  • SCP-5140 is a Keter Class anomaly also known as EVEREST.
SCP-5140 refers to a number of frozen corpses scattered across Mt. Everest, located in the Himalayas of Tibet. When SCP 5140 instances are exposed to heat of any form, including body heat, they will absorb it. This process usually renders physical contact with SCP-5140 instances fatal. If an individual dies as a result of contact with SCP5140 instances, their corpse will become another SCP-5140 instance.

There are people climbs everest and return whole and safely. To be honest as its less steeper than Kanchanjangya it is easier to climb. I knew one parson who climbed everest but died on his way returning home from Kanchanjangya.
There is another mountain, Kailash. Till this date no one is able to climb it. Mysteriously snowstorm, avalanches appear on it if anybody try to climb it, though its height is very short compared to everest.

Another fellow UA-camr commented on this as well, but you guys should do a follow-up with this SCP and dedicate the new video for SCP 1529: King of The Mountain, an ominously aggressive and active SCP whom appears to be "human"/humanoid at a distance, but upon a closer and most likely deathly encounter, the SCP is definitely NOT human, helpful, nor benign.
It manifests as a hiker, well dressed and suited in appropriate attire, but anyone who is cautious and observant realizes he lacks any tools, equipment, provisions, and essential/emergency supplies. Furthermore, the SCP can traverse and clear through the natural obstacles, crevasses, steeps, cliffs, and inclement weather without trouble or issue. When SCP 1529 becomes active and detects a climber or group of climbers in its immediate vicinity, it will quickly and swiftly turn towards the direction of the victims/prey and will proceed to either flank and isolate any climber who is either slightly behind or ahead of the group; subduing the victim rather efficiently and effectively so the group members do not suspect their fellow climber is in trouble because SCP 1529 methodically calculates that the victim was last seen by the group rather recently and in normal condition; or if the victim is a solo-climber, he simply appears at a distance infront of the victim, appearing as another fellow climber giving them false security and lowering their guard, where the closer it gets to the target, the victim --through anomalous means-- becomes more passive, relaxed, and at ease, meanwhile stopping in their place, staring at SCP 1529.
When SCP 1529 finally arrives at a speaking distance of the individual, it will [DATA EXPUNGED]. The victim relieves their last breathe and dies; from extremely rapid hypothermia upon final eye contact with SCP 1529. Their remains somehow become subjected to accelerated decomposition and exposure mummification, despite the fact environmental factors would not allow this to occur for several decades in a normal setting.
SCP 1529 does not seek more than one victim at-a-time; however, should SCP 1529 feel threatened, detects its hunting grounds/actives zones have been altered, or sense that it is being prevented from hunting its victims, it will dramatically change its normal behavior and become sporadic and hostile --proceeding to hunt more than one individual in groups or attempt to remove any alterations and targets from the environment that were preventing it from hunting
Lastly, anyone who monitors, views, or observes SCP 1529, regardless of their immense distance and position away from "The Active/Hunting Zone", SCP 1529 perceives that is being watched and will spontaneously face at the direction of the viewer and will proceed to descend down towards the direction of the individual -- this directly places the person in danger; as SCP 1529 continues to descent in the direction of the observer, the individual begins to succumb and inherit symptoms of hypothermia, frostbite, and cold exposure, while being unable to look away from SCP 1529 or to entirely stop surveying it-- promptly requiring instant restraint of the victim, separation from the device they were observing the SCP with, and immediate hospitalization

_"Everest is known for its cold temperatures, occasionally reaching as low as 1*F"."_ - That's obviously not right. Looking it up, it's the base camp that gets that cold in the coldest months. Everest's summit itself can hit around -40 (same in either scale) in the cold months on average, and that doesn't account for windchill either. On the coldest, windiest days it can hit effectively -70C (Around -90F).
Seriously, even if the fact checking can get a bit weak for these YT videos, anything that's obviously incorrect should be worth double checking, right?

Fun Fact: the dead bodies in the area they are found in are mostly found on or near the Dead Zone, where the the air is too thin for human survival.
Another fact: This is one of the many entries on the platform that follow an updated class system. You can still label some things as Safe, Euclid, Keter, etc. They fall under the "Containment Class". There is also Risk Classes and Disruption Classes, which talk about the level of harm and probability of affecting society, respectively.
For this one, It has a Disruption Class of Keneq (A 3 on a scale of 1-5 1=Dark/No chance and 5=Amida/Global disruption), and Risk Class of Caution/Danger (in other words, a 4 or 3 on a scale of 1-5. 1=Notice/very little and 5=Critical/You will die)
The Containment class for this one is Keter

They are practically what is called a heat source, an object with virtually infinite thermic capacity that is capable of giving or taking heat without changing its temperature. The anomaly lies in the fact that generally heat sources are pretty big in size to reach the "infinite" thermic capacity, so a corpse wouldn't normally be one.

For anyone who may go there, you should retrieve any bodies you find because some of them aren’t dead and are just frozen into a death like paralysis. Where they aren’t dead, but can’t speak or move. There are a few survivor stories where they managed to live because a passerby helped them and warmed them up with them in their tents/at their fires. So if you can, you should take the body and try to heat them up and help. :)

I wonder what would happen if the SCP foundation removed the bodies using mechanical or otherwise indirect means and then attempted to destroy them. Perhaps through incineration? Or what about shooting the “corpses” in the head or otherwise destroying them? Would it be possible to “kill” them again, hopefully permanently? I think at the very least they should use indirect methods to acquire and study one of the instances in order to determine the cause/method of action of the SCP.
