesh on them. I am very pleased with the results!
Nice! Have to admit, makes me want to do the same for ALL my Hifimans now.
Unsure if it gets corrected later down the line but Arctic Cables at least claims that the grilles are anodized rather than powder-coated. But as someone who really loves various mods, I appreciate videos like this as a resource.
Looked it up and you're totally right. Kinda sad about it, but also it's actually better that way anyway.

BY THE WAY, you do not need to dissasemble the cups from the headband, or even use any tools for this mod. The plastic retention ring for the grill just pops out with a long finger nail. 😆
Yep. Figured that out halfway through. There is still something fun about dismantling them, though.
I just couldn't deal with that chunky headband, it easily slides even with a slight headbang. Replaced it with something very similar to OG HE6 headband from aliexpress. 1000000x better! It's also much more comfortable and lighter. Also had the grill mod and swapped many many pads. These things aren't so great stock but with a bit of work they're amazing.
Same retro headband on the HE4XX right? I love that band. Awesome.
@@MasterMarslander Yes similar to that one but with thinner band but also has foam padding on the areas that rest on your head.
Tbey don't do those grills in the UK 😢
